I'm getting the error like this:

Your error is calling the model incorrectly:
instead of $data['query']=$this->db->student_model->student_getall;
it should be
$data['query']=$this->student_model->student_getall();
then in your model function student_getall() you do something like:
$query = $this->db->get('students');
$data=($query->num_rows() ) ?$query->result():false;
return $data;
last, in your view you retrieve data like this:

<?php foreach($query as $row):?>

You are calling student model incorrect way. Bellow are the errors you have done. I am making them bold.
Student_model: please make sure 1st char of the class name is in caps and its file name also follows the same caps combination.
Once the model is loaded you can call any method or variable of that model by $this->Model_name->Method_name()
$data['query']=$this->db->student_model->student_getall; in this statement, I am expecting student_getall is a method and should be called like this student_getall(): $data['query']=$this->Student_model->student_getall();

in model you have closed your class after constructor. Should be closed after all function.
Also view() is initialized twice.

Not exactly sure if I understand your question correctly, but if you want to avoid repeating this line:
$data['link'] = $this->Page_model->get_link();
What you can do is to put that in the constructor and create a public variable where you can store it.
i.e.
Main_Controller:

Ah fixed it! Didn't realise that the main controllers (controllers outside of the module directory) also needed to be extending "MX_Controller" instead of "CI_Controller".
Class names must begin with an uppercase letter.

You shouldn't have the logic you need as a function in your constructor. Create a separate function to process the dotpoints stuff.

It has no space and you should use two _
function _construct(){
parent::_construct();
}
Same in Controller
The problem is the way you load the model in your controller.
In the current version of the CodeIgniter you should do something like this:
//loading the model
$this->load->model('adder', 'fubar');
//accessing it's functions
$this->fubar->function();

You have defined a _construct() function which must be __construct().
Also you should fix parent::_construct(); to parent::__construct().
