Joomla - unable to select Intro or Full Article Image - joomla

Using Joomla v.3.6.5 on PHP 5.6.30.
In all articles, old or new, when I select the images and Links tab and try to assign either an Intro Image or a Full Article Image, the CMS responds with a forbidding sign when I hover or click on the form, and does nothing when I click select (instead of opening a popup image choosing menu).
I can upload or edit media folders without a problem. I can add images via the article content editor without a problem. In some older articles there are Intro Images and Full Article Images assigned but they cannot be changed, the form behavior is the same. It is only the Intro Images and Full Article Images that are forbidden/not accessible via the form.
Any pointers on what went south are appreciated.

Linking article pages on joomla that do not exist as a menu item

How do we link an article page on Joomla without it being published as a menu item? We have tried using the ID number, but it does not work.
For example, within one of our published pages we want to link to another article page but this page does not exist as a menu item- so there is not an url to use.
Please provide step-by-step instructions.
If you prefer to NOT have to create URLs manually you can try switching the editor that Joomla uses by default (TinyMCE). Personally I find JCE Editor much more useful. With that you can quickly generate links to menu items, content or even contacts all from their 'Insert/Edit Link' modal popup. It also has a more robust image manager. JCE Editor can even be installed from the 'Install from Web' tab of the Extension Manager Install page.

How to edit href of button on magento homepage

I was a magento dev for some years but stopped for a couple of years. Now back and was stuck at how magento (architecture works).
Question is:
How to find the href of a submit button on a magento homepage?
this will where the template button is located.
Log into the magento back-end admin
Go to System -> Configuration in the main menu
Go to Developer on the bottom left under ADVANCED
Switch to the store view on the top left to your current website or store view.
Under the Debug tab of the same Developer config page you will see a new option appear that will allow you to turn on/off template path hints.
Remember to clear your cache.

Magento content does not show up

It is the first time I use Magento. I have installed Magento with a custom theme. When I add category and product from dashboard, they doesn't show up on the website, just a blank content (header, sidebar and footer works fine, more precisely you can see it at here)
I found the added product from sitemap with css gone. What might be the reason for this? Why categories and content doesn't appear on the website? Why css is broken on the product page?
Magento is designed to be as efficient as possible and the learning curve can initally be daunting to people encountering it for the first time. A couple things to try:
Make sure that the category you've created, found in Catalog > Categories > Manage Categories, the option "Include in Navigation Menu" set to yes (this should automatically "create" the navigation bar for you)
In the admin section of your site, navigate to System > Index Management and select all and reindex them all
In the admin section, navigate to System > Cache Management and flush the cache
The last two steps, when developing your site, are sometimes necessary to see the most up to date information on your Magento install. Something which may make your life easier is in the Cache Management page, select all of the cache types and choose to disable them for now. You'll want to re-enable them once you make the site live.

Joomla 1.5->2.5 menus missing

I upgraded my website from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5.4, however, the menus seem to have disappeared. I was using a 1.5-only template previously, but the jUpgrade process has defaulted to pre-installed templates which is fine - but no menus! I've tried installing a few random other templates but all have the same issue.
FWIW most of the menu links are broken but I fixed a couple just to check, but no joy. The migrated site is still in its subpath which is I assume why components themselves aren't working.
As best I can tell, I followed the instructions in the Wiki on the Joomla site.
Any ideas? Thanks.

The most likely cause is that the menus were displayed in module positions specific to the template you were using in Joomla! 1.5 and that your Joomla! 2.5 template doesn't have matching positions. Alternatively the migration process didn't update the menu module positions properly and it's looking for the positions in a specific template.
Open Extensions->Module Manager then from the Filter options select Type->Menu to see just a list of menu modules. Check the positions they're assigned to by opening the menu module and selecting a position by actually clicking on the "Select Position" button and clicking on the right position in the currently used template.
To help make the choice easy you can filter down the options by selecting your current template from the pop-up menu in the top right of the "Select Position" lightbox that opened when you clicked "Select Position".
jUpgrade does not transfer the menu items from 1.5 to 2.5 properly. Those have to be recreated.

How to publish and position an article in joomla 2.5

I have created an article in joomla2.5 , when i try to publish it, it's not reflecting in front end.
I am a newbie to joomla2.5. Any help on this?
Go in the article manager:
http://docs.joomla.org/Screen.content.15
Then click on the little red icon in the "featured article" column (it used to be the "front page" column in versions previous to 1.7), the icon should become green.
To decide the order of the articles in home page, use the Featured Articles manager (it used to be the front page manager in the previous versions)
