In the Unity editor my game runs fine at a near constant 60fps. However, when I build my game and run it as a standalone it runs incredibly slow at around 5-10fps. I have looked up this issue and so far the only solution I could find was to disable the Player Log from within Edit>ProjectSettings>Player. Since doing this the frame rate has increased a tiny amount however the game is still unplayable. I don't think it has anything to do with my code or graphics as, like I said, the game runs fine in the editor.
If anybody knows how I can fix this problem, in any way, it would be much appreciated if you could give a reply.
Kind Regards,
Tommy Eaves

There was an issue with my quality settings. I had set v-sync to its highest setting which was lagging the when built as a standalone but wasn't active while in the editor. I set my quality settings to the default settings and it all works now.

I am working on drawing app for windows phone 8.I want to capture video while I am drawing in screen is it possible? please give me any idea if u have, Actually it's possible in iOS I had worked on that but I was searching a lot in internet there is no help please let me give any idea how it will be possible.
Thanks
You could also use Expression Encoder 4 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=27870) to screen capture the WP8 emulator and get a nice video out of it. You can define the screen area, clipping the emulator shell if you want.
Here is a couple of posts on how to do it:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mikeormond/archive/2010/09/27/windows-phone-7-screen-capture.aspx

Sadly nothing was released yet (at least nothing official).
Some stores offer a HDMI cable for Nokia Lumia 920, but as I heard, it is a scam. Some developers succeeded in this with a jailbroken device, but that is not really a good solution. Finally - you can certainly use the emulator and record the Window using some kind of screen capturing software, but that will sadly cause performance issues (the emulator causes some lagging of apps). That means either that, or wait until Microsoft solves this somehow...

Mac-like text rendering on Windows? [closed]

I'm trying to figure out how to render text on Windows with the same display as Mac rendered text, e.g: http://igadgetlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/11.png (That picture is not perfect, but it showcases the neat anti aliasing that Mac has)
I've looked at GDI++/Freetype, and it seems too unstable and it has a lack of documentation. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great.
The reason I am asking is because I am trying to make a writing program where text readability and text display are two important factors.
Thanks
The solution lies in using gdipp to override the default font-rendering engine in Windows. Just download the latest package from their Google project page and double click to install it.
It will automatically get installed as a service. If you don't notice any change in the way fonts render, open Run -> Type services.msc -> Right click gdipp -> Click Start.
You may need to restart your computer once for all programs to start respecting gdipp's rendering engine.
EDIT: Alternatively, look at MacType. It's a user-space application that won't require being run as a service. It works with Chrome as well.

What is the best way to open source a project I would like help on? I'm aware of source forge, but is there some way to advertise "I'm a newbie looking to improve my coding skills, so here is a working project I'm uploading in hopes of learning how to code better?" I currently have a Cocoa program I wrote that works fine, but I'm certain there are inefficiencies and leaks in my code that I will never know about unless someone with more experience points them out.
Judging from my experience, if your project is considered to be useful, people will start submitting bug reports and patches by themselves. If that happens, get in touch with your submitters, offer them write access to the code base, distribute responsibility.
That way, you'll learn a lot about coding and, more importantly, team management.
That having said, why don't you participate in existing projects in order to improve your coding skills? Reading other people's code will boost your capabilities far more than just writing your own stuff.

Mac: force another application to use a specific audio device [closed]

As the question already suggests,
I'm trying to figure out, if it's possible to force another Application/process to use a specific output device.
Not every Application has a dropdown menu to select which audio device should be used and therefore always uses the standard device.
But when running multiple applications this isn't always the desired solution.
Plus, even if the application has a device-selection, it's almost always buried deep within the menus.
I was thinking of something like faking the change of the standard-device (but only to one application)
Looking forward for you answers :)
Greetings
Audio Hijack Pro already does this and it works great. Rogue Amoeba are the experts at Mac OS X audio.

Can I manipulate a window(process) that I have not created? [closed]

I have this application that I haven't created and I don't have the source for. But it's really handy in handling and recording the time I've used on different projects. But it has this annoying pop-up that comes up that contains a window and some debug text I believe. It wasn't done by a professional, it was just a hobby project. Everything is working even though this window appear. So I was wondering if it's possible to "hijack" a window and minimizing or closing it somehow?
Yes. You could hide the window if you have its title. There are other ways to do it, but..
The following application does a few tweaks on another window, check it out:
