Adobe XD installation on windows 10 is interrupted by an error dialog box that says "The operation was canceled due to some restrictions in effect " - installation

i'm trying to install Adobe XD on my system but i'm halted by an error that comes in form of a dialog box, it says "The operation was cancelled due to some restriction in effect on this system, please contact your system administrator." My windows 10 is up to date and i have the 1607 anniversary update.

Try this solution. It worked for me. For error code 191.
First find Microsoft Store and open it.
Then find the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner. Click it and then click Updates and downloads. In that window locate apps installer and microsoft store. Update both the apps. Then restart the computer and start installation.

I found the answer to this error and i resolved it by doing the installation using the Administrator account that windows 10 creates by default when yo install the OS.
Here is a link to a webpage, the one that helped me http://www.ghacks.net/2014/11/12/how-to-enable-the-hidden-windows-10-administrator-account /

For the error code 505.

After Windows 10 latest update VB6 hangs

Last night Microsoft Decided to Update Windows 10. I have been running VB6 on Windows 10 since Windows 10 was originally released. Now when I try to run VB6 the VB6 splash screen is displayed and then I get a window titled Windows Installer, a message that says Preparing to install, a button that says Cancel a window titled Windows Installer, a message that says Preparing to install, a button that says Cancel. This window is modal and does not allow me to get to VB6. If I click Cancel the process repeats. If I click on a .vbp the same thing happens. Please help
Thank you
Charlie
I don't know if I should apologize or demand an apology from Microsoft. I right clicked on VB6 and chose Compatibility Checker. After it ran, Microsoft decided to update office 2010 Single Image (whatever that is). Then I clicked on Test the Module and guess what? It worked. I so hate updates...I had this problem and now my computer reboots every night, thus trashing any open files and ruining my Free Cell game :-)
Hope this helps somebody else who is frustrated.
BTW shouldn't it be Windows' Installer. Doesn't the Installer belong to Windows?
Happy Computing
Charlie

Facebook Gameroom

Facebook Gameroom application in my laptop doesn't open at all after installation. I used it for a while but suddenly it stopped launching. Application does meet all the minimum software and hardware requirements of my system. No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall, the application doesn't open at all. Even I restarted the system many times. Do I need to format and reinstall OS? Reporting the same in Facebook is of no use, they won't respond at all. Any advises would be of great help.
Try installing Service Pack 1 on Windows 7, you can search the 32bit or 64bit installation on Microsoft page. When you install SP1, re-install Facebook Gameroom.
Otherwise:
Run Facebook Gameroom, wait for at least 5 minutes for program to get auto-updates if there is any and it should launch [my facebook gameroom window appears 3 minutes later after launch]
There is a way to launch:
- Open facebook.com on Firefox browser
- Open the game (any game) with "open in game room" button
- Firefox maybe ask for the correct application. Choose game room.
I have no idea why the direct access icon is not working :(
Just the internet connection problem. Sorry to trouble.

How did I get this hidden "URL Moniker Notification Window" in my app?

I am working with MS Support on a case. We've found that when running an install/update on our application, that it doesn't work as expected on Windows 10.
A window inside our application is returning an error when the Windows Restart Manager sends a WM_QUERYENDSESSION to it. This results in an aborted shutdown on our app during the install.
With the help of Microsoft Support we've determined that it is the "URL Moniker Notification Window". I also know which thread owns the window. But I don't see anything in that code that rings a bell for me.
Where does this window come from? How did I get this in my process?
No answer was ever found. Ultimately, replacement of our installer (w/ WIX) made the world a better place.

How to fix "Unable to activate Windows Tailored application" on Win8

I get "Unable to activate Windows Tailored application" error in Metro app when I'm running it under debugger of Visual Studio 11. I installed Windows 8 x64 Developer Preview on my Dell E6510 laptop.
I googled it and found out many people saying it happens when screen resolution is smaller than 800x600 but it's 1920x1280 in my case.
The app itself contains nothing. It's just empty wizard created application which is nothing but windows with black background.
Any ideas? It seems like very common issue.
The solution was quite bizarre but I figured it out.
It turns out not a single Metro application works under Administrator account including my apps. I'm talking about built-in Administrator account that is disabled by default (but which I enabled).
It gives "Access denied" error so I suspect it's somehow related to the way WinRT COM objects were registered or something like that. Go figure.
I hope somebody from Microsoft is reading this.
Best solution is to wait 2 weeks for the next release. The developer preview is full of fun bugs like this. I've seen this error caused by invalid app.xaml. Double check that you really haven't changed anything. I've also seen this error sometimes resolved by rebooting. Have fun!

zend studio 5.5.1 on windows xp - won't open!

I have been using zend studio 5.5.1 for the last year and and a half (on windows xp), with some occasional issues, such as a blank error dialog box when I started the program, but always went away when i restarted my computer, and usually got messages about javaw.exe errors.
But now, the program does not open at all. What happens is, I get a little dialog that says Loading project - this is normal... but then, nothing. The zend program item is sitting in the taskbar, but when i click on it - nothing! there is nothing to show. i can right click and press close, but that is all.
restarting computer did not help. i just uninstalled it, downloaded again from zend website, and reinstalled. tried opening - get loading box, seems to have loaded, even got tip of the day box. but there is nothing showing behind them. once i closed the tip box, i dont have any indication that zend is open besides the program item in the taskbar. windows task manager says it is running...
anyone have a clue? help!!! thanks
UPDATE:
I found this blog post with a fix for Linux... I am a windows user and that is greek to me, anyone who can translate for me what I can do for windows?
wow, did a google search for the equivalent of rm -r ZDE as suggested in the link above, and then I typed the following in the cmd prompt: rmdir /s ZDE
voila! it works!!!!
Running Zend Studio 5.5.1 on Windows 7:
Right click Zend-icon for Windows 7 program properties
On Compatibility tab set modus to Windows Vista and apply
Enjoy!
