I want my cell size to be static at runtime regardless of default images, which I kept in each cell of the analysis. The problem is, I have kept an default image in each cell ,when it runs the cell's width gets enlarged automatically. Please suggest me what can be done, to keep the cell size static at run time,Cell size should not get enlarged at runtime.
a) It's an "analysis" and not a "report". A "report" is a completely different object type: a BI Publisher report.
b) Therein already lies your answer: Oracle provides the two distinct tools of Answers and BI Publisher because the first is used for analytical, dynamic rendering and the second for pixel-perfect, more static reporting.
c) To sum up: OBI Answers = dynamic. BIP = pixel perfect.

I would like to add a button on each plot to be a setting button. I use label with event listener and it works well ( as shown in attached file). However, my client asked me to change from normal text to graphic icon? How should I proceed?
As you can see from the attached image, the third plot is macd series. The value rage is from -3e-8 to 3e-8 (by my observation). I manually set the maximum and minimum, and it get incorrect scale as shown.
How should I set the maximum and minimum for yScale?
I don't know how to get maximum and minimum value from a series. Can you suggest me?
A1 – Unfortunately, the current version of AnyChart doesn't provide an opportunity to add custom-made buttons inside the chart. But you can use a trick and use stage based layout. It means that the container includes a stage. The stage includes the stock chart all other elements by layers. Using this approach you can place an image (icon) upon the plot and set a listener just as for the 'settings' label.

A2 - We are planning to fix this behavior in 8.4.2 update (approximately by the end of November 2018).

You can apply min/max to the yScale of plot #0 like this:

We are glad to inform you that we have released 8.4.2 update which brings many fixes and improvements. This update also includes a fix on the issue you reported. Now calculation of min/max of Y-scale works properly with small values. Update your binaries to get the fix.
I'm using Oracle reports 6i, and when trying to print a report from a form, it gets me this error:
REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'R_Empressa'

I'd check whether all frames' vertical elasticities are correctly set; if "inner" frame is set to be variable, while "outer" frame is fixed, if inner frame contains a lot of data, it can't stretch enough because outer frame won't let it. Obviously, you should set outer frame to be variable as well.
The text that will be loaded inside the field "R_Empressa" is bigger then your width size. resize the field or set your property "vertical Elasticity" to "Expand".
I am trying to show machine states over time. Part of this is to reproduce/automate a report that used to be done by hand. It consists of coloring 2minute 'time slices' in Excel based on what the machine is doing.

The total state duration (for selected time frame) is shown in the pieChart, followed by the individual state lines and then the heatmap that people are used to. (the ZOOM and date selection buttons do not work in the fiddle but are there to select specific data ranges or zoom in if you like).
The line charts uses the original representation of the states, which consists of a time the state is entered and a duration.
In order to make the heat map work, I had to (I think) take the original data and convert it into individual minute chunks and mark them with a state. So for instance the original data specifying:
RUN state starting 14:30 for 300 seconds
becomes:
14:30=RUN, 14:31=RUN, 14:32=RUN, 14:33=RUN and 14:34=RUN
The code in lines 233-297 loops through the original data and generates a new one that does this. In cases where there is more than one state within a given minute, the last state survives.
This works okay but it seems that this code is exactly what is normally done in group().reduce(add,remove,init). But in this case I need to add multiple timeslots depending on the duration of a state.
Also, because it is now using a different crossfilter, maps do not update each other.
Here are my questions related to this:
Can I display a heatmap without supplying information for all individual
'cells'? (i.e. straddle cells based on a value, similar to rowspan in a table)
Can I add multiple values at once inside group().reduce()?
Is there an easy way to invert the yAxis so 0 is at the top?
When clicking a row in the heatmap, it selects a column and vice-versa?
I'm not sure if this should be in the crossfilter group. If so please ignore my rambling. If someone knows how to keep the charts linked by grouping better, please let me know.

Concerning Question 3:
DC.js heatmaps currently do not support custom order functions on axis but there is a pull request that has been merged into the developing branch and should be accessible to the public soon.
You could manually edit the dc.js file to set the sorting in heatmaps to a custom function. In the latest (2.0.0-beta10) version it is the following line:
rowValues.sort(d3.ascending);
and accordingly
colValues.sort(d3.ascending);
I've made a report using reporting services (Visual Studio 2010) and I want the subreport to have a predefined height. For example, the subreport will be 2 in. even if the report data only fills up 1 in. of the subreport. Is there a way to force a subreport to have a static height?
I have run into this same issue.
To set a minimum size, add a rectangle with a horizontal and vertical line inside it, and place the subreport inside the rectangle.
One solution I can think of for setting the max size, is to use top(x) in the sub report query, so that any results which exceed the number of lines to be shown are simply not included.
Alternatively, if all results must be included, then add a calculated field to the subreport dataset which counts the rows of data. In the subreport table, for each column set the font size such that all lines of data can be displayed within the given area. (iif(NoOfResults = 2, font = 10, etc))The 'Allow row height to decrease' will also need to be set on the table, so the rows can shrink in accord with the font size.
Hope someone finds this helpful. If you can think of any other solutions, I'd love to hear them.
I'm using the Crystal Reports included with VisualStudio 2005. I would like to change the image that is displayed on the report at runtime ideally by building a path to the image file and then have that image displayed on the report.
Has anyone been able to accomplish this with this version of Crystal Reports?
At work we do this by pushing the image(s) into the report as fields of a datatable. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done. Of course, this solution requires that you push data into the reports via a DataSet. I've always felt this was a hack at best. I really wish that image parameters were a possibility with CR.
Edit: It's worth noting, if you are binding your crystal report to plain old objects you want to expose a byte[] property for the report to treat that as an image.
I finally reached a solution using the byte[] tip posted here by Josh.
This solution applies if you are using a plain old C# Object to populate your Crystal Reports (see http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/C-Sharp/Crystal-Reports-for-Visual-Studio-2005-in-CSharp/ for info on this approach).
In your C# class, insert the following code:

Now, update your C# Object Mapping in CR using the "Verify Database" option. You should then see the Bitmap property as a CR field. Just drag it onto the form. It will be of type IBlobFieldObject. When you run, you should see your image.
[I have since found a solution using a byte array via a C# Object property - see separate Answer. Leaving this answer here for reference...]
Here's what I have seen suggested (but I tried and failed in both C#-2005 and C#-2008).
Choose a directory and place a BMP there (e.g., "C:\Temp\image.bmp").
From the CR-Designer a) Right-click->Insert->OLE Object... b) Select "Create from File" c) Check the "Link" checkbox d) Browse and pick the bmp defined in step 1 e) Click OK f) Place the image on the form.
Overwrite/update the image at runtime in your C# code. In theory, since you inserted a Link to an image file, it will be updated when the form is refreshed.
I had no luck with this approach. The image appears when I first design the form (step 2). But at runtime, the image does not update for me. From this point forward, things get really odd. It seems that CR caches some sort of image that just won't go away. I can delete the OLE object link in CR-Designer, but if I recreate it, I always get a black box the same size as the original image (even if I change the size of image.bmp).
You can also use a conditional formula to set an image's location. See Crystal Reports: Dynamic Images.
Try using a combination of using a parameter containing the path of the image and the tutorial on this page: http://www.idautomation.com/crystal/streaming_crystal.html
Then in step #8, use the parameter instead of a hard-coded path.
Another option that I've found useful is inserting the pictures you would like to use. Position the graphic accordingly, then right-click the graphic and go to Format Graphic > Common. Check the Suppress box, then click the formula button, shown as x-2. Once in the formula window, simply add the code for determining whether the graphic should be suppressed or not.
In my case, I was building one invoice template for multiple entities. In the formula window, I simply wrote COMPANY <> 1100 which meant that every time the invoice was run for a company other than 1100, the 1100 graphic would be suppressed.
Hopefully this makes life easier...
The current version of Crystal Reports (for Visual Studio 2012+) that I use with Visual Studio 2015 supports this function. Follow the following steps:
Insert a picture into your report. This will serve as your
placeholder.'
Right click your picture and choose Format Object
Select the Picture tab and the press the formula button
A formula window will open. Enter a formula that will find your pictures as links.
