Default sorting in ember-models-table - sorting

I am using ember-models-table (https://github.com/onechiporenko/ember-models-table) and I'd like to initially display the table with the records sorted by one particular column. I can't seem to find a parameter for this in the spec. How do I do it?

Oracle SODA - How to sort on created using REST?

I can't work out how to use the $orderby with SODA on an id field (such as created or lastModified. I'm using SODA for REST directly and not the other projects.
Sort syntax is:

And replacing the path with $id: 'created' (as you can use that in a filter specification to access non-document metadata. But nothing works to order properly.
Short of putting the created field into my object when I create them (which defeats the purpose of having those fields) how can I use orderby on a metadata field?
Max here from the SODA dev team. I am not 100% sure what you mean by an "id field". Looks like you mean the "created on" and "last modified" document components automatically maintained by SODA, right? If so, we don't support orderbys on these (though it could be added as an enhancement).
As of now, as you mentioned in your post, best option is to create a field in your JSON documents' content and set it to ISO8601 format timestamp value (e.g. 2020-10-13T07:01:01). You can then do an orderby on such a field (with datatype "datetime"). Please let me know if more details on this are needed.
In SODA REST, when you're listing collection contents, you could specify since=timestamp and until=timestamp query parameters. That'll give you all documents with last modified timestamp greater than the "since" one, and less than or equal to the "until" one.
Example:
http://host:port/ords/scott/soda/latest/myColl?since=2020:01:01T00:00:00&until=2021:01:01T00:00:00
As part of this operation, SODA automatically adds an orderby on "last modified". Not sure if that's useful to you though, since that's just for listing all documents in the collection (i.e. you can't combine it with a QBE, for example). So if this doesn't meet your needs, best option right now is to explicitly add something like a "modified' field to the document content, and do an orderby on that.

Elasicsearch sort by inner field

I have documents that one of their field looks like the following -

And I would like to sort the different records according to the ascending value of specific ingredient. That is if I have 2 records which have use ingredient with key "abc", one with value 1 and one with value 2. The one with ingredient value 1 should appear first.
Each of those records may have more than on ingredient.

Elasticsearch: how to know which field the results are sorted by?

In Elasticsearch, is there any way to check which field the results are sorted by? I want something like inner-hits for sort clause.
Imagine that your documents have this kind of form:

Now I have no idea how to know the field by which the results are actually sorted: it's probably scores at this document, but is perhaps score at the others? There are 2 problems - 1. You cannot use inner-hits nor highlight for the nested fields. and - 2. Even if you can, it doesn't solve the issue if there are multiple matching candidates.
The question is about sorting by fields that are inside nested objects.

( in your example there will only one value remain: 20).
If you want to be sure about the sort order insert a "mode" parameter:
"min", "max", "sum", "avg" or "median"
If you do not specify the "mode" parameter according to the corresponding issue the min-value will be picked for "asc" and the max-value will be picked for "desc"-order:
By default when sorting on a multi-valued field the lowest or highest
value will be picked from the field values depending on the sort

Elastic Search - Sort by multiple fields with the missing parameter

I am trying to apply a sort to an Elastic Search query by two different fields:
price_sold and price_list
I would like to first sort on price_sold, but if that value is null, I would like to then sort by price_list
Would the query be correct if I just set the sorts to:

I have executed the query, and I do not get any errors, and it seems like the results are correct, however I am curious if I have overlooked something.
I have been reading about the missing filter, along with possibly using a custom value. This may not be required, but I am not quite sure.
Would there be a way to define a second field to sort on if the first field is missing, or is that not necessary? Something like:
"sort": [{"price_sold: {"order": "desc", "missing": "doc['field_name']"}]
Would simply adding these two sorts give me the desired result?

I think I understand what you're asking. In SQL terms, you'd like to ORDER BY COALESCE(price_sold, price_list) DESC.
The first sort you listed is a little different. It's similar to ORDER BY price_sold DESC, price_list DESC - in other words, primary sort is by price_sold, and for entries where price_sold is equal, secondary sort is by price_list.
Your second sort attempt would be great if "missing" worked that way. Unfortunately, missing's "custom" option appears to allow you to specify a constant value only.
If you don't need to limit your search using from and size, you should be able to use sort's _script option to write some logic that works for you. I ended up here because I do use from and size to retrieve batches, and when I sort by _script, the items I'm getting don't make sense - the items are sorted correctly, but I'm not getting the right set of items. So, I added a new analyzer and expanded my fields to use the new analyzer, and I was hoping to be able to sort using the new field or, if the new field doesn't exist (for previously-indexed items), use the old field's value instead. But that doesn't seem to be possible. I think I'm going to have to reindex my items so my new field is populated.

For sorting dates, the type still has to remain number but you replace .value with .date.getMillisOfDay() as discussed here.
The from and size worked fine in my version of ElasticSearch (5.1.1).
To make sure your algorithm is working fine check the generated value in the response, e.g.: "sort" : [ 5.0622E7 ].

ElasticSearch Score Function Depending on Neighbor Documents

I have an ElasticSearch index with 2 mappings (types).
In the app I need to display a paginated feed containing items of both types.
Currently the items are sorted just by creation date, but I also want to have control on how the items alternate with each other on the page.
For example, I want to set a rule for sequence "3 items of type A, 1 item of type B, and so on".
I need it to make sure items of both types are displayed on each page and equally distributed across the pages.
But as far as I see it's not possible to access another documents in custom score function script.
Of course it's easy to implement directly in the app logic, but it's not clear how to implement pagination using this way.
Any ideas on how to achieve that?
I don't think you can do this.
One approach (that doesn't work) is to keep a global variable in a script and to increment that once every document is being returned/processed. And then to take this number, divide it by 3 and get the modulo number. Based on this number, to sort the docs. But "global" variables are not possible in sripts.
The only two approaches that I can think of is to use a script to generate a random number and based on that to sort. In this way, you get some chances to have a "mixed list of types.
Or, if you want the smallest deterministic way of sorting the docs, still in a script take the ID of the document (you said is a number) modulo 3 it and use the value to sort.
