I am using CKEditor version 3.6.6 and I want to make the toolbox open by-default in editor. Currently it comes close and you need to click on the toolbox icon to open this. Is there any way to make this open by-default?
I found it in CKEditor config file (ckeditor.config.js).
We need to set the following flag to true:
toolbarStartupExpanded : false

Your Options for Disabling an Extension in VS-Code
To disable the extension open up the extension menu in the **Activity-Bar. Locate the extension you wish to disable, and then click the gear to the right of that extension. When you click the gear button, a menu will open, it will have several options — 2 of the options in the middle of the menu will offer you to disable the extension:
The first option disables the extension globally.
The second option will be to disable the extension for your current workspace.
Afterwards you need to restart your browser.
One more option
To disable all of your installed extensions, use the Disable All Installed Extensions command. To do this hit F1 to open the quick menu, it should drop open from the top of your screen. Once open type "Disable All Installed Extensions" into the Command Palette and select the Disable All Installed Extensions option once it appears.
Below is a screen shot I cropped to demonstrate disabling an extension:
SIDE-NOTE: A disabled extension will need to be enabled, when the user decides to use it. If you don not plan on using the extension in the foreseeable future, you should just remove the extension rather than permanently disabling the extension.

We are looking for a client-side way to force Internet Explorer to show the Open button when downloading an XML file.
Normally the download bar looks like this:
When downloading an XML file, however, no "Open" button is shown:
How to configure IE/Windows in a way that the "Open" button is shown for each file download?
I've already read about the X-Download-Options HTTP header, unfortunately, we must look for a client-side solution as we cannot alter the web application.
We found out the following: Windows had associated the file type "xml" with Internet Explorer (control panel -> default programs -> set associations). This triggers IE to not show the Open button anymore, we don't know why exactly, however, when associating xml with Notepad, the Open button reappears.
If anyone has a better solution to always force the Open button pleas come forward. In the meantime we are going to use this workaround.
In Notepad++ (Windows 7), is there a way to disable the Common File Dialog Box when saving a file? I would like to replace it with the standard Save File Dialog Box.
Notepad++ uses this dialog box for saving:
I would like to use the following dialog box:
Adding shortcuts to "My Place" bar is not an option as I don't plan to use the Common File Dialog Box at all.
The feature was implemented on 2017-01-30.
Settings > Preferences... > Default Directory > Enable "Use new style save dialog (without file extension feature)".
#Tamarindo94 found where the setting was a couple days ago:

From the sounds of it this feature is on the books for the next release of Notepad++ once the support for XP goes away, details here: https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus/issues/176
I noticed in Notepad++ they still don't have Favorites but they do have Libraries. My work around was to use Libraries instead of Favorites. You can actually add a Library that points to any folder you want. In Windows File Explorer on Windows 8, I had to go to Folder Options and check to turn on "Libraries" so that I could see them. Then I was able to right click and create Libraries pointed to the folders I wanted.
How do i set a default application to open a file with my preferred text editor? I am currently trying open file.rb. It opens text wrangler, but I want to open with another. How do i do this?
Go to finder, right click on your file.rb file and select Get Info.
In the Info Window you'll see a section that says Open with, expand that section. There you can change the default application to open that particular file. There's also a button labeled Change All... This button allows you to use the specified application for all similar filetypes (*.rb).
You want to use the name of the editor you want to open with, i.e. gedit file.rb, or vim file.rb. You can probably also change your default editor associated with that file type, depending on your OS, etc.
Is it possible to launch an external image editor from the TextMate project drawer? I suppose the same concept would apply to launching any external editor from TextMate. Right now, if I right-click on the image file, I only have an option to open in Preview or Finder.
Thanks!
Yes. There is an (official) TM Bundle that does what you want--it's called "ImageBrowser." I installed recently and i have used it only once. It seems to work fine for the purpose you mentioned in your Question; in particular, it finds images in your current project and displays them in an image browser that runs inside TextMate.
You can get it from the Macromates SVN Repository.
TextMate respects the Finder's (well, LauchService's) "Open with" choice for each file. Whichever program would open when you double-click the file in Finder will appear in TextMate's contextual menu. Simply change this through the Finder's Get Info window for the file in question to the editor of your choice, and TextMate will respect it. It's dynamically populated, so you don't need to restart TextMate.
As far as I know, there's no method to specify a secondary program beyond the default.
I think no is the answer, but like Matt said, explore the usage of the Services menu.
