Virtual Host not running http - https

I recently restarted my system without any update only to find out that all my virtual host address now points to https and not http, I cant access any of my virtual host address anymore, but can only see it via the localhost address please what could be wrong

Stop using .dev or .app in your virtualhost, make use of .local or something else, as recent browser updates since Feb 2018 forces .dev and its like tld to https

How to set up proper Active Directory with Windows Server 2019 and DNS problem

1 - I have installed a fresh Windows server 2019.
2 - Got to fixed IP 192.168.10.254 and DNS server ect ...
I used 8.8.8.8 and 114.114.114.114 for DNS
3 - Went through some "guide" to setup AD, rebooted and then logged on under the Administrator account in my domain as mydomain.com/Administrator
Now how do I make other machines join the domain to mydomain.com??
When I logged the normal machine, tried to change it from my computer, it couldn't find the mydomain.com, saying something with the DNS problem....
I did some search, look like I should have set up the server DNS as my server IP address? like
fixed IP 192.168.10.254 as well as DNS 192.168.10.254 ???
I did try something like this, but then the server would not have internet access to the www.
It would only have local lan access. I am not sure what the problem seem to be....
Also, all machines in the LAN goes through a DHCP router already. Would that be an issue too?

/etc/hosts doesn't work for localhost only

What I need:
Localhost points to the IP of my other PC on the local network.
What I tried:
I added "IP localhost" to the /etc/hosts file.
Command ran: "ipconfig /flushdns"
Browser: Edge/Chrome/Internet Explorer
This doesn't work, but if I name it anything else than "localhost" it does actually work.
I know it is something about the DNS, but I read online that the hosts file should overwrite it.
Partly solution
Google OAuth only accepts localhost or example.com as redirect URL. Not being able to use localhost on a different PC for testing, I solved this by using example.com on both the local PC and the second PC. I added the following to the hosts file:
Local PC: 127.0.0.1 example.com
Second PC: IP_OF_LOCALPC example.com
You can then use URL example.com:PORT. This isn't supported by Microsoft OAuth though (I guess I will only use Google Login for developing). Any ideas on how to solve this for Microsoft OAuth are welcome :)
Are you using Chrome?
Chrome has it's own DNS, if you use another browser then it's likely it will work as you expect.
Edit: Confirmed that this is still possible in Safari today on a Mac (26/12/2021). However, browsers appear to be clamping down on this - and are making an effort to make sure that localhost and *.localhost will only ever point to your local machine.

Hosting Website to local in IIS

I am able to host website in IIS 8 but not with ip add. The binding with ip and browsing the site in chrome gives 'ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED'
http://localhost - works
http://10.111.148.133/ - does not work.
Seems you are using your public IP.
You can browse using your local IP address. Your local IP address should be some thing like 192.168.xxx.xxx .
You can check your local Ip address using the following command in command prompt.
ipconfig/all
if you want to access your site using public ip, then you need to port forward from your public IP to localIp by setting the DMZ Host in your router.
Along with the above answer, try going through your Firewall settings on the host computer and enabling anything related to IIS or port 80.
You can easily figure out if your antivirus or firewall is the issue by temporarily disabling it.
However, I think your issue is that you grabbed your public IP address, off whatsmyip.com or something, you just need to exec ipconfig to see what your local IP is.

Can't access web, only server default page is showing

I have just moved to a VPS server. I have uploaded my files to httpdcos/ but then when I access my website, it still shows the server default page.
How do I fix this?
My website is at 216.87.168.104 - the server runs Parallels Plesk.
It happens because apache doesn't serves your website on IP to which your domain name resolved.
Check IP of your domain:
nslookup <yourdomain.tld>
Check output of apachectl -S - make sure that domain name is served on resolved IP address

Connect to local server on MAC from WINDOWS?

I am trying to connect to a .local server on my MacBook Pro from my Windows 8 desktop for testing. Is this possible?
I can "access" it from computername.local/serverlocationfolder, but it messes up all of paths/styles since the install is using a CMS.
Is there something I can do from the Mac or PC side to make this possible? Or will I have to install a local server (mysql, php, etc etc) on my Windows machine to test properly?
** I wanted to clarify that both of these machines are on the same network.
You may need to add the domain name you are using to access your mac to your vhosts as a ServerAlias so that it points to the correct docroot. Don't forget to restart apache! :)
If you find out the IP address of the machine you want to access and you have the appropriate ports open, you should be able to access any protocol from any machine.
You can use the IP address instead of the .local address anytime.
