Using GetObject with file argument produces Error 432: File name or class name not found during Automation - windows

I have a screen scrapping application which is in VB6, It is running on windows server 2003 and now we wanted to upgrade to windows server 2012 64 bit.
I have a problem running the below code, it gives:
Error 432: File name or class name not found during Automation
operation
(ref)
GetObject("E:\Robots\Sessions\session1.edp")
I also tried specifying the class name
GetObject("E:\Robots\Sessions\session1.edp","Extra.system")
Also tried CreateObject first and then GetObject, none of them seems to be working.
Thanks,
Remya

i did some research and most people tell that the solution in the following url is fixing the problem
http://unversioned.blogspot.com/2015/12/jdeveloper-12c-generic-installer-cannot-create-weblogic-domain.html
but the problem is when i open the javashell.py file , i don't find an entry for
_osTypeMap =
it Doesn't Exist in the file
Also , another solution the people said it worked is by adding this line
Djdk.lang.Process.allowAmbiguousCommands=true
but they didn't said where to add it and what is the exact steps !
There is a known issue with JDeveloper, WLS 12.2.1.4 and JDK 8 opened at My Oracle Support : Bug 30670839 : INTEGRATED WLS CANNOT BE CREATED WHEN USING JDK1.8.0_231
There is no patch available for now but you can try the workaround provided in the bug note : Revert back to JDK shipped with JDeveloper
If we see, problem is with the type of command that JDeveloper executes to start the weblogic instance is old and therefore does not work correctly, however below solution is working. It did solve the issue in my machine
We must modify this file:
C:<JDEVELOPER Install Path>\ide\bin\ide.conf
Add the following line:
AddVMOption -Djdk.lang.Process.allowAmbiguousCommands = true
Post modification, save the file.
Restart the Jdeveloper, compile and launch the weblogic server.

Trouble Creating and Executing an Intel SGX Enclave

I'm very new to SGX and wanted to start with something simple. Fortunately, I found this very basic tutorial. Unfortunately, as simple as it is, I can't get it to work. The code executes, but there are errors in the output.
[sgx_create_enclavew ..\urts\win\urts.cpp:195] Couldn't open file with CreateFile()
error 0x200f, failed to create enclave.
Buffertests:
Buffer before change: Hello World!
Buffer after change: Hello World!
Stringtests:
Returned Secret:
Saved Secret: My secret string
Load Secret:
Integertests:
secretIntValue first load: 0
saved a 1337 to the enclave.
secretIntValue second load after 1337 was saved: 0
error, failed to destroy enclave.
image of output
the tutorial says:
If you get the error SGX couldn't find the enclave file. The solution is to move the enclave_test_save.signed.dll into the same folder where the app_test_save.exe is located.
which I've tried, but it didn't solve the problem.
when I try to create the enclave using:
sgx_create_enclave(ENCLAVE_FILE, SGX_DEBUG_FLAG, &token, &updated, &eid, NULL);
it returns: SGX_ERROR_ENCLAVE_FILE_ACCESS
could the problem be a result of using a different version of Visual Studio? (The tutorial uses VS 2012, while I'm using VS 2015)
Did you run the application through command prompt or from IDE?
If you are using IDE, You need to change the debugging properties to $(OutDir) from $(ProjecttDir) under Project Properties->Configuration Properties->Debugging->Working Directory.(Both Enclave and Application) Select the Intel(R) SGX Debugger.
Disclaimer: I had the same error although under a different setting (Ubuntu, eclipse) so I am not sure to what extent this will help.
Before initialize_enclave() is called (which in turn calls sgx_create_enclave()), a chdir(absolutePath) command needs to be executed, where absolutePath needs to be the absolute path to where your executable is.
My error was due to a wrong path I used.
Thanks, I solved it. turns out I had to place enclave_test_save.signed.dll in the root folder with the .edl file and not with the .exe file.

Verpatch.exe error

I am trying to add new version resource string to .exe file using verpatch.
I need to add new sting to version resource as I am creating test connector to Qlikview. For QlikView and Qlik Sense to be able to recognize an .exe file as a connector, the file version information resource must include the property “QlikView Connector”.
I am developing my connector with Visual Studio and this command is run as a post build command and build ends with error. I also tried to run it from command line with same result:
C:\verpatch>verpatch.exe C:\QV_temp\QVTestConnector.exe /s "QlikView Connector" "Qv Test Connector"
Exception in ParseBinaryVersionResource
Error in ParseBinaryVersionResource
error parsing version info from the file
Some of actions failed, exiting
I have also tried different versions on verpatch.exe. Any ideas?
The example that Qlik gives on their documentation does not seem to work with the version of verpatch.exe that ships with QVX SDK 2.1.
I resolved this error by updating to a newer version from CodePlex.
Edit:
verpatch seems to have moved to https://github.com/pavel-a/ddverpatch/releases
Please see documentation. After /s should go "description".
If it has problem reading existing version resource, try to rewrite it completely with /va. So, do something like:
verpatch your.exe 1.0.0.0 /va /s desc "QlikView Connector" /s product "Qv Test Connector"
If you can share the problematic exe with the author of verpatch (on Codeplex), he may provide a fix.
I couldn't set properties on my executable with any version of verpatch - because I had a different codepage in the resource strings.
I would recommend rather using the Python package pe-tools (PyPI), which has a nicely documented command peresed that does this (docs).
You can also set specific version-info fields or set resource entries to the contents of a file:
peresed filename.exe -V "QlikView Connector=Qv Test Connector"
I have run this command successfully, but not verified whether the properties were set - but other properties like FileDescription are set correctly.

ActiveX component cant create object: Mercury.ObjectRepositoryUtil

I created a VB script that converts the Object Repository file (.tsr) of QTP to XML and then to Excel. This Excel file format is configured via the VB script as well. It works well however, I am trying to run this on a new machine and I get an error:
ActiveX component cant create object: Mercury.ObjectRepositoryUtil.
Script:
Public Function ExportTSRToXML(TSRPath,XMLPath)
Set XMLRepositoryObj = CreateObject("Mercury.ObjectRepositoryUtil")
XMLRepositoryObj.ExportToXML TSRPath, XMLPath
ExportTSRToXML = XMLPath
Set XMLRepositoryObj = Nothing
End Function
Here are my steps to fix this:
1. Registered RepositoryUtil.dll with REGSVR32
2.using CSCRIPT.exe under SYSWOW64 ran the vbscript file
At step 2 mentioned above, I see the error when the script is executed :
"Microsoft VBScript runtime error: invalid procedure call or argument"
What Am i missing? Cant figure it out.
Thank you for your help. Again, this code works completely fine on multiple machines. The new Machine (64bit) has Unified Functional tool 11.5 instead of QTP 11.0.
Try to start the script from command line with: %SystemRoot%\SysWow64\cscript <yourscript-here>.
The 64 bit machine automatically starts a 64 bit interpreter and this com object is not compatible with it

The following is the howto from Microsoft, but this doesn't apply to firefox. There is no redirection happening either.
If a user has set Internet Explorer
Advanced Security option "Warn if
changing between secure and not secure
mode" on the deployment target
computer, and if the setup URL of the
ClickOnce application being installed
is redirected from a non-secure to a
secure site (or vice-versa), the
installation will fail because the
Internet Explorer warning interrupts
it.
Internet Explorer calls either LaunchApplication or ShOpenVerbApplication procedure from dfshim.dll behind the scenes, whereas Firefox plug-in (as well as a standard bootstrapper created by Visual Studio 2008-2010, which could also produce this rare error) uses a different, out of date technique to launch ClickOnce applications. (Note, that LaunchApplication requires at least .NET Framework 2 SP 2.)
To avoid such error one could redirect Internet Explorer to a deployment manifest (.application) and all other browsers to a custom installer (.exe) that would install .NET Framework if necessary and then call ShOpenVerbApplication.
Hmm, after using IE to install, then uninstalling, I was able to install via firefox again. Odd.
The following worked for me:
Within the local distribution package CLICK ONCE a web.config file was generated on line clientCache that was the problem, in which altered as follows for CHROME and IE8 and now run the file:
<clientCache cacheControlMode="UseMaxAge" cacheControlMaxAge="1.00:00:00" />
I've had this and it to resolve it was to disable the firewall. I sadly don't know what Firewall settings it was, I just disabled the lot and it ran/installed without issue.
After exhausting firewall options on this issue, I found that my excutable was pointing to the IP Address of the Application Server. When I changed the site deployment and consequently the executable to the FQDN of the server instead of the IP Address, the installer worked first time.
Simple Solution, on cmd execute setup.exe /URL=http://< Production  URL>/
Easy!
