In Windows 10 (64 bit) 1803 with WDK 1803 when running ksstudio as administrator, there is always an error message saying can't install ksmon.sys. It is in same directory as ksstudio. I've tried windows 7 with wdk 7.1, 8.0, and 8.1 as well and get the same error. Tried searching the wdk forums and osr forums but came uo short. I have to be missing something or is it just broken and no one uses it? Anyone have this issue before and have any insight as to how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Here's the error I get on starting KsStudio and pressing ok

So, the long story short - I downgraded to Windows 8.1 because of many years struggling with Windows 10 (ended in black screen, not relevant right now) anyway, I started a fresh install of 8.1 yesterday and I'm trying to get my local server going again with Ampps (preferred) or Xampp but having a lot of trouble getting the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) 14.29.30133" to install, both programs need this to connect properly. I have done all the updates I can and other suggestions (old) that I've found over the web with no luck. The install either hangs about halfway or I get an error. I tried the newest version with the same result.
Am I wasting my time or is this still achievable in 2022 on Windows 8.1? I really hope the answer isn't going back to the dreaded Windows 10.
Cheers.
i installed 7.1 beta 2 developer tools in my laptop .while running the solution it's showing "Windows Phone Emulator is doing complete os boot?" i tried so many times as uninstall and re install the developer tools but no use.
Please tell me clearly i am facing that error so many days i am not able to get how to fix that error.
please tell me why that error is occuring and how to rectify that error.
I have had this problem before.
I fixed it by deleting the files in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\XDE folder and then running a repair on the dev tools installation. I imagine a reinstall would also fix it.
I was installing the latest WP7 SDK, but it crashes with following error. Any hint what went wrong?
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'MSDATASRC, version="7.0.3300.0", publicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a", fileVersion="7.0.9466.1", culture="neutral"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070005.

Make sure you've uninstalled any previous versions of the SDK and make sure you've got all applications (particularly VS) closed.
Failing that, you're better off asking in the official forums.
Beside Richard answer, you might to make sure that you have VS2010 SP1 installed in case you have VS2010 (professional or ultimate) Installed on your machine.
I'm trying to use WIA in an older VB6 program running in Windows 7 and when I run from source everything works great and I can import images. When I run from the compiled version I get the following error:
Automation error. The specified module could not be found.

I found the wiaaut.dll in both system32 and SysWOW64 so I don't know if that is potentially causing a problem. I tried unregistering and registering both to no avail. Any help would be much appreciate.
As far as I know wiaaut.dll is preinstalled in Vista and Windows 7, but this is not the redist version for XP that comes in the downloadable SDK, and it should not be deployed to those newer OSs. perhaps somebody tried to run some application installer on your machine that forced the XP version into place blindly?
Perhaps try How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 to see if it can restore the original Win7 version?
I am trying to install OpenCV over windows vista 64x but it's shows a fatal error.
I tried everything I can but it is useless.
Does openCV work on vista 64?
How do I get rid of this problem?
Please help .
thanx in advance
From what I know, OpenCV does NOT support 64bit OS yet.
