Hi I am new to nativescript and i am trying to select video files, i was trying to use nativescript-mediafilepicker, it successfully opens the folders but i am not sure how to select a file using the same programatically.

You won't have any control on the selection UI / videos as it will be a system or third party app that was opened through Intent, which is totally outside your app context.
If you like more control over every user action in picker UI, then you will probably have to build one yourself. There are few open source iOS / Android libraries that may probably support this feature, you can extend them to NativeScript if you are familiar with plugins architecture.

I have an AngularJS front-end that opens a Bootstrap Modal that has a button on it. When this button is clicked it calls a Web API method on the server that generates an OPEN XML Word Document as a stream and returns the file to the client. I have several files downloading successfully in IE where I see this:
However, for the file I'm trying to download with the open Modal I never see the above image. It's not the file itself because it downloads successfully when I try it without the open Modal. Also, I don't see any errors reported in IE Dev Tools. I don't think it's the code that generates the streams because the same code generates other files successfully. I also tried closing the Modal before downloading but that didn't work either. It's almost like the Modal is "blocking" the download.
Here is the Modal definition:

I was able to determine the cause of the problem here. It had to do with the way I was calling the Web API Method. I was using an AJAX JQuery GET call. Instead I had to do something like this:
var url = url;
window.location.href = url;
When I changed the way I was calling the Web API method I saw the stream returned to the client as expected.
I am developing a mobile web app using Kendo UI Mobile. Whenever we make any AJAX calls, or our DataSources make them we call app.startLoading() to show the loading icon to the user. This works very well.
However, depending on the context in which the call is made we would like to change the text that is displayed along with the loading icon. I know you can define this when I create the kendo.mobile.Application instance. How can I change it afterwards?
The documentation does not suggest a way to do this, and a browse of the source code did not help me either. Is this really not possible?

I usually make a "utility" function to do this:

I could have sworn that worked for me in a past app I did, but judging by thr source, I think you are right, my answer above shouldn't work. My best suggestion is to add a class to the message element so you can target it, and use jQuery to change the text.

I'm trying to develop a ff addon that allows a user to right-click on a form element and perform a task associated with it.
Unfortunately somebody decided that the context menu shouldn't appear for form inputs in ff and despite long discussions https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433168, they still don't appear for checkboxes, radios or selects.
I did find this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Offering_a_context_menu_for_form_controls but I cannot think how to translate the code to work with the new add-on SDK.
I tried dumping the javascript shown into a content script and also via the observer-service but to no avail.
I also cannot find the source for the recommended extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/form-control-context-menu/ which considering it was 'created specifically to demonstrate how to do this' is pretty frustrating.
This seems like very basic addon functionality, any help or links to easier documentation would be greatly appreciated.

I have added the following code in a file, required from main, that seems to do the trick.

Unfortunately this still does not bring up a context menu for disabled inputs, but this is not a show-stopper for me.

The important piece of code in this extension can be seen here. It is very simple - it replaces nsContextMenu.prototype.setTarget function in each browser window and makes sure that it sets shouldDisplay flag for form controls.
The only problem translating this to Add-on SDK is that the high-level modules don't give you direct access to browser windows. You have to use the deprecated window-utils module. Something like this should work:

I am developing an iOS app in Appcelerator and I want to switch between windows with the use of a swipe event listener. How can I do this? The below code does not work. The current window that I "start" from contains a table.

I think the problem is with the Ti.UI.currentWindow. Depending on the context you're working in it may not be valid.

I would like to write a firefox extension. This extension is not a generic extension but work specifically for a domain where I need to highlight specific html components.
How should I do that? I just want the js loaded when the user is browsing a specific domain.

I was thinking to go neanderthal and do a check inside myextension.onFirefoxLoad to see if the currentpage is the one I want but that requires the user to click the proper item on the context menu.
I'm not totally following what you have because both of those look like JS files, not XUL files. But what you probably want to do is listen for the load event coming from the web pages that are loaded. Then, in your event loader, just look at each page that loads and see whether it's coming from the specific domain you want.
A great (though not always quite as easy as it sounds) way to find out how to do something in a Firefox addon is to find another addon that does something similar. DOM Inspector and Inspect Context are your friends! The first such addon that comes to mind in this case is WikiTrust so you could try looking at that one to see if it gives you any inspiration.
