d3js animated horizontal chart improvements - d3.js

I am creating a horizontal animated d3 chart. How do you reverse the x axis and position the bars in a more dynamic way.
Are the bars the correct width or is the xaxis scale correct? Using d3 version 4

How do you reverse the x axis
You have to change the domain of the axis
y.domain([sortedMax, 0]);
position the bars
You have to translate the axis to the width of your graph

You have to use a multiplier to calculate the width of each bar, using the max width of your graph and your max value. I have added the 25 pixels of the translate of the x axis

How can I highlight a part of a grouped chart when filter d3

I start with d3 using version 3.
I created a grouped bar chart that looks like this:
I added a drop-down list that contains all the genders (Woman (femme), Couple...).
I'm blocked because I can't highlight the bars that correspond to a certain gender when I choose from the drop-down list.

You can select all the rect in the SVG and filter them in the function, so the code would look like:

For showing the background for the bars, just copy your selection and chose a value of 100% for the rectangles, in a light gray fill:
