I’m not sure if this is really an ask, but I thought I’d try anyway.
I’m trying to format a file name so that it shows the date in its title. Sound easy, right?
I can’t use the DATE text macro, however, because the / creates new folder paths (which would be great if the dates were in a different order than they are but... what can you do).
However, when I try to use a modifier (as specified by Apple), the format ‘eats’ the first number.
I’m in my phone right now so I can’t show results but an example:
Template for the file’s name:
HelloWorld-___DATE:bundleIdentifier___.swift
What I expect:
HelloWorld-29-03-2019.swift
What I am getting:
HelloWorld--9-03-2019.swift
Any ideas what’s going on or should I just take the L?

I'm an ABAP programmer and I was asked to make a minor modification to an IPL label.
Easily done, but now I was tasked to fix a long running error within said label.
I know nothing about IPL and the lack of a online viewer makes everything worse...
The problem is that "tabulation" right in the middle of a text (I underlined it in blue on the Label's pic).
I checked the code and there's nothing there that should make that tabulation appear.
I spent a whole month reading manuals and trying to fix it, but nothing changes...
Here's the code and the resulting label:

Can you guys help me, please??
Edit: Just to make it clear, I did that blue line on that image to show what's the problem.
Here are some tests I did by changing the data:
Test1
Test2
The error always appear at the same point in the label, as long as there's a space in that text.
Have you looked at the raw data of the output? Is it POSSIBLE that what looks like a space is actually some special character that is making IPL choke blue? Because it is literally the 1 character between the "O" and "1". For grins, you might also try to change the character in the data to a "-" just for purposes of confirming data context. It might even just be a TAB character.
I have done IPL years ago and have actually gone to the point of defining a pre-defined label template and generating output that says to use template X (whatever # I created as),and pass the data along that fills into the respective fields.
A final option I would throw in is this. Take the sample output you have and just force sample data into each of the output areas. So, instead of your literal data, put fake data in similar context just to see if it is data specific or other. Such as
<STX>H1;f3;o220,52;c34;b0;h2;w1;d3,300052947-FANDANGOS PRESUNTO 140GX14 LD<ETX>
becomes
<STX>H1;f3;o220,52;c34;b0;h2;w1;d3,123456789-TESTING-SAMPLEDATA-123XY12-AB<ETX>
Notice same context of data, but no spaces and using dash "-" just for testing. Is there something special about the actual data. This is a good way I have done historically for similar strangeness early on doing IPL labels.
User decided to not spend anymore time on this issue, so now I'm unable to further test the label.
Unfortunately this problem will go unsolved for now. Hope I get another chance to fix this and learn more about IPL.
Thanks you so much for your answers!
I need to create a PDF with a date field that displays dates in the format dd.mm.yyyy. This field must be validated and should also accept inputs in other formats.
For example, users should be able to input dates in the form dd.mm.yy, which will then be expanded to dd.mm.20yy (MS Office apps like Excel do this).
Alternatively, selecting multiple valid formats would be an acceptable solution.
What currently happens:
If the date format of the field is set to dd.mm.yyyy, dd.mm.yy is rejected.
If the date format of the field is set to dd.mm.yy, dd.mm.yyyy is accepted (but formatted to dd.mm.yy).
The last behaviour is almost what i need, just with the wrong format.
Is there a way to do this without custom Javascript? If not, is there a way to still use the built-in formatting or do i have to rewrite everything in JS?
Unfortunately this is not achievable with Acrobat's built-in formatting.
One thing to add to your second bullet point: it trims the date down to .yy when you exit the field, but it still retains all four digits. When you click into the field, it will revert back to being .yyyy. That may or may not matter depending on how you're using it.
Regarding a custom validation, a quick Google search will yield an abundance of Javascript date validation scripts. Something like this could probably be quickly repurposed for your application.
I want to copy some specific texts from internet browser(chrome) and want to paste them in proper fields of Microsoft word.. Let me explain what I want exactly... I have this kind of page structure in chrome-
Name-Deepak,Raju,Jhon,Robert.......
Salary-200,254,673,953...
Phone-987535747,856889479,64688539,357954228....
Etc..
I have a table in MS word as-
Sl. Phone. Name. Salary.
Can I make a auto copy paste program to make my table-
Sl. Phone. Name. Salary
1. 987535747. Deepak. 200
2. .......
Like this? Suggest me the best suitable platform to compile this.. Its best for me, if a bat file can do the job.. I know bit odd question.. And I should not ask the entire program, rather a section of it..Bt still....... actually I don't know from where to start..
Rather than use a wget which will only retrieve the document, what you want is a way of parsing the results of the web content and writing into an output file.
After searching the web, I could only come across
lynx which
is a text based browser and you can parse the -dump parameter to
output the text into file which you can then write a script to do
the final bit.
Also take a look at this

for more info on switches you can use most especially if the desired
text has links in it (-nolist)
elinks which is an advanced text based browser
I'm using PowerBuilder 10.5 and as a newbie I'm a bit stuck and since Google isn't giving me a satisfying answer I'm asking some advice from the Stack Overflow group.
I have a Rich Text Edit field in which the user can write something, insert pictures and so forth. Once finished, he goes to the „Search“ command button and clicking it searches for the batch file that will suit his needs (copy that text into an existing word document, create a new word and place the folder on web, and so fort – there are 6 different batches). The code in the clicked event of „Search“ command button is this:
String ls_s
GetFileOpenName('PB_app', ls_s, ls_s, 'BAT', "Win Batch Files (*.BAT),*.BAT", 'C:\Programs\Test')
And here come my problems: I can't connect my app and the selected batch file. I'd like the path of the selected batch file to be visible in the Single Line Edit filed, but I have no idea how to get there, not to mention I'm point blank at how to connect PB app, batch file, how to even say to the batch file – „That text in rich text edit field is the one you have to work with?“…?
So I need some advice, guidance, perhaps some links or names of any literature that would help me understand how it should be done. I've lost two days and got nowhere, and I just need some piece of advice to get me going…
Your problem is that the original programmer used one variable for two return values. If you declare a new string variable and pass it instead of the first ls_s, you'll see this will return you the path. If you run into trouble, PB has a good help file (and the manuals are also online) which covers GetFileOpenName().
Good luck,
Terry
I'm trying to create a new input method using Input Method Kit. The documentation is very lacking, but I believe I'm setting the project up correctly and I place the input method into ~/Library/Input Methods after building it. However, I see strange behavior when looking at the list of input sources in Language & Text preferences.
The NumberInput sample seems to work fine for me, and there are no differences in my new input method that I can find, aside from the values for tsInputMethodIconFileKey, InputMethodConnectionName, InputMethodServerControllerClass, and CFBundleIdentifier in Info.plist. But I'm seeing these issues:
When I use my desired bundle identifier for the app, nothing shows up in the list. (This bundle ID doesn't exist anywhere else on my system.)
Changing the bundle identifier to be the same as the NumberInput sample makes it show up in the list, but when I select it, it sometimes duplicates entries in the list, and generally behaves weirdly.
As I make slight modifications to the bundle identifier, it seems to behave normally, but once I change it back to the original identifier (the desired one) it disappears from the list.
If I quit the process associated with my input method, selecting it in the menu again doesn't relaunch it.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Apple's documentation for IMKit is nearly nonexistant and it doesn't seem like many people have documented their own attempts at making input methods. Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Yes I've tried logging out and back in and even restarting my computer, nothing seems to significantly change the behavior I mentioned above.
This worked for me. Try this: make sure your bundle identifier contains "inputmethod" somewhere in the path. Example "com.blugs.inputmethod.IPAPalette". Yes AFAIK it's totally undocumented. Yes the documentation is awful. Hope this helps! Cheers.
The accepted answer here is very useful, adding .inputmethod. to your Bundle ID.
I'll add that I found a bit of documentation for this in TextInputSources.h, which contains a large number of comments and documentation not found in the Input Method Kit overview docs. Worth a read.
Carbon > Frameworks > HIToolbox > TextInputSources.h
In the Info.plist file, the value for the CFBundleIdentifier key must be a string that includes ".keyboardlayout."; typically this might be something like "com.companyname.keyboardlayout.MyKeyboardLayouts" (Before Leopard, it was required to be a string that began "com.apple.keyboardlayout", even for keyboard layouts not supplied by Apple).
and
If this key is not specified, an InputSourceID will be constructed by combining the BundleID with an InputModeID suffix formed by deleting any prefix that matches the BundleID or that ends in ".inputmethod."
