Good morning,
I am trying to move an installation of SmartAssembly 6.8 onto a new developer machine.
It looks like it has installed without any issues, it starts ok and I get the dialogue with the Activate and continue buttons. The machine I am installing SmartAssembly on doesn't have an internet connection, so I have been looking at the instructions here https://documentation.red-gate.com/sa6/getting-started/licensing/activating
If I click the Activate button to enter the serial number I get the following in a dialog box:
The server is not operational.
I have the option to send / save the error report, but that won't save either.
If I click continue and then try to activate from inside the app I get the same error message as above. If I click the debug button on the form with the error message I get a little more information:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException was unhandled
Message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in SmartAssembly.exe
Additional information: The server is not operational.
Specs of the machine I am installing on are as follows:
OS: Windows 10 (64bit)
Memory: 4Gb
Disk Space: 50Gb free.
Apps:
Visual Studio 2013
MSSQL 2014
.NET Framework 4.5.x and 4.6.1
I have also tried installing as a normal user and with administrator proveleges, but I get the same error.
I am clearly missing something obvious, so any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks
In this particular case I cured it by installing the latest update for that version, that seems to have done the trick.
I am getting the Following error while trying to install VS 15 (not 2015) preview 4:
Failed to load product definitions
From the official documentation here, there is not much:
Error message "Failed to load product definitions." may appear
Issue:
You may experience the following error message when starting the Visual Studio installer application: "Failed to load product definitions."
Workaround:
In most cases, clicking the Refresh button will workaround this issue and successfully load the product definitions.
Refresh button does nothing.
Any ideas?
Try deleting %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages\_Channels
I am unable to create a report in design view. When I click on this option nothing happens. The "Use Wizard to Create Report" option works fine as do all other options. I am using Linux Mint 17.2. I tried a profile reset without success.
I didn't have Oracle Report Builder installed. However I found the following bug report for ubuntu 12.04 and it appears the same applies to Mint 17.2. After applying the fix I am now able to create a report in design view.

I just set up a small GitLab server on my Proxmox box and want to use it for my Xcode projects. I create a new project in Xcode and under "Create new git repository on", I select "Add new server". Then, I enter the address (ssh://git.tobi-soft.de) and give it my username and password (I tried both my username and email address).
But then Xcode comes back and says "Server is disabled". Is this a configuration issue on my server, a bad URL or simply a bug in Xcode? (Xcode 5 DP3)
Thanks
Tobias Timpe
I get the same error message with Xcode 5 DP3. Can't really go into much more detail (NDA); and can't discuss it anywhere else as the Dev Forums are down!
