Can't force https on laravel project - laravel

I need to use facebook api, and it requires me to have https, so I want to force my laravel project to use it.
With Laravel I use react scafffolding also I run project on Xampp
I already tried
setting 'url' => 'https://localhost' in config/app.php
putting HTTPS=true APP_URL=https://localhost in .env
putting \Illuminate\Support\Facades\URL::forceScheme('https'); if($this->app->environment('production')) {
\URL::forceScheme('https');
} in boot method at appServiceProvider.php
my url seems not to change, it always says localhost:8000
My laravel project is not small, I don't know how mutch code is needed to reprocuce same issue, inform, and I'll provide anything

Merging laravel dingo with laravel-modules and caching config

Here is the problem.
I started a dingo project and am using laravel-modules in it. Every module has its own routing files. Using the project in development environment, everything works fine.
But when I run php artisan config:cache, when a request comes to laravel, it return the response The version given was unknown or has no registered routes. As I see, the problem is dingo just check the default api.php and web.php files to find the route. But module routes are not stored in that files. I store them in Modules/module_name/route/api.php file (as laravel-modules suggested).
Any suggestion would be welcome.
change api file of module with version param in group session like this:
$api = app('Dingo\Api\Routing\Router');
$api->group(['version' => 'v1'], function ($api) {
...
});

How to properly connect Nuxt.js with a laravel backend?

I am starting a new project, Nuxt.js for the frontend and Laravel for the backend.
How can I connect the two?
I have installed a new Nuxt project using create-nuxt-app, and a new laravel project.
As far as I have searched, I figured I need some kind of environment variables.
In my nuxt project, I have added the dotenv package and placed a new .env file in the root of the nuxt project.
And added CORS to my laravel project, as I have been getting an error.
The variables inside are indeed accessible from the project, and im using them
like this:
APP_NAME=TestProjectName
API_URL=http://127.0.0.1:8000
And accessing it like this:
process.env.APP_NAME etc'
To make HTTP calls, I am using the official Axios module of nuxt.js, and to test it i used it in one of the components that came by default.
The backend:
Route::get('/', function () {
return "Hello from Laravel API";
});
and from inside the component:
console.log(process.env.API_URL)//Gives 127.0.0.1:8000
//But this gives undefined
this.$axios.$get(process.env.API_URL).then((response) => {
console.log(response);
});
}
What am I doing wrong here?
I have tried to describe my setup and problem as best as I can. If I overlooked something, please tell me and I will update my question. Thanks.
Taking for granted that visiting https://127.0.0.1:8000/ in your browser you get the expected response, lets see what might be wrong in the front end:
First you should make sure that axios module is initialized correctly. Your nuxt.config.js file should include the following
//inclusion of module
modules: [
'#nuxtjs/axios',
<other modules>,
],
//configuration of module
axios: {
baseURL: process.env.API_URL,
},
Keep in mind that depending on the component's lifecycle, your axios request may be occurring in the client side (after server side rendering), where the address 127.0.0.1 might be invalid. I would suggest that you avoid using 127.0.0.1 or localhost when defining api_uris, and prefer using your local network ip for local testing.
After configuring the axios module as above, you can make requests in your components using just relative api uris:
this.$axios.$get('/').then(response => {
console.log(response)
}).catch(err => {
console.error(err)
})
While testing if this works it is very helpful to open your browser's dev tools > network tab and check the state of the request. If you still don't get the response, the odds are that you'll have more info either from the catch section, or the request status from the dev tools.
Keep us updated!
Nuxt has a routing file stucture to make it easy to set up server side rendering but also to help with maintainability too. This can cause Laravel and Nuxt to fight over the routing, you will need to configure this to get it working correctly.
I'd suggest you use Laravel-Nuxt as a lot of these small problems are solved for you.

Laravel Passport Password Reset API route

I'm all set up with Passport in 5.5 and have the auto generated Auth\ForgotPasswordController and Auth\ResetPasswordController controllers.
However whereas /oauth/token was provided magically for me, there don't appear to be such routes for password reset when using the API.
What should my API routes look like?
Currently I've experimented with
Route::group(['prefix' => 'password'], function () {
Route::post('/email', 'Auth\ForgotPasswordController#sendResetLinkEmail');
Route::post('/reset', 'Auth\ResetPasswordController#reset');
});
but I found these in the vendor files when looking at the traits and aren't sure if this is the correct way.
The /password/email route also fails with "message": "Route [password.reset] not defined."
since you don't see any route other then 2 custom, therefore i am assumin you havn't run artisan auth command. First run that. it will add lot of routes in ur project.
Then set api driver to passport.

Laravel Socialite InvalidStateException in AbstractProvider.php line 200

I'm building a web app in my local system (Ubuntu-14.04 64Bit) using laravel 5.3. I used Socialite to signin from social networks. I configured G+, Facebook, GitHug. I'm using Chromium as my default browser. Finally the problem is i'm getting
InvalidStateException in AbstractProvider.php line 200
frequently. i tried
php artisan cache:clear
php artisan config:clear
composer dump-autoload
these are helping to solve the issue temporarily, again the problem raising.
please help me in this issue..
I have the same issue and I've read a lot about this, that depend if the URL where you are at the moment of the login request has www. at the beginning or not.
Into config\services.php, if you have the redirect set as http://sitename.tld/callback/facebook the oauth works if you send the login request from sitename.tld, while if you try from www.sitename.tld you get the exception.
I haven't yet understood how to have it working with and without www at the beginning.
If the AbstractProvider.php line 200 fires the exception when the state of the user is not present means that the User cannot be created.
First check your code when you get the details from the provider(facebook, github) if you create a user and you return it.
If you have managed and logged in your app and you deleted the user from the user table remember to delete also the data from the socialite account table.
I was getting that exception because 'state' wasn't saved in session. But I was using asPopup method - Socialite::driver('facebook')->asPopup()->redirect(); so I saved session then - $request->session()->save();. So I solved this issue.
or try
session()->put('state', $request->input('state'));
$user = Socialite::driver('facebook')->user();
it works
I have same issue and solved in 3 steps;
add request on the top
use Illuminate\Http\Request;
Pass request object to function
public function handleProviderCallback(Request $request)
{
try {
$user = Socialite::driver('facebook')->user();
} catch (Exception $e) {
throw new Exception;
}
}
Clear cache.
php artisan cache:clear
I had the same error but my solution was a little different. I am posting here just in case someone else keeps hitting this post like I did for a possible answer.
I develop on Ubuntu 18.04 desktop since it is a server with a GUI. Socialite works great locally but as soon as I pushed/pulled the changes through git to the server, it quit.
I was running traces by recording what was sent to and from google. I "dd($_GET)" to get a raw dump before Socialite had a chance to get the info so I knew what was stored and ready for use. All info was there but Socialite didn't seem to "see" it. That is when I reasoned it was my apache2 header configuration interfering with the cookies/session data.
I had set header security in my apache2 configs. One of the settings was
Header always edit Set-Cookie ^(.*) "$1;HttpOnly;Secure;SameSite=Strict"
This setting was interfering with the cookie information that socialite needed. I removed that setting from my apache2 header config(by commenting out) and restarted Apache. Finally I removed all sessions in storage/framework/session/* and cleared them from my browser just to be sure. That worked for me.
After I got it working, one by one enabled and tested each of the following settings to have the framework secure what header info it can:
SESSION_SECURE_COOKIE=true
in my .env file
'http_only' => true, and
'same_site' => 'lax'(setting to "strict" did not seem to work)
in my config/session.php file.
Now it is back to testing security and tweaking things back if need be.

Laravel 5 maintenance mode turn on without artisan

Is there any possibility to turn on and turn off Laravel 5 maintenance without php artisan up and down commands when my website is being hosted ?
What I've done:
Route::get('site/shutdown', function(){
return Artisan::call('down');
});
Route::get('site/live', function(){
return Artisan::call('up');
});
The first route is working fine. But when I call site/live the site still is shuted down. What can cause this problem ?
If your project is already down, you cannot call another function.
What happens after you run php artisan down is that it creates a file named down inside storage/framework. After running php artisan up the file is removed.
You can create the file manually inside storage/framework. It will down your project. When you want to take your project live again, just remove the file.
I think the right answer is missing here..
You could add your route to app/http/middleware/CheckForMaintenanceMode.php
protected $except = [
//here
];
So It never would be off.
when you run artisan down. site is not available so when try to call up, your IP can't access site.
you must call down with your IP exception.
php artisan down --allow=127.0.0.1 --allow=192.168.0.0/16
or add ::1 to local.
to make that in route without command
try to save this command in specific one and call it.
Laravel 8 introduced secret in maintenance mode, in which you can bypass the maintenance mode by providing a secret, then your Artisan::call would work.
You could add your routes to the $except var in CheckForMaintenanceMode middleware to bypass the check. Then your site/live route would work just fine.
In order to make your site live again using an url, you can create a live.php file which you put in laravel's public folder and then visit http://your.domain/live.php .
In the live.php file you need something like this: (check your projects directory structure if you don't use the default public folder!)
<?php
unlink(dirname(__FILE__) . "/../storage/framework/down");
header("Location: your.domain");
die;
just put
Artisan::call('up');
without route function.
