My laptop (Samsung RV-520) does not boot (load os) during press on power button. But after loading BIOS (by pressing F2) and save it (by pressing F10 without any change) it boots and starts normal.
NB: On Windows 10 this problem does not appear, but others (Windows 7, Ubuntu, Zorin, Linux Mint, Linux Lite) faces the problem.
It was a hardware problem in keyboard. After disconnecting the keyboard connection it works fine

I've recently swtiched from a Windows work PC to a Mac Book Pro. Most of my development work is done over an RDP connection to a Windows 2012 server.
When doing development work, I use IDE's and other tools that have custom keyboard shortcuts involving the Windows key. For instance, [win]+[backtick] is set to open a console. As long as I was connected to the RDP session in full-screen mode, the Windows key combinations were passed through to the RDP session and interperted correctly.
Howver, on my Mac Book Pro, I cannot trigger any of my custom Windows key shortcuts. What is weird, is that all of the built in Windows key shortcuts still work. For example. [win]+[e] opens Windows Explorer, and [win]+[d] still minimzes all windows to show the desktop. Also, pressing the Windows button by itself bring up the start menu, as normal. But none of the user assigned key combinations involving the Windows key work is any application (I've tried three apps). Custom key bindings involving the ctrl, alt, and shift keys work as expected.

I'm running:
Mac Book Pro 2017
MacOS Mojave 10.14
Microsoft Remote Desktop Version 10.1
I have the "Use Mac shortcuts for cut, copy, and paste" option unchcked from within Remote Desktop Client preferences.
Based on a different question and answer, it looks like there are some configuration files in Applications --> Microsoft Remote Desktop --> Package Contents --> Contents --> Resources --> Keyboard. However, I'm not sure what I would add to map [Win]+[something].
Check this repo
Probably you can adjust this configuration file for your goals
I was just wondering if it's possible (even with a third party software) to pass the touchpad gestures from a laptop running windows 10 to a pc (no touchpad available) using RD.
I`m interested especially in passing the swipe with four fingers gestures( the one that switches between desktops)
Thanks
try installing synaptics drivers(even if there is no touchpad) on the Remote Machine
btw
you can always use shortcut keys
check virtual desktop section on

I am brand new to docker with windows. I have installed the Docker toolbox version as my laptop cannot run hyper-v. After the installation of Docker Toolbox (OS is Windows 10 Home) I run Docker Quickstart Terminal and in the console, I see this:
Running pre-create checks...
Error with pre-create check: "This computer doesn't have VT-X/AMD-v enabled. Enabling it in the BIOS is mandatory"
Looks like something went wrong in step ´Checking if machine default exists´... Press any key to continue...
I have opened my BIOS menu to try to change this but I am not presented with an option to do so as if it's hidden. I've no idea how to get around this and other StackOverflow solutions are not fixing my issue.
My Laptop model is an Acer Aspire E1-531.
Any help on enabling the VT-X/AMD-v would be brilliant thanks
You really don't need a new laptop. If the virtualization is disabled, you may enable it while turning on your system.
From: https://amiduos.com/support/knowledge-base/article/enabling-virtualization-technology-in-hp-systems
Turn ON the System
Repeatedly press Esc key at startup.
Press the F10 key for BIOS Setup.
Press the right arrow key to System Configuration tab, Select Virtualization
Technology and then press the Enter key.
Select Enabled and press the Enter key.
Press the F10 key and select Yes and press the Enter key to save changes and Reboot.
Follow this link to see your laptop support VT-X/AMD-v. If not then you have no other choice other than changing your laptop to run hypervisors.
I have a dual monitor setup,
1: a computer monitor connected via vga
2: a samsung lcd tv conntected via dvi->hdim cable
Until yesterday, this setup was working just fine. Today when I booted windows 7, the bios & windows loading ... screen shows up fine on my lcd tv
however, when windows loads and shows my desktop, my TV goes blank, and I only get the desktop on my computer monitor.
When I go to "screen resolution" and "detect", I only see my computer monitor listed.
As far as I know, no new display drivers were installed, I am using nvadia gt300.
Also, since the bios/welcome screen does show up on my TV, I can root out the tv/cable being faulty.
has anyone encountered something similar before ?
I had exactly the same problem. I de- and reinstalled drivers, I deinstalled the 11/18 Windows Update, I turned my monitor off and on again at least a dozen times as did I unplug and replug the HDMI cable - nothing worked.
Then, in an act of despair, I unplugged my monitor's power cable, replugged it and.... here we go again!
HTH!

We have a counting meter hooked up to the serial port of a PC running Windows XP Embedded and everytime Windows starts, the meter starts clicking away about 90 times. We have tried using /fastdetect in boot.ini and it didn't work, even though it did work on XP Pro. We tried adding SkipEnumeration to the Device Parameter in the registry and it didn't work. When Plug&Play is disabled it won't click, but this isn't an option for us. Any other ideas? Thanks.
for anyone interested having this problem... I edited the Plug&Play registry and added a DependOnService multi-string with "Spooler" service as the data... this makes Plug&Play start later and allows enough time so that the meter isn't clicking crazy
