Nativescript-vue webview auto play video - nativescript

I think what I’ve learned from this answer is that autoplaying videos in a webview inline (a term I think means “not full view”?) on iOS isn’t possible unless you add code to tns-core-modules?

am I right?

Template that allows full screen image in android auto app?

I am trying to make an Android Auto app that displays an image full-screen or at least 80% of the screen. I can use the PaneTemplate to get mostly a split screen with text and an image but not what I am looking for. Of course maps / nav can use most of the screen but not any other template I can see. Any ideas?
I don't think we have currently templates to do that. PaneTemplate was something I would play but it's like playing with hacks.
I suggest reporting this at official issue tracker as "feature request" (Googlers are really reading that)

Are there any visual differences between WKWebView and UIWebView?

I wanted to migrate away from the deprecated UIWebView in Xamarin Forms iOS, and I read online that WKWebView is now the default in Xamarin Forms 4.x, and I was currently in 3.6.0.x.
So I decided to update hoping that the Webview would automatically update for me, but I realized there is no way to tell because I don't know what, and if there even is a difference in how the webviews look. I've looked online but can't find any side by side pictures of the same app/interface using WK vs. UI. Is there a difference at all?
The only difference I saw after updating, was that on one of the pages, the loading icon wouldn't disappear whereas it did after a couple of seconds in UI.
Thanks!
Welcome to StackOverflow! :)
The easiest way to answer this question is simply going to be to test it. To my knowledge, both UIWebView and WKWebView use the exact same underlying WebKit code/engine to render HTML content. There may be differences due to separate defaults and properties that one has vs. the other, but for the most part, they should be identical. But you shouldn't take my word for it! If you can, give it a try.

How to replicate code for Facebook image gestures?

I am developing an educational app that is made of multiple images. I am also new at coding and XCode. I wanted to know how to get my images so they respond to the gesture similar to the photos on facebook (swiping, min/max zooming, scrolling all on one image). I have the UIImage in UIScrollview.
Can I add all the gestures in UIScrollView or do I have to add each gesture separately? Because the app is made up of multiple png images do I have to connect each image separately or is there a method to implement one code for the entire program?
I am using Storyboard and have minimal coding.
If this information is already out there I would greatly appreciate some direction. I have tried to use "Basic Zooming Using the Pinch Gestures" from the iOS library with little success.
Check out this tutorial.

In this they go over exactly what your wanting, zooming in and out images and swiping. Pretty much you use UIGestureRecognizers. :)

Is there a standard Control for creating an in-app video player?

Im making a videoplayer in a wp7 app. Im using mediaelement to show the video, and sets its source from a url. Functionality i wanted are play/stop-buttons, forwarding/rewinding, a progressindicator (for the progress of the video itself) and show a progressbar when it buffers. I have accomplished all above, using some customized grids, buttons and so on.
I did get some trouble though, which i dont want to bother you with here (its a mess) and which is why im asking the following:
Is there a standard (or downloadable) control for wp7 that does all these things for me and that works perfectly. Ive searched "everywhere" but couldnt find anything. It surprises me that this isnt an easy to use, built in control that is easy to customize, since standard videoplayers are something id guess alot of apps could take advantage of.
Anyone?
Here is a tutorial on how to create a Windows Phone 7 View Model Style Video Player.

WebView slow loading

In a cocoa / Mac app I am using a WebView to load a series of YouTube videos (5). When it is loading my whole application locks up for 5 seconds or so.
Is there a way I can load it so it doesn't freeze the rest of the application?
Thanks
eg:
[[webView mainFrame] loadHTMLString:html baseURL:[NSURL URLWithString:#"http://youtube.com"]];
Unfortunately, you cannot render a WebView except on the main thread. This is a basic limitation of the class. I would begin investigating why your page takes so long to render. My hunch: Javascript or a plugin.
I usually like to start by using Safari to see if it has the same issues. You can drag an HTML file onto Safari to load it easily. If Safari shows the same problem, then you can use Safari's Develop tools to profile it. (Preferences, Advanced, Show Develop menu in menu bar.)
If Safari doesn't have a problem, that's actually good, because it means your problem is definitely solvable (if Safari can do it, you should be able to achieve the same thing). Here are some things to try out:
Instruments. Try to see what WebView is taking its time on. Focus first on "all samples" for the main thread. This is usually what leads to the app hanging.
Simplification. Try stripping things out of the webview, especially javascript, until you find the piece that's causing the problem.
Implement the WebResourceLoadDelegate methods to see what piece seems to be causing the problem. The information given by this can be misleading, since it has to do with when things are downloaded, not when they are rendered, but it can give a sense of where in the page you're hanging.
