I running Visual Studio Community 2013 Update 5. I have installed Crystal Reports for Visual studio. It is
CR for VS 13 SP 13.
CRforVS13SP25_0-10010309
As soon as I open a crystal report and start doing anything on it, the whole VS freezes. I am unable to open other aspx pages.

I am trying to install Microsoft RDLC Report Designer in Visual Studio 2017. For my install attempt I went to Tools--> Extensions and Updates and selected RDLC Report Designer and clicked download. It began the installation process and then failed with a Modifications Failed box shown on the attached see screen shot. I also tried to install the RDLC Report Designer from the Marketplace and got the same error. Any idea why this is happening? I have Visual Studio 2013 installed on the same machine with RLDC installed for it, could that be the problem?1
The only things I saw in the installation log that stood out were:
Capping recursion at 5 directories in each extension root due to 'default limit'.
5/2/2022 12:35:06 PM - Skipping 'C:\Users\peter\AppData\Local\Microsoft SDKs' as it doesn't exist
5/2/2022 12:35:06 PM - The extension with ID '717ad572-c4b7-435c-c166-c2969777f718' is not installed to Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2017.

I was able to get the RDLC Report Designer and Report Server Project installed by updating visual studio and then installing the extensions.

Report is created in visual studio 2010 and have installed SAP crystal report, version for visual studio 2010 v13.0.3 and SAP crystal report runtime engine for .NET framework(64-bit).
I've crystal report 13.0.2000 that I'm having problem with. When I open a report and change the page setup settings like margins,orientation, etc and try to save it, it crashes, saying program stopped working.
My solution is to remove all printers in my computer. This issue comes when printer driver is corrupted.
I have Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise. After installing Crystal report for visual studio I can't add a new item of type of crystal report. I restarted the visual studio and my PC but I can't see this. I went to control panel and see that Crystal report already installed.
What is wrong?
My visual studio website project shows there are 2 errors however does not show them in the list. Any idea? Restarting visual studio and computer does not fix the issue.

Fixed this by turning the error list filter off. Guess since this is a website and does not have a project it hides the errors when any of the filter options are selected.
So I'm trying to do what I think is a very simple thing: generate a Windows Phone app with PhoneGap and open it in Visual Studio. On a totally fresh Windows installation (via Bootcamp), I've:
Downloaded Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows (the very first download button: http://developer.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk)
Created a PhoneGap Windows Phone app per the Getting Started guide.
However, every time I try to open the csproj file, I keep getting this error:
Unsupported
This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them.
For more information on enabling these project types or otherwise migrating your assets, please see the details in the "Migration Report" displayed after clicking OK.

No changes required
These projects can be opened in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 without changing them.

No matter what I do. It works totally fine on Visual Studio 2012 for Windows Phone. I've tried it on VS 2013 for Desktop, and that doesn't work either. No clue what is happening here, and don't know even where to start to figure out what's wrong. I've Googled extensively to no avail; basically all instances of this error seem to have to do with previous version of VS. Pointing in any direction would be very much appreciated.
Turns out Update 2 wasn't getting installed correctly. I ended up installing Visual Studio and the Update 2 separately and Update 2 got installed successfully. Everything works now.
