Can I open multidimesional model in Visual studio from SAP BW Query? - visual-studio

I have installed Visual Studio 2017 with SSDT extension.
There is a Query (on OLAP) in SAP BW. I can connect to this query using Analysis for Office from Excel to see the data from this query. This connection is made through Insert Data source using SAP logon and my credentials.
My question is - Can I open the Query in Visual Studio like a Project? I mean not just see the data without any relationships, but to see the table and design views? How can I import the Model into Visual Studio?
Thank you

You need Microsoft BW Connector installed which is a part of Microsoft® SQL Server® 2016 Feature Pack and also you need BI Developer Extensions for Visual Studio (SSDT) which you supposedly already have.
Just select SAP BW Source as a data source in Visual Studio and follow the instructions from this guide. Finally you should have something like this

how to create oracle database project in Visual studio 2013

I was trying to create a new oracle Database project in Visual studio 2013 but not able to find the right framework to do so. The closest I can find in VS 2013 is "SQLserver Database project" , which is not Oracle.
I am looking for a solution(plug-in/ tutorial) to create the same from couple of days but didn't get anything helpful.
following are the closest but didn't help for a beginner like me :
How to create Oracle database project using Visual studio 2010?
How to create a database project in Visual Studio 2013
If you are using the Ultimate/Enterprise editions of Visual Studio, here is the information you need to connect.
Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio (ODT) is a tightly integrated "Add-in" for Microsoft Visual Studio. Download ODT here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/visual-studio/overview/index-097110.html
Then, connect your application to an Oracle database using the .NET Framework Data Provider for Oracle. [source]
In the Choose Data Source dialog box, select Oracle Database, and click OK.
If the Add Connection dialog box opens, and the Data source is not Oracle Database, click Change to open the Choose/Change Data Source dialog box. For more information, see Choose/Change Data Source Dialog Box.
Type the name of the server where the database you want to access is located.
Type the User name and Password used to access the database, if required. For more information, see Add/Modify Connection (Oracle).
Click OK.

Visual Studio 2013 Express has no MS-Reports Template Installed

When I Google and look up how to add a RDLC report to my Visual Studio 2013 Project I get the answer i'd expect, usually "In the Templates pane, select Report or Report Wizard"
This article is one of them: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252067(v=VS.100).aspx
Nowhere can I find anything about "what if there is no Reports section" in your installed Templates
For the last month I thought this was because I needed to download SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2013. Yesterday I installed this. As a result I now appear to have a new version of Visual Studio 2013 called "Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Integrated)". It has a purple icon and loads with a black splash image
My Project is currently running and being developed in Visual Studio 2013 Express for Web which has a green icon
If I try to load my project into the new Integrated Shell VS 2013 I get errors. What I really want is just to have the template available so I can add RDLC reports
I have already used MuGet to install MvcReportViewer and set my web config etc and references. Following instructions at https://www.nuget.org/packages/MvcReportViewer/
Now I need to create an RDLC but have no Template to do so
Could it be that VS-2013 Express has this feature turned off, because if I go into Help/About VS2013 Express for Web it has SQL Server Data Tools 12.0.30919.1 as an Installed product
Any comments appreciated
As far as I know, you can't use VS 2013 Express to edit RDLC files. It requires at least the professional version.
See: http://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/navteam/archive/2013/12/19/microsoft-visual-studio-2013-now-supported-for-rdlc-report-design.aspx
You can, however, create them in Sql Server Reporting Services, which is part of the advanced version of Sql Server Express Edition, using SQL Server Business Intelligence Developer Studio (BIDS) Express.
Try to download (Microsoft Report viewer 2012 run-time)
& Report Builder3
- First is the tool that display & Print Report.
- Report Builder is the tool that you can design report with it.
You Must have SQL Server 2012 Installed

Is there any tool available to design and edit tables of SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0

Are there any tools available to design and edit tables in a SQL Server CE 4.0 database?
I am using Visual Studio 2012, I can find the tables and its columns and properties etc. But seems I can't edit table's column properties.
Any standalone third party tools and or plugins any plugin in Visual Studio 2012/2012 for this?
Did you look at the SQL Server Compact Toolbox extension?
Add it to Visual Studio with the Tools\Extensions and Updates menu, then search the Online node.
SQL Server Compact 3.5 and 4.0 Toolbox add-in for Visual Studio. This
add-in adds several features to help your SQL Server Compact
development efforts: Scripting of tables and data, import from SQL

Differences: creating sql database in visual studio & sql sever 2008

I usually use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 for system development and I always use the built-in SQL Server Express in Visual Studio to create and manage a database.
Currently, I'm learning Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 to create and manage a database.
I got some questions here:
What is the differences of the database in built-in sql server in Visual Studio & SQL Server Management Studio? Such as features and limitations.
Will it be better to create and manage database in SQL Server Management Studio instead of the built-in visual studio database?
I encounter a problem which is unable to upload my built-in Visual Studio SQL database to the web server in the past. So is creating database in SQL Server Management Studio much ideal for uploading database file to web server?
Thanks in advance.
Te latest versions of SSMS say "powered by Visual Studio" so your question could be moot. I think using SSMS gets you slightly closer to the database server itself -- which if you are doing admin too may be a good thing.

How to upgrade VS2008 reporting Schema from 2005 to 2008

As you all know Visual Studio using 2005 schema to create RDLC reports.
SSRS 2008 use 2008 schema to create RDL reports.
So I'm looking for a solution to change VS 2005 schema to 2008 schema. How to do this.
will this issue fix with installing Report Viewer 2010 or not ?
You should be able to install Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) from the SSRS2008 install, and then just open the old reports in it, they get automatically updated to the new schema. But this will also mean that your report will no longer run on SSRS2005.
