Please and advise on how to have it up and running?!

I am trying to start remote development using JetBrains Gateway and CLion.
My client is Windows, server is Linux. I am stuck with following error when I try to actually start development: "Error launching JetBrainsClient: Cannot find VM options file".
The error occurs after Gateway starts CLion on remote machine and is trying to start "window application" on my client.
I am confused, because .vmoptions for Gateway, i.e. gateway64.exe.vmoptions is present in the bin folder of Gateway installation.
Anybody got idea how to fix it?
I updated my app to the latest TomCat 9 available and after update TomCat service failed to start successfully as Windows service. I just see 404 error when trying to open the TomCat app. Also there are no logs at all in the log directory!
If I start TomCat locally by the command tomcat9.exe" //TS//MyApp it started successfully.
OS: Windows 7 and Server 2012
Does anybody have any ideas of how to troubleshoot this issue?
I think I had the same problem.
By default, Tomcat9 installs a service to run as "LOCAL SERVICE" instead of "SYSTEM".
I found that if you go the properties on your service and select the "Log On" option "Local System account", that it will then start to work.
In my case tomcat wouldn't log what the problem was, so there was no easy way to diagnose this.
Maybe this could be diagnosed by running Process Monitor, then seeing what directory it wanted to log to, then change the permissions on that directory so that any user could write to it.
Tomcat has a new option to launch as s SYSTEM: --ServiceUser=LocalSystem
Add it to the tomcat9w.exe //IS// --ServiceUser=LocalSystem
I am trying to install Jenkins slave service after starting the slave via web start.
I get the following error when it tries to install on windows 10 and windows 8.1.
[JenkinsWorkDirectory]$ c:\JenkinsWorkDirectory\jenkins-slave.exe install
WMI.WmiException:AccessDenied
at WMI.WmiRoot.ClassHandler.Invoke(Object proxy, MethodInfo method, Object[] args)
at WMI.Win32ServicesProxy.Create(String, String, String, ServiceType, ErrorControl, StartMode, Boolean, String, String, String[])
at winsw.WrapperService.Run(String[]_args,ServiceDescriptor descriptor)
at winsw.WrapperService.Main(String[]args).
I can install the slave service without any issue on win 7.
Any idea why is this happening or is it some limitation of Jenkins or am i missing some dependency?
My jenkins version is 1.655 and using chrome browser when installing. Jenkins master is running on windows 7.
Thanks,
Daniel
I found another way to get the slave to install.
Open a command window with "Run as Administrator".
Change directory to the place where you saved the slave-agent.jnlp file.
at the prompt run "slave-agent.jnlp"
Now with the running slave click the menu item to "Install as Service".
The trick is to do it while running as an administrator. This installs the service running under localsystem.
Additionally, if you're like me and you need your jenkins routines to hit another machine, you'll need to change the service to run as a user with permission (network or otherwise) to do the task you want done.
Open a command window with "Run as Administrator".
Just in case, You may have trouble with the .jnlp in "Steve Brownell" instructions, then, run the first line of your error message, shown below.
c:\JenkinsWorkDirectory\jenkins-slave.exe install
goto your downloaded jenkins-slave.exe Application file.
goto properties -> compatibility -.> check run as administrator.
Now try installing it as service again. It will work.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\javaws.exe" slave-agent.jnlp just run this from command prompt my issue got resolved from this as an administrator
I am trying to run the Visual Studio Windows Phone Emulator but I get those errors :
Severity Code Description Project File Line
Error Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connecting to the device '8BDF218D-FDBB-4A97-90F9-3AA33B559A92'.':
NullReferenceException - Invalid pointer App1
Severity Code Description Project File Line
Error Error : DEP6200 : Bootstrapping 'Mobile Emulator 10.0.10240.0 WVGA 4 inch 512MB' failed. Device cannot be found. App1
And the Emulator fails to run.
You cannot run an emulator on a Azure VM. Hyper-V cannot be nested, which is what you would need.
Right now the best approach is to run the emulator locally (Win8/10) or download the files and install on a Windows Phone.
Are you running Windows or a Mac/Linux?
Can somebody tell me how to register mscomm32.ocx. I pasted it in system32 and then tried to register using "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mscomm32.ocx" . Even then i got some error message something like this:
"the file was loaded but it is unable to register error 0x8002801". I use 32 bit OS Windows 7
I would be pleased if someone helped me with this.
You may need to run in it as an administrator. My recommendation would be to start a command prompt as the administrator (right-click on the Command Prompt icon in the Start menu and select "Run as Administrator").
That's a guess based on this article - DLLRegisterserver failed with error code 0x8002801
