I am trying to install Git on IntelliJ IDEA Community edition and I got bunch of errors. After closing those errors nothing is installed. I tried to google for solutions, but unsuccessful. Maybe anyone have suggestions what to do? I added some screens to show the errors. Thank you in advance.
P.S. I tried to install Git directly to Windows, but same situation happaned. Same errors.
EDIT: SOLVED.
Actually for this problem solution I was looking around 4 hours... Feeling so happy to find the right way!
So the thing what I did to solve:
1. Updated my windows to latest.
2. Deleted all applications related to Git.
3. Went to regedit and followed the given instructions which I found by googling:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> SERVICES -> NULL and there you will find file called Start. Change the existing value to 1.
4. Restart your operation system.
5. Install necessary Git applications.
That was it. Thanks for the answers!

When I save a golang file in visual studio code, it ends up being corrupted -- characters are removed, not in any pattern I have discerned. This has occurred at various times in the past, but has just now recurred. For details, see my bug report, "corrupting file when saving in visual studio code #49465"1.
In the meantime, what I can do until it's fixed? Perhaps I could return to an older version of gopls, but I don't know how to do that.
Any suggestions welcome. I'm stuck until I can successfully save and run my go programs.
Thanks!
Please try running the following command
GO111MODULE=on go get golang.org/x/tools/gopls#master golang.org/x/tools#master
or
GO111MODULE=on go get golang.org/x/tools/gopls#v0.3.2-pre1
In order to make progress on my project, I've downloaded the prior version of go. At least on Windows, the downgrade installs like any upgrade, including offering to remove the existing version.
And I backed up gopls to its previous version using the facilities of VS Code:
ctrl+shift+X to access extensions
right-click on Go
select Install Another Version
wait...wait...wait...
when the list of versions finally appears, select the one you want (I went back a month)
So, the underlying problem still exists, but I'm back in business. I hope these instructions can help someone else battling with the disappearing character bug.
Can anyone help me out whilst I still have some hair left.
I have been running VSCode on Windows 10 since January. Yesterday it attempted to update to the latest version 1.54 but failed. VSCoce will now not run.
I am trying to re-install from the VSCode site installer. However when I download and run the installer file windows gives an error saying the file is corrupt.
Windows Error Message
I seem to remember having this problem when installing the 1.52 version in January but I can find no reference to what I did to resolve this. I believe I was pointed to an alternative install program, but I cannot find this now.
Please can anyone assist?
Many thanks.
Colin Murdoch.
OK. I have now managed to re-install VScode by downloading the .zip file and extracting all the elements into a directory within Program Files. It remains to be seen if this will work properly as with no official install routine, nothing will have been added to the registry. However the program loads OK and seems to recognise the PlatformIO extension that was already loaded.
I still don’t understand why I cannot run the official install routines. There must be something odd about my Windows installation.
check your antivirus program. I recognize that message. I had the same issue when trying to install an SQL server.
I know this issue has been discussed here before. But after I followed the suggestions and added the paths via Visual Studio, I'm still stuck:
In VS, I have:
Additional Include Directories: C:\local\boost_1_58_0
Additional Library Directories: C:\local\boost_1_58_0\libs
When I built QuantLib within VS, I could see C:\local\boost_1_58_0 is among the included paths. I can also see the valid config.hpp file in C:\local\boost_1_58_0\boost and unit_test.hpp in C:\local\boost_1_58_0\boost\test. Nevertheless I still got the C1083 error.
Have been stuck for 2+ days, I'm puzzled how to get around this. Any advice?
Thanks much in advance!
Follow the official instructions at http://quantlib.org/install/vc10.shtml. In VS 10 and beyond, include and library paths are set through the Property Manager. Steps 5 and 6 in the instructions linked above describe the procedure. You might want to exit and restart the IDE to make sure that the changes are saved.
For anyone else looking for the location of Property Manager and using VS2015 - I found it on the fourth tab at the bottom of the Solution Explorer pane, please see image attached. enter image description here
I've installed Eclipse 4.2 Juno. Now I want to install aptana for developing ruby, but I get the following error,
Unable to read repository at http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install/content.jar.
Unable to read repository at http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install/content.jar.
Read timed out
I assume that by now you have probably solved the problem, but I had exactly the same problem and found the solution after many searches, so for the sake of any others searching here...
The URL you need to enter in the 'Install New Software' dialog is
http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install
The following answer was correct. I just tested it with Eclipse Juno.
Steps:
Open Eclipse
Help -> Install New Software
Add (on the top right)
Enter the following link for Aptana Plugin with Eclipse Juno: http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install
Click OK
Put a check mark for Aptana Studio 3
Next -> Next -> Finish
download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install did not work for me. I am using Eclipse 4.3 based STS 3.4
Instead I got the appropriate update site link from this site Aptana Update Site
This is the link for Eclipse plugin update site http://d1iwq2e2xrohf.cloudfront.net/tools/studio/plugin/install/studio3/3.4.2.201308081736/
There is also a link to download the plugin and install through archive. I have used the above update site link and no problem at all.
Hope that will help others.
Adding this answer in case somebody still gets this error while using the correct URL from JonB's answer (http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install )
Restart Eclipse and try again.
This appears to be a transient issue, as mentioned here:
Aptana studio 3 cannot contact download.ecplise.org
It worked for me after a retry.
I also gone through same problem. But Following solution works for me,
In Eclipse, go to "Eclipse Marketplace" and search for Aptana 3 and hit the Install button.
Help -> Eclipse MarketPlace
Eclipse Market place - Aptana 3 Studio plugin
I wondered myself whether to install the standalone or the plugin. I tried the plugin based on aptanaès instructions and it failed on the first try.
As usual SO respondents reported this problem.
I restarted Eclipse, and then did the install with Aptanaès URL
http://download.aptana.com/studio3/plugin/install
and it worked.
My environment was Eclipse JUNO,
As of 01/29/18 and Eclipse Photon, none of the URLs listed as answers here work in Eclipse's built-in software sources panel. However, after some trial and error mashing up Aptana's old download URLs with the ones Appcelerator (which bought Aptana in 2015) uses for its own software, I got:
http://download.appcelerator.com/aptana/studio3/plugin/update/stable
This works, is totally plug-and-play, and is obviously official - no need to go off to some shady 3rd party hosting site. I just wish someone at Appcelerator had spent 15 minutes to post it somewhere.
Install two version Xcode, 4.2 in /Developer and 4.0.1 in /Developer2, located in different directory on theory both of them should work well, no disturb between the two, but the fact is that now neither of them can launch successfully.
My questions:
1, Is it possible to let them coexist? If yes, possible error for my installation?
2. How can I find more clues why launch failed?
Any idea or discussion will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
#bandejapaisa is correct, I have 3 on my machine; you can un-install these xcode (remember to restart after each un-installation) and install one by one; it should work
