So, I have got a pcap file which I opened with Wireshark tool. Now, there are 4 files I can find through the HTTP filter:
1. A docx file
2. A pdf file
3. A txt file
4. PNG file
I extracted the PNG image file by the following :
Right click on the packet -> follow -> Using TCP -> Converted the file from ASCII to raw -> Searched for 'FFD8' and 'FFD9 and copy pasted the raw network text to HxD Hex editor and saved it as PNG.
I don't know how to view the contents of the rest. I am using a Windows 10 system. Any help would be appreciated.

Wireshark has the ability to export files from HTTP. On Macos & Windows, you can find this in the GUI as
File > Export Objects > HTTP

You can also do this with tshark with tshark --export-objects http,$dest_dir. tshark.dev has an article on using this here.

My task is to convert Excel .xls file to Excel-XML format file(here). Edit cell values and write it back to .xls.
Convert from xls to xml maybe can't be done automatically. Editing file is easy with XMLTABLE and XMLQUERY in Oracle. When I save XML content with XLS extension it give me Error:
The file you are trying to open MyFile.xls is in a different format than
specified by the file extension. Verify the file is not corrupted and
is from trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open
the file now?
When I select "Yes" option file is opening and everything work fine. I want to avoid this Error/Warning message.
There is some way to convert Excel-XML file to other Excel's format and not xml? I know the problem is that I change only file extension without change format, but maybe there is solution hint excel to open file without Warning or convert to real xls.
Notes:
Error/Warning can be see displayed edit file content. Steps are: Open Excel file, Save as Excel XML(file is save with .xml extension), Close file, Rename file extension to .xls, Open file with Excel and Error is displayed.
I have a power point file(.pptx) generated by a program that copies xml files and content files in a slide to other slides. It simply extracts xml files and content files from original power point file and then copies xml files, finally compresses the files as a zip file and renames the file to xxxxx.pptx. (The xml files I mentioned here is, of course, about Office Open XML)
When I open this file in Keynote on Mac OS X, it works well. No error happened.
However when I use PowerPoint application on Mac OS X, the app says "PowerPoint found a problem with content in xxxxx.pptx"
I think there are differences between PowerPoint specs and Keynote specs, so I need to apply the generated pptx file to the PowerPoint specs.
But, the error does not say WHERE or WHAT ERROR IS OCCURRED, but says there are some errors in that file.
So I cannot look for where is damaged in the generated file!
How do I detect the errors in the file or validate the format of it?
I do not want to get 'restore tools' but 'error detection tools'.
I simply used Open XML SDK 2.5 Productivity Tool.
In my situation, it said the Content-Type of xml files was different from expected one when I opened the pptx file. Soon, it occurred to me I forgot to change the data in [Content_Types].xml
After I fixed it, the file is opened without problems now!!
This app also shows codes in C# and validate each xml files individually.

I am new to Visual basic 6 and I use it to run a code (not written by me) for my data analysis. One of the output file is tmaze1.1.rmap
I am not able to open this file. what I know is, it has values in a 64 by 48 array.
I tried opening it through notepad, wordpad etc but it only shows symbols.
Please help.

Try opening the file with a Hex editor. Google "free hex editor" to download one if you don't already have one installed. The Hex editor will allow you to read the values inside the file.
I'm trying to use MCK(map comparison kit) but all I have right now is ArcMap file. According to the MCK user manual, it says MCK supports log file. So I tried to convert ArcMap to log file by renaming to ".log", but MCK shows that it is an empty log file.
So i was wondering what is the way to correctly convert ArcMap file to log file? Thanks!
This might be a bit late, but just in case:
I assume you have a Arc ASCII file, which is one of the file formats MCK supports. You can't simply convert ASCII file into log file, since log file only contains pointers to raster images of a certain theme. ASCII file contains much more, like headers and the actual data.
You can create a new log file in MCK by choosing New from the File menu in the Menu bar. This opens the Log File Editor, and there you can specify the contents of the log-file with an easy UI. There is an Import button, which allows you to import the ASCII files. If you have downloaded the MCK software, just see the User Guide that comes with it. It has the whole Log File Editor explained!
So I was writing a paper on Microsoft Word and the file is corrupt now. I'm trying to see if I can open the file using vim, but it says it is binary. Is there any command or any way to convert it into text so that I can just vim myfile.doc and copy the text contents? I tried doing a cp myfile.doc myfile.txt to change the extension but it still says it's binary.
A doc file is a proprietary format by Microsoft. Docx formats are xml based but neither can be read directly using a text editor. If your file is corrupt you're probably going to have a lot more luck try to find the autosave location or try and recover the document using the tool office provides. In future remember to back up your work ;)
/usr/bin/strings may be helpful -- built-in to OS X. Hope you can recover your paper.
.doc or .docx is not a plane txt file. It has several formatting and a bit of binary and in .docx xml factor included.
You can go for OpenOffice which is Free.
You might try using Antiword to convert to .txt if it can still access the file properly.

Word itself has an option to "Recover Text From Any File" which is worth trying if you haven't done so already. When you open the file in Word, if it doesn't recognise the format, you should see a conversion dialog and the option is in there. You might have to check the "Confirm conversion at open" option (e.g. "Word Preferences->General->Confirm conversion at open" on Mac Word 2011, "File->Options->Advanced->General->Confirm file format conversion on open" on Windows Word 2010.
