Msbuild Issue in Jenkins - visual-studio

I am new in CI/CD deployment and I want to CI/Cd of ASP.net Project in Jenkins
Note : this project is working fine VS 2017
I am Building abc.sln with command line arrgument /p:OutDir=c:\Samplelocation\;Configuration=release
when I am building the abc.sln then I did not get the Build code as in VS 2017
It gives all directory which is on (Bitbucket) but I need the compile code include .git and .gitignore
I have checked in c:]Samplelocation then it gives me exe file
can anyone please help me on the same.

Error while running MSBuild.SonarQube.Runner against C# project

I’m trying to use MSBuild SonarQube scanner for my C# project. RootFolder has a .sln file, and each project (.csproj) is created in a separate folder inside the root folder. I've the project property file in RootFolder.
SonarQube server (LTS version 6.7.5) is up fine.
My Current env details:
Visual Studio 2010
.Net Framework 4.5.2
MSBuild version 4
sonarScanner for MSBuild 4.3.1.1372
Sonar Csharp Plugin version : 7.3.2.6129
When I’m trying to run below ‘begin’ command from project root directory, I see this error:

Unhandled Exception: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: '!!0[] System.Array.Empty()'.

at MSBuild.SonarQube.Runner.Program.Main(String[] args)
I guess it has something to do with compatibility of .Net Framework or MSBuild version ?
Also, what's the role of visual studio here, I already got.sln, .csproject and their corresponding .cs files in respective project directory under RootFolder 'myProjectCsharp'
(I don’t see any error if I simply run the sonar-scanner-msbuild-4.3.1.1372-net46\sonar-scanner-3.2.0.1227\bin\sonar-scanner but this doesn’t seems to update anything on dashboard (Just show 0 Bugs,Vulnerabilities & code smells) )
Any clue please ?

VS2017 MSB4057 The target "CreateManifestResourceNames" does not exist in the project

When VS2017 was used to create a stateful solution, producing the standard boilerplate code, the resulting two projects have two different MSBuild versions.
The application uses MSBuild version 1.5.0.
The service uses MSBuild version 1.6.0 (the current "latest").
If I run the solution this way, it runs fine on my local Service Fabric cluster.
But when after I use NuGet to update the application's MSBuild to 1.6.0 (so both application and server projects use the same), the following errors occur.

I found that after the change, some references in the application's project file continued to reference MSBuild 1.5.0. In my case, the gt_strd5.sfproj file contained four references which needed to be updated from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0. See the snippets from the XML below.

To verify this, I went back a couple times and was able to reproduce both the issue and this solution.

I was getting this error into PCF control.
Run Developer Command Prompt VS2017/ VS2019
a) Remove white space from your folder like Test%20-%20PCFs (source control generated name) should be TestPCFs
b) Go to pcf project folder from cmd line & run msbuild /t:restore
b) Go to cds project folder from cmd line & run msbuild /t:restore
c) On cds project folder, run msbuild
d) For release deployment run msbuild /p:configuration=Release
For other types of projects
a) Remove white space from your folder name
b) run msbuild /t:restore
c) run msbuild

TeamCity publish using Visual Studio 2015

I've read many articles on publishing from TeamCity using various versions of Visual Studio. I'm currently using v.9.1.7 of TeamCity and Visual Studio 2015.
I have my 3 build steps on check-in:
Clean & Rebuild
Unit Test
Publish
When I check in my files I get a Tests Passed success message:
I can tell from here something isn't right as I'm expecting it to say something about publishing. When I look at the Build Log I see the following:

My Publish Build Step is setup this way:
In my API project in Visual Studio I can publish to the correct location on the network. Here is my publish profile:
I'm not sure what I'm missing. I'm expecting the Publishing build step to work like when I click the Build->Publish menu item in Visual Studio.
I'm guessing that I'm missing something or misunderstanding what the publishing build step is supposed to do.
Any help is appreciated.
I was able to get it to work after days and days of searching. I found part of the answer here on Stack Overflow. The trick was to get it to work from the MSBuild Command Line:
C:\TFS\project\myProject\APIproject>msbuild apiproject.csproj
/p:DeployOnBuild=true
/p:PublishProfile="Properties\PublishProfiles\DEV.pubxml"
/p:VisualStudioVersion=14.0
Once I got this running several times I was able to create a Build Step in Team City (see this question/answer) and I set the following:
Build file path: <location of the apiproject.csproj>
MSBuild version: Microsoft Build Tools 2015
MSBuild ToolsVersion: 14.0
Run platform: x86
Command Line Parameters: /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile= "C:\TFS\API\API\Properties\PublishProfiles\DEV.pubxml" /p:VisualStudioVersion=14.0
IIRC, publishing from TeamCity requires certain files or alternatively VS installed on the build agent (which really isn't recommendable). Have you copied the necessary files to the build agent?
Where are artifacts location defined.
And you can use Tentacles for publishing build into various environments.
I guess, you need to look towards artifacts configurations.
You can use MSBuild runner to Deploy your Application/API
Add Command line parameter :
/t:Clean /p:DeployOnBuild=true /t:build /t:publish /p:PublishProfile=C:\_works\teamcity\publishprofiles\Publiush_Profile.pubxml /p:VisualStudioVersion=12.0
PublishPrfile URL should be your publish profile path.
This will work for you.
VS will probably find your publish profile with just the name, like:
/p:DeployOnBuild=true;/p:PublishProfile=DEV; very useful if you run more than one build agent.
And if you're deploying to an IIS you might need to add AllowUntrustedCertificate=true;

Building zip file with Visual Studio

I am using Visual Studio 2013 to develop a website. The website is on github, and I have a server for continuous integration set up with Teamcity.
I am trying to get the website to automatically deploy to AWS when I change it on github. I have Teamcity hooked up, but the AWS CLI is having some issues, so I need to compile the solution in Teamcity into a zip file so that I can deploy to AWS using a workaround.
I've tried editing the project files for an MSBuild fix...I managed to get a zip file output. However, I ran into problems with general compilation.
What I am wondering is, since I can publish a website package from Visual Studio, is it possible to compile as if I was publishing using the build commands from TeamCity (or the command line) so that the result is the compiled project and the website files needed to run the site in a zip file?
you can create a zipped artifact in TeamCity. Simply build the project then set the artifacts for the build like this:
outputFolder\*.dll=>myzipfile.zip
outputFolder\*.whatever=>myzipfile.zip
etc
obviously you'll need to change outputFolder to be where the files are actually output by the build and the patterns to macth the files you want

Publish doesn't work from build definition VS2012

What I thought would be simple is not. All I am trying to do is get MSBuild to copy website files to another server after my build.
In my Build definition Under Process --> Advance --> MSBuild Arguments I put
/p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
It builds fine but it never copies files to destination
BUT when I run this command locally, IT WORKS!!!!!
msbuild /p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
I have VS 2012 installed in Build Server so I think all the necessary files are there.
What is the problem?

REPRODUCTION STEPS
Created new website project
Made sure it worked on local machine
using development server
Checked code in TFS
Created a build definition using all the default settings Under the Process -->
Advance --> MSBuild Arguments I put
/p:DeployOnBuild=true /p:PublishProfile=WebsiteProfile
The publish profile copies the changeset to a remote server.
Installing the Web Tools 2012.2 update on the build server fixed this issue for me after I read this post and Scott Gu's Blog. I don't have Visual Studio installed on the server but installing the update got my DeployOnBuild working. I hope that helps.
