Shell.Current.GoToAsync is not working on UWP - xamarin

I want to use Xamarin.Forms Shell on the UWP platform, so I downloaded the example at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/samples/xamarin/xamarin-forms-samples/userinterface-xaminals/, and then i updated all the nugets, so the version of xamarin forms is 4.7.0.1179. When i built this project and run it "Shell.Current.GoToAsync" has no effect on the UWP platform.

So I want to know if this is normal, if not how can i fix this?

It's know issue in UWP platform, and it was fix in pre-release version. Please try to update the Xamarin.Form nugget to 4.8.0.1187-pre2 will fix this issue.

Xamarin SDK was not found for JetBrains Rider

I am hoping to work with Xamarin for a project, primarily to learn a little about cross-platform app development, and would prefer to stick to developing on Linux. This led me to attempt to work with the JetBrains Rider IDE, something that I believed to be fairly well documented, as per these resources:

I've been able to install everything just fine, Android Studio and Rider were installed via JetBrains Toolbox (I also tried installing Rider manually, but it made no change), and I am able to create the project and configure the Android settings for the Xamarin project.
This is where my luck ends, since despite trying the various resources I've linked above, including reinstalling mono and dotnet-sdk multiple times, I get this error no matter what I try:
Xamarin SDK was not found: Rider was unable to find Xamarin SDK on
this machine. Xamarin-based projects will not be loaded. Please
install Xamarin SDK or change toolset.
I've tried following the instructions both on a manually installed Rider 2019.1.3 (Build #RD-191.7141.460) and Rider 2019.2 EAP (Build #RD-192.5895.291).
I'm fairly new to the world of Xamarin, so I'm not sure where to begin looking. What exactly is the Xamarin SDK (is it just Xamarin.Android?), and what should I be checking my setup for in order for Rider to detect the Xamarin SDK?
It appears that what Rider installs via its Environment page, is only the Xamarin Android package. Not the actually Android Studio SDK, which is needed to develop any android apps. You have to download that separately.

Rider 2018.1 iOS simulator not running after build

I have a Xamarin iOS and Android project with a dotnet standard 2.0 library that is being shared between the two operating systems. When trying to run my iOS project, the project build fine and doesn't give any errors but Rider cannot seem to deploy it to a simulator.
I will give the following error:
I thought it could be the problem what is described here, but that did not help. When running the project in VS on MacOs, the iOS project also build and runs on a simulator.

You are not the only one with this problem, the problem is already reported multiple time in Riders issue tracker:

According to the last issue, it's fixed in Rider 2018.2, which will probably be released pretty soon.

xamarin.forms android application stuck in deployment

I am creating cross platform app in xamarin.forms.but when i try to deploy it in xamarin android player.its just stuck there..i had found same question but still no proper solution..please help me..
The Xamarin Android Player has actually been deprecated, it was never fully released and likely has a few bugs.
Try using the built in visual studio emulator instead:

Xamarin Cross Platform disable IOS

I'm new to Xamarin.
My goal is to develop an app for both Android and Windows phone platforms, without IOS. I dont have any mac to test.

It doesn't really matter! It doesn't mean you are actually stuck with iOS in any way.
The only thing it means is that the set you have selected is also compatible with the libraries in Xamarin.iOS. So it means that you could create an iOS project without too much trouble if you would want to in the future.
If you do not create an iOS project, you won't get an iOS app.

Xamarin: Unable to add HotTuna.StarterPack

I am trying to install the MVVMCross.HotTuna.StarterPack on my Xamarin (Mac) Solution using the NuGet, but i ain't successful. The package was installed in the Xamarin.Android project successfully but while i try the same to do with the iOS and PCL project, it doesn't add. Any Idea on whats going wrong? Thanks!
That nuget package requires nuget 2.5 which isn't yet finished/released for Xamarin Studio - track https://github.com/mrward/monodevelop-nuget-addin/issues/13 for updates
It will also probably require fixes from Xamarin - they've not yet released PCL support, but it is in development. You can ask their forum and/or support for updates on this.
In the meantime:
you can develop for MvvmCross using VS on the PC - see http://mvvmcross.wordpress.com/
you can develop using binaries (not nuget) on the Mac - see http://slodge.blogspot.com/2013/05/xamarin-studio-quick-run-through-for.html
For Xamarin.Mac/MonoMac support, there's no PCL support currently available - so the only way to get this working currently is to fork the MvvmCross solution and to compile the PCL libraries for the appropriate Mac project.
