I am using this extension with TYPO3 v10 https://extensions.typo3.org/extension/eventnews/ I created a news content and marked it as "Is event" set the dates, simple organizer name and location.
But this is what I am seeing on the frontend. it doesn't look like an event to me but similar to the news. Can anybody direct me in a way how can I create an "event"?
Basically this is what you get, as the eventnews extension does simply that: It allows news entries to be created as "events" (some additional fields). So at first you get the same views you also have with news, but some additional fields.
One additional new view you can include in your page is the "month view".
Refer to the documentation of eventnews.
To add a Month View, you could do that by simply adding a plugin to your content:
All other things you might need are already there in news (filtering, searching, etc), and customization can be done using templates.
If you need further "event-like" features (like registration, recurring events etc), this might not be the right extension. Try for example EXT:cal or EXT:seminars.

If you want to remove some attributes from the entity, a check is made to see if they are used in global views. For personal views, a similar check is not performed, and if the user wants to use a personal view that contains a non-existent attribute, he will only see a not very explanatory error message.
Is there any way to check the use of non-existent attributes in a personal view?
AFAIK, there is no way to do dependency check from an attribute to personal views. I don't see a XrmToolBox plugin to achieve the same.
Probably you can do some sdk calls to pull all the personal views and check the content in query FetchXml and layout xml for your attributes, and go from there.
I am trying to figure out in which file I need to add the Google remarketing tag. I know it needs to be added before the closing of the body tag. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Depending on what kind of google tracking you are using you have a few different way to use:
1) If only add a custom code and should be in all the Magento page, use the "Miscellaneous Scripts" value going to admin section, System > Configuration > Design > HTML Head - Miscellaneous Scripts. (This will be included before head closing tag in page HTML.)
2) By native Magento already have Google Analytics tracking code and you can find this configuration going to admin section System > Configuration > Google API - Google Analytics.
3) If you are looking something more complex and use the Google adWords I used the extension magento connect link. For a particular Client I did some extra modification to include some extra code if a client subscribe to newsletter or a new client etc.

There are different template file for different pages in magento so at first I think you should decide where to place it.For example if you want to place it in footer than you should place that code snippet in
"app/design/frontend/base/default/page/html/footer.phtml"
Similarly you can check other different template files to place your code.
NB:Best practice is to overide the core file of magento before making changes to it.

There's no indication as to which Magento version you're using 1 or 2. At the end of the day it depends how much technical knowledge you have and if you're using a version control system to manage your Magento build.
Miscellaneous Scripts as another answer mentioned earlier, this approach is straight forward and very easy to use to plug and play your code.
Google Module depending which version of Magento you use (CE/EE) there will be a built-in section for you to plugin your account ID in backend Magento configuration and then the platform will generate necessary code for you.
Write custom module by writing your own module you can place it the snippet anywhere on the page by targeting before_body_end node in your layout XML file. This is more technical but gives you more control over what you can do.
Google Tag Manager this also depends on if your Magento version comes pre-built with Google Tag Manager module, then you can create a container and place all your logic in there. This is also more technical and require the output of some values in JS format on the frontend to let GTM read the values.
At the end of the day go with what is easy to setup, portable and easy to manage. I usually go with Google Tag Manager as it takes time to create initial setup of exposing data on the frontend but then I have full control of what I want to do with that data through tag manager. In most cases you'll end up using the same data (ex. totals, shipping method, product IDs, SKUs, cost, etc.) in more than one third party API so this gives you flexibility to do just that.
I have some sites that I implemented using Drupal. However as cool as Drupal is I've never been satisfied with coding in it mostly because it's in PHP and I've wanted to work with python. I've flirted with Django but I just recently discovered web2py and it's definitely caught my eye. Seems like it may be a sweet spot between Drupal and Django. Although django-cms is also on my radar.
So now I'm wondering how to re-implement my sites with web2py. Specifically suppose I have a site about DVD players. So in Drupal I'd have a CCK type DVD player, with various attributes. I guess this would correspond to a web2py model. How would I implement something like Drupal's taxonomy which is like a tagging system in web2py? Is there a module/plugin/appliance for that? Or am I manually creating the model schema to handle tagging?
Secondly, how would you handle something like comments and/or reviews on posts? Again, is there a pre-built plugin for this or do I have roll my own?
For tagging, I don't think web2py has anything quite like the Drupal Taxonomy module, but there are some options. First, you could create your own many-to-many model to assign tags to items. Another simpler option is to use web2py's list:reference field type to de-normalize the many-to-many relationship (the end of that section in the book includes a tagging example).
For existing tagging solutions, you can also check out web2py's plugin_wiki, which includes a tag widget. You can get it from the download page, or pull the source code directly. Another option is Powerpack, which includes the Instant Press CMS, which includes tagging and categories functionality.
Also, both plugin_wiki and Powerpack include comment plugins.
Finally, you'll generally get more and quicker responses from knowledgeable web2py users on the web2py mailing list.
I have 2 entities (for this example) in CRM 2011 - Account and Case. The Account holds all of our clients, the case holds individual work actions for an account. When a case is created one of the input fields is the Account.
What I would like to do is upon the user selecting the Account, execute some javascript to look up the account entity to display some additional information.
So far I have got the javascript working that triggers the onchange event of the Account field, and it correctly gets the selected Account, but I don't know what the next step is.
I'm new to CRM so don't really know if what I'm asking is actually sensible, if there is a better way then please let me know.

For the record, the way you were thinking about doing things would be completely supported, and TechHike's method is supported in CRM 4, not CRM 2011. Steps you would take:
Use CRM 2011's web resources to upload a script file that does what you want.
Use the form editor to make your javascript method from step one fire when the Account field changes on the form
Make a request to CRM's REST endpoint (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg334767.aspx) to retrieve the details of the account selected
Use the results to populate fields on the form, show a popup with details, etc.
There are plenty of examples of caling the REST endpoint from JavaScript in the SDK (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309408.aspx). Good luck!

It basically describes the same scenario where you have a 1:n relationship (such as Case and Account) and details how you can pull information from a specified lookup (e.g. account), using the REST endpoint (as Matt has already mentioned) and display it on the form.

There are two ways to do this, and you may be best to do them both in parallel:
on the Account > Case relationship edit the Mappings. When a user goes to an Account and uses the left navigation to look at Cases (or a grid of Cases on the form) then hits "Add New Case" they are creating a Case from inside the "context" of the Account. You can copy any fields you want to from the Account to the Case record at this point - the Mappings define what field from the Account are copied to which target field on the Case. This will always be the most robust, easiest way to do it but relies on the user starting in the right place.
on the Case for you could also add an onChange script to the Parent Customer lookup to fetch the data from the parent record. I think Stephen's link is probably the best way to do this as it does not copy the fields but allows the user to see them anyway, which is better database design (from a purist standpoint) and means the user always sees current info about the Account rather than possibly out of date stuff. Alternatively if you actually need to copy some fields (maybe the customer's normal SLA say) so that you can use these in other such as scripts or workflows on the Case then have a look at this article: Disabling the selection of contacts for opportunities all the way
Although this is about a slightly different topic, the script there fetches the Account details of the parent Contact - you want to fetch values from a parent (llokup) field so the approach is the same, just different in the detail
There are various ways to do this but I would recommend doing it the supported way, without javascript. This may not be as pretty but it is likely much easier. The scenario would be to add a left navigation link to the case entity that when clicked will update the content area to show the details of the account.
To add a link to the left navigation you will need to configure the isv.config file to have an extra link for the case entity.

Next you will need to create a custom aspx page in the ISV folder of the web server. This page will display all the information about the account that you want to show the user when the left navigation link is clicked. The ISV.config as an xml property that allows you to pass all the context params to your page on the querystring. Make sure when you create the link to turn on this attribute.
Now the only tricky part is that in the page you will need to use the CRM web service to display all the account details that you interested in showing the user. I won't do into details on this. You can find great tutorials on the web or in the SDK if you haven't done this before.
I want to create my own form that are submitted and values of that form will be stored in joomla database. How can i used the Joomla connection code to interacte with the joomla database.
If you just want to get your work done, there are some components already avaiable in Joomla Extension's website to your form's needs. CkForms is a good one, you can create simple forms with it that are automatically saved in the database (supports upload of files too).
If you want to learn how to write extensions in Joomla, you should read Joomla Official Documentation website.
Extensions in Joomla are divided in "Components", "Modules" and "Plugins". More informations about these differences can be found here and here.
What you're trying to achieve sounds a "component" to me. Downloading the CkForms and reading it's source code should get you started to Joomla's way of writing components.
EDIT: Joomla has a huge API with a lot of features. It has a database module of it's own, with insert methods and such. Reading Joomla's API website before implementing your component it's a good idea to avoid "reinventing the wheel" and it's a good practice since those methods are extensively tested by all Joomla users.

Of course, as another mentioned above, if you are building a module, component, or application, you will need to learn how to to develop a module, component or application. Of these three, the module is the easiest to implement.
The application gives you much freedom b/c you are not constrained to the CMS paradigm, front and back end complexities. However, there is little documentation about how to develop applications with Joomla framework b/c joomla as a framework is relatively new

Or you could just create add a html module to any position and then write the form in html i.e.

Now just create a page that handles the code by emailing or inserting into db. I havent tried it but i think it should work.

You have two options:
Use an already built custom form extension
Create your own custom form extension (or outsource it)
Now if you only want to modify the user registration form, then you can do some PHP customization to accomplish your goal.
Making forms in Joomla can be done in a couple of ways.
If you just wanted a contact us, you can just create a page with a menu item for the User contact form. This gives you a page with a Members address and contact form. So all you would need to do was add the user as the company of the websites home address and email. But the form is very basic, name, title, textarea for message.
Next up from that you could just make a Custom HTML module add add a form to it in plain HTML like +Sean said above this, you would need to code in PHP your own form process script. You would not get error in form data checking unless you also wrote it.
Next you might rather look on the Joomla Extension Directory JED for one of the good extensions for 3 and 2.5 Joomla RSForms!Pro is good, and can do all we have needed. This lets you add fields one by one and move your form around. Then can auto generate or custom the html of the form.

In simple 5 steps you can create a contact form with unlimited fields and also embed various function like DB save, Email, Thanks Message, Redirection on any page. Also possibility of extension of Normal joomla registeration. It will not extend the core registration but at the time of registration you can take various information from users.
