What is the DarkImages folder in Visual Studio used for? - image

I am working on a project in Visual Studio. Every time when I created a button, an image will be generated automatically in the Images folder. And I noticed that this image will also be generated in the DarkImages folder:
The code only takes references to the Images folder. What is the usage of the DarkImages folder? Thanks for your answers!

Ok, asked my boss, he provided a clue.
The image in the DarkImages could be used when someone wants to switch to the dark mode. And that would be where they would look for the dark version of the images.

In Visual Studio2019 how to setup the codehighlightcolors in the editor for Classes/Parameter/Functions etc.?

I watched a youtube video about Blazor and noticed that my color highlighting of my code in the texteditor was different from the video. In the video much more codebits had different colors then it is the case in my Visual Studio 2019 setup.
My code has some coloring but its alot of white lines instead of every codebit differend colorsetting (Class/Function/Parameter/...).
Please see the attached jpeg!
How can I also have those color settings from the video (jpeg left side is what I want // right side is what I have) in my VS? Is that a "plugin" to download or where can I find the settings for that?
In VS I checked Tools-Options- and then tried different dropdown menues but could not find the place for these settings (kind of lost because there are so much options)!
Thanks for helping me to get more colors in my code/life :)
Don't know if that is totaly the same thing I saw but it it close to what I wanted.
You can install a Extension to VS via Marketplace. I installed this:

Visual studio Image folder in sub project

In one of my visual studio projects there are some sub directories each of them containing sub projects. In one such sub-project I have an Image folder containing an image. Now I am not being able to load that image doing something like this.
<img id="loading" src="~/Image/loader.gif" alt="loader">
When I hover on it in my dev tool it shows me the path like
http://localhost:62360/Image/loader
and the image is not found on that location. Any idea what can be done?
For everyone with problems like that
I highly recommend, if its a part of your project that shouldn't be replaced or be replaced, to use a resource file. Here is a small instrction how to do so.
You can now simply choose "~/resource/WhatIsThis.png" as URL (usually in the GUI the url can be choosen via dialog).
As said in documentation, it is important to know that the resource file will store the URL to your image, not the image itself. But that won't make a difference in this case.

Use of xcassets versus design team

Design team provide a folder with all the images required for a project.
I've create xcassets for the icon and splash files, and for some images who require slicing, etc
I've notices that all the image in xcassets have been duplicate in the xcassets folder.
My question:
From xcassets, can I link to image, instead of having xcode
duplicate it?
If link not possible, what are the best way to work with design
team?
Do you thing that, at compile time, xcode will insert just one copy
of the image?
Thanks for your infos
The purpose of xcassets is to consolidate all of your project assets into a nice bundle. I tend to split into multiple xcassets for larger projects. After you pop everything to xcassets, you can get rid of other asset instances from your project.
In compile time, only the files selected in the "add to target" field will be copied over.
Just stick all your files into xcassets, don't add them anywhere else.
yes ofcourse there is one tool for your problem's solution

How to create Custom Spalsh screen while Silverlight downloader download Application Library Cache files?

I have created a sample application suing Application cache, My some files are located on server. its working fine. But Now I have added appx 10 MB ZIP file and now want to downlaod, Silverlight downloader show 100% in xap download and then no progress show just circle appears.
I have tried the http://pagebrooks.com/archive/2009/02/19/custom-loading-screens-in-silverlight.aspx same and its working fine for XAP only. But I need it for "Application cache" files downloads
So is there any option to create my custom UI to show it at that time. Please let me know,
Thanks in advance,

There is a Silverlight TV episode dedicated to a custom preloader... start from here...

And see also this post:

HTH
EDIT:
OK now I got you. This seems like an open topic.
A solution is to provide your own logic:
this is a good blog post by tim heuer

Otherwise look for MEF and dynamically load XAP's (this would be my recommended way, too)
Because you got way much more control
check out these article
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/silverlight/MEFDynamicLoading.aspx
http://www.davidezordan.net/blog/?p=1734
and gblock the mef master himself
http://johnpapa.net/silverlight/silverlight-tv-11-dynamically-loading-xaps-with-mef/
This open's even possibilities to cache, load on demand and split up you app in portions...
Hope I got you right this time...

Embed image in code with Visual Studio

I remember reading once that there was a way to embed an image into a code file (e.g. a screenshot or diagram) in Visual Studio, but now I can't find any reference to that feature.
Is this possible to do, or am I imagining things?
EDIT: I don't mean embed the image in the executable, for use at runtime. I mean link or embed it literally in the code, for use by developers.
There is a plug-in for VS 2010 that can do this:
Plug-in
There is also a plugin for VS2012 and VS2013. At this moment installing for VS2013 does not seem to work for me though.

You can embed images in your binary through the use of the ImageList control, which is typically used to store small icons for list controls, gridviews, etc., but could also be used for storing really any image for any purpose. A better solution would be to include a resource file and store your images there.
