Apple TV Pairing With Xcode 12 - xcode

Im trying to pair my Xcode(12.2) with My Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV is visible in the device and simulators window. After clicking "Pair With Apple TV" the TV shows 6 digit code and after entering it, my Macbook is shown in Apple TV's "Remote App and Devices" window. But my Xcode is unable to detect my Apple TV and my device and simulator Window looks like this. Anybody here facing the same issue ? Please Advice. TIA Screenshot

I had the same issue. I've just repeated clicking "Pair With Apple TV" and it helped.

I had the same issue on M1 MBP for Apple TV 4k 2021 version.
my record shows how to repeat this issue: https://youtu.be/hKM1t7MRfx4

Xcode 12 - Storyboard screens showing up empty/black (using m1 macbook)

We have tried both iOS 14 and 13. In both cases, the storyboard screens show up like this.
Has anyone else faced this issue and was able to solve it? Or should we revert back to xcode 11 or 10 in order to solve this?
Empty storyboard screens
I have similar issue with Xcode 12.4 on M1 Macbook Pro. As a workaround disable Rosetta Mode when working with storyboard. Follow the below steps
Quit Xcode and open finder and go to Applications folder
Right click on Xcode App and select Get Info
Uncheck "Open using Rosetta" option
Open Xcode, storyboard will work now
Note: With Rosetta Disabled, I wasn't able to build/run the app. So I was toggling the Rosetta mode. I think Apple will fix it sooner.
UPDATE
Xcode 12.5+ fixed this issue.
I tried on Xcode 12.5 beta on my M1 pro is work well. That's Xcode issue with 12.4 on M1.
Selected a device from the list in Device in Xcode fixed it for me:
Tap Device:
Then select a device:

Trouble pairing Apple TV with Xcode

When trying to pair Xcode with my Apple TV it says
This device has been ignored in the devices panel.
I cannot continue development properly until this issue has been solved, however I cannot find an un-ignore button. Please help me, thank you!
Running the terminal command as described in other answers didn't work for me and the device kept being ignored whenever I re-opened Xcode.
My solution was to open Apple Configurator and go to Paired Devices on the About menu. From the window that appears hit the X to remove all the devices (I had the same device listed 6 times).
Then close Apple Configurator, launch Xcode and the Apple TV paired.
My setup was Xcode 13.4.1 / Apple 4K 2nd Gen / tvOS 15.5.1 / Apple Configuration 2.15.1
2022
While Window > Devices and Simulators is open on the Xcode, go to the upper menu with the back button on your remote and re-enter the Remote App and Devices menu to try to go back again. Try a few times. It'll show your device on the Xcode's Device window. Then click the "Pair" for the device. You’ll see a screen asking you to enter the six-digit code displayed on your Apple TV; enter the code to the Xcode's Device window. And wait for it. For a while device and Xcode will work for Preparing debugger support for your device. Keep your Mac device and Apple TV close until it's done.
Hope this will help someone.
Best.
I think I found the solution. I did a number of things so here are all of them, but the most important one is step 5:
Go to main menu in Apple TV
Quit Xcode
Go to the command line and type
defaults read com.apple.dt.Xcode.plist DVTIgnoredDevices
You should be able to see the AppleTV in question listed there.
NOTE: This will clear all of your ignored devices
. Still in the command line, type
defaults delete com.apple.dt.Xcode.plist DVTIgnoredDevices
Go to the Devices and Simulators window
On command line, type
defaults read com.apple.dt.Xcode.plist DVTIgnoredDevices
You should see something like "does not exist"
You should be able to pair the AppleTV now
2022
After testing some solutions and having no luck, try the next:
Restart the router
It's working now.
Try it.
I had exactly the same issue:
My solution was:
Remove everything from the ATV
perform the delete command from above
Reboot everything!
Try the pairing again
This did it for me.
For some reason, don't ask me why
Make sure you've enabled the "Show as run destination" option.
i tried all the solutions mentioned here - non helped, eventually i:
selected "Forget Device" from the apple tv
restarted the apple tv
closed the XCode
restarted mac
paired again and that worked
sometimes when you press |Pair| button in the Devices & Simulators window, after you key in the numbers, the screen will go back to "Pair" mode,
in order to bypass this issue, after pairing i restart the xcode (without unpairing or forget the device), and the device shows up as connected
I was having the same issue and none of the solutions above worked. Then I noticed that universal clipboard between my iPhone and Mac was also not working.
The solution for that was to toggle Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on/off on both Mac and iPhone (I have a feeling that it was more the toggle on Mac that helped).
Anyway, by fixing that issue, my AppleTV showed up paired and ready to use in Xcode (din't even have to re-pair).

"View Device Logs" option does not show all the logs in Xcode on one Mac

I noticed when I develop apps using different Macs(i.e. office-Mac and home-Mac), every time I plug the iDevice(iPhone, iPod...) with Mac, click the View Device Logs button under Window -> Devices and Simulators option, there are some (crash)logs in one Mac and others in another Mac. Or sometimes
My question is:
why this is the case?
How can I view all the logs in one Mac?
Is there another way to view/analyze (crash) logs of iDevices correctly and conveniently without using Xcode?
Here is my environement:
macOS: High Sierra(home-Mac), Sierra(office-Mac)
Xcode: 9.2, 8.3.3
iDevice: iPhone SE(iOS 10.3.3), iPod Touch 5th-Gen(iOS 8.2)
Many thanks in advance.

Apple TV wireless debugging Unable to connect

I am trying to pair my apple TV (4th Gen) running tvOS 11.1 with Xcode 9. After entering the pairing code, Xcode tries to setup the Apple TV for wireless debugging and enabling development mode, but fails with the error
"An error was encountered while attempting to communicate with this device. (End of file.)" See below image
Note that I was able to pair with my apple TV successfully and run an app on it couple of weeks ago using Xcode 9 wireless debugging feature. Wireless debugging works fine for iphone and iPad. Now, I seem to be having problem with my Apple TV.
UPDATE: Now I have tried even resetting my AppleTV, still same issue.
Xcode 9 Devices and Simulators Window
I have tried restarting my apple TV and tried reconnecting it with Xcode multiple times, but I get the same error always.
Do I need to reset my apple TV or is there any other work around available to fix this issue ?
As it turned out, I had to use Xcode beta version, as I was installing app on the beta tvOS version. I didn't notice that Apple TV was updated to tvOS 11.1 which is in beta at the moment.
Solution: Using Xcode 9.1 (beta) to install the app on Apple TV 4 worked perfectly.

Apple TV not detected by Xcode or iTunes

I am developing an Apple TV app using OSX 10.11.1, Xcode 7.1.1, and iTunes 12.2.2.25. My Apple TV is a 3rd generation model.
My Apple TV is not detected by my iMac. It's also not detected by iTunes.
You need an Apple TV 4th generation to develop apps. The 3rd generation Apple TV is not supported by the new tvOS platform.
The truth is, XCode 7+ will actually show the Apple TV as unsupported, but listed in the device list. Also it will show up in the iTunes as Apple TV 3rd gen. You just cannot use the 3rd gen as development device.
