"Publish to the Web" feature no longer works unless "Share" feature is set to share to "Anyone with the link" - google-apps-marketplace

It appears that the "Publish to the Web" feature for Sheets no longer allows downloading of a sheet by URL, unless the "Share" feature is set to share to "Anyone with the link".
Up until yesterday, 11/18/2020, this extra step of making sure the "Share" setting was in place was not necessary.
Can you please confirm if this is a bug or a new and expected change? Thanks! ^_^

This seems to be a bug:
If a spreadsheet is Published to the web, it won't be accessible in any of the file formats (.csv, .pdf, .ods, etc.) to users who don't have access to the spreadsheet itself: for these users, it will only be accessible as a Web page.
This is not intended behaviour, since files that have been published to the web should be accessible to anyone with the link, no matter the sharing settings the spreadsheet itself has.
Issue Tracker:
This behaviour has been reported in Issue Tracker several times: see this issue, this one and also the one you mentioned.
Specifically, the following issue seems to have been getting more traction, and it has already been reported internally by Google (see comment #3):
Private Sheet public CSV export requires authentication
Therefore, I'd suggest anyone affected by this issue to click the star on the top-left in order to be notified of updates and to help prioritizing this.
Workaround:
Share the spreadsheet itself with Anyone with the link as Viewer role.

Microsoft-Teams: Unable to test personal tab because of "There was a problem reaching this app" error

I have created an app using manifest editor where I have generated the ID and I have configured the personal tab to open a public website "https://www.ibm.com/in-en"
I have downloaded the zip of the app
I have uploaded the app to teams and the app is shown in teams
When I click on the app and then click open to load the personal tab, I get the issue as mentioned in the image:
Could you please check if you have the "showloadingindicator" field set to true in your manifest? Could you please try removing it and uploading the app manifest?
I had the same issue, and removing the "showLoadingIndicator" fixed it, but while it sorted out the immediate problem, it didn't help understand why it was incorrect.
tl;dr : you need to call microsoftTeams.appInitialization.notifySuccess() inside your tab, but if you want more info, see my question/answer over here: Personal Tab Renders Fine, then a few seconds later shows "There was a problem reaching this app"
This wouldn't apply in your case as you're pointing to a public website, but if it was a custom tab, then the fix would help and also allow the "loading" indicator to be used.

Custom form in Outlook Task is not syncing

My partner and I created a custom task form to be used in Outlook using the developer mode to do that, and we published it to the Organization Forms Library for anyone to open. We're running into issues that I personally can't seem to find on how to resolve:
Custom forms aren't syncing correctly.
When I complete out the custom form, and I assign it to someone else they might be missing details like the dates I picked from the date picker, and text within the text box are gone too. It's very odd that sometimes some would get all the details that an end-user would input but that's like a 1/8 chance. I feel like there's a disconnect where it just won't behave like any other task. Cache mode or no cache mode doesn't matter it seems. When the person assigns it back with changes made on their end, those changes aren't seen on my side. I just have the same original details that I made when I first made it. We're on Exchange Server 2010.
Looks like a custom form was not published correctly to others in the organization. Try to create a new Outlook item on other machines with your custom forms to make sure they were deployed correctly.
Note, message forms default to separate layouts for composing and reading. Many people find their first message form doesn't look right when they receive an item created with it. That's simply because they forgot to click the Edit Read Page button and customize the Read layout!

why hosting images in google sites from google drive has stopped working?

yesterday I created a simple "quote of the day" script for my google site. The script reads the quote from a google sheet. I also wanted each quote to go
with a companion image, which I host in my google drive (the image Ids also are stored in the sheet).
I followed the instructions explained here, and everything seemed to work fine. The permissions for the images was "everyone with the link within my institution" (this is supposed to work in a website on the google apps for education).
It was a success, because the images did display correctly.
Today I opened that page again, and the images have disappeared.
I know that image hosting was discontinued in 2016, but I think it was a different way of hosting (no permalink). Indeed, as I mention, yesterday I could see the images in the website.
Also, when I write the "permalink" in chrome address bar I get "403. That’s an error. We're sorry, but you do not have access to this page. That’s all we know." This happens despite I'm the owner of the file, and I'm logged in the correct google account. Also, it happens irrespective of the browser and/or machine I use (I tried with my phone too).
I also tried what explained here, although I'm not sure I understand that completely. There should be a problem though, because instead of the image I get the alt text (NA).
Is the "permalink" method still supposed to work?
Could this be a problem of excessive traffic? I haven't even published the page yet, I only did some testing...
What is the best way of displaying images from google drive into google sites, without resorting to third party services?
Thanks a lot
Francesco
You already answered your question. Hosting on Google Drive has been stopped.
However, you can try the workaround from this SO post where you'll use the URL:
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id={IMAGE_FILE_ID}
It worked fine when use with the <img src="{IMAGE_URL}"> HTML tag. That's the closest thing to what you're trying to do.
You can also try Firebase Storage where you host your images on the cloud and display them on your web page.
This is at least a partial answer to the problem I tried to explain, which I'm summarizing below:
I was hosting images for a page in my google site on my google drive, via the syntax
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id={IMAGE_FILE_ID}
the sharing settings of the individual images was "anyone with the link within [my institution]";
this worked for one single day and then stopped working: the images stopped showing, and I could not figure out why. All this happenened a few days ago (oct 21-22 2017), and hence cannot possibly have to do with google discontinuing a previous service, which happened in 2016;
this happened despite I was logged into the account in my institution (and hence the owner of the images).
I found out that the problem appears to be in the sharing settings. Apparently, the images only display if their sharing settings are "public on the web" or "anyone with the link". Instead "anyone with the link within [my institution]", or more restrictive settings won't work. The first settings were mentioned in the webpage I linked, but I thought it would also work with "anyone with the link within [my institution]" (and, for one day, it did).
I also tried by setting the permissions of the parent folder. In that case only "public on the web" would work. With anything more restrictive than that the images won't display.
Despite I carefully double checked all this, I think this permissions thing seems to be a bit erratic though.
As I mention, on the first day (oct 21) the images would display even with "anyone with the link within [my institution]. I could swear on my life that, before the systematic tests I just finished carrying out, all was working with the folder settings to "anyone with the link [within my institution]". Now that setting won't work.
I know, I said "it appears" a bunch of times. This is because all of this is just from my point of view, so far. I still have to share the link of the page I'm preparing. As soon as I can I'm going to ask a colleague to take a look at it.
What I anyway want is that the page displaying the images is visibile only to people within my institution, for the moment being.
However, now I'm at least able to see the images hosted in drive, in my website.

Magento .csv translation and inline translation not working

I am using Magento 1.7.
I am trying to change My Account to Your Account as per a video I am watching, yet when I add the following to app/design/frontend/default/mytheme/locale/en_US/translate.csv
My Account, Your Account
(that is what the guy did in the video, though I am assuming he is using an earlier version) or
"My Account", "Your Account"
nothing happens.
Also tried editing it with inline translations, I get the little book icon, open it, edit the text, refresh but nothing happens (it is NOT a caching problem).
Any ideas? Maybe some other CSV file is overwriting the one in my custom theme.
Turns out it was a bit of a caching problem. I basically disabled ALL caching and chose "Default Config" in system/configuration and now inline translating seems to be working.
So if you are having problems with this just go to cache management and disable everything.
Sometimes you have use a scope for your translation:
"Mage_Customer::My Account", "Your Account"

XGantt ActiveX issue on Dynamics AX (2012)

I’m facing some issues with the Netronic XGantt ActiveX. My problem is that my ActiveX in the Form doesn’t seem to find the table I specified in the config panel.
I can't post a screenshot here since I'm new (I don't have 10 points) so this is a link to it.Configuration panel screenshot
I tried with a CSV file storing the nodes information, it works well.
Is the name SAG_GANTT_SOURCE_MODEL used properly? Knowing that I already created a table with this name and those fields in the screen capture.
Is there any further configuration elements I need to consider?
I can do as I wish following the classes some Dynamics AX projects (Gantt) uses but it seems to me that it’s too much work for implementing a simple component, isn’t it?
Since I can’t find any documentation/article/tutorial to use the XGantt ActiveX properly (except this one which I already saw http://community.dynamics.com/product/ax/axtechnical/b/axfortechies/archive/2010/05/28/activex-gantt-chart-control-in-dynamics-ax.aspx)
I’m wondering if you have any document, a link or a contact to help me with my issue.
Thanks for your attention.
Have you tried Netronic. I think they can generate a license file which you can import and this would enable the disgner of the control. Also they probably still have some pdf documents on thier website.
