I am trying to boot up a spring application with Atomikos maven dependency
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-jta-atomikos</artifactId>
</dependency>
Am also autowiring as following
#Autowired
JtaTransactionManager jtaTransactionManager;
application.yaml file is as follows
spring:
mvc:
throw-exception-if-no-handler-found: true
resources:
add-mappings: false
jta:
atomikos:
connectionfactory:
ignore-session-transacted-flag: false
unique-resource-name: xa.amq
min-pool-size: 10
max-pool-size: 20
datasource:
unique-resource-name: xa.db
min-pool-size: 10
max-pool-size: 20
test-query: "select 1"
properties:
default-jta-timeout: 50000
datasource:
url: jdbc:mysql://mydatabasehost:3306/test
driverClassName: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
username: test
password: test
initialization-mode: always
It starts fine with above yaml configurations.
However, for my use case, I want my transaction manager to skip using the default spring datasource and instead I want to dynamically register datasource beans after the start up. I wanted to know if that is possible. If I remove my datasource settings from above yaml file, I get following error

This is not an Atomikos limitation because it allows dynamic addition of datasources.
It looks like Spring Boot's convention-over-configuration trying to create a default datasource if you have none. I am not a Spring Boot expert so I am not sure if this can be suppressed. However, there is probably no harm in using a dummy default datasource in your configuration if that help.

I am creating spring boot app and connecting to Oracle DB in AWS instance.
My config is
spring.datasource.url= jdbc:oracle:thin:#xxxx.com:1521/xxxx
spring.datasource.username=xxxxxx
spring.datasource.password=xxxxxx
spring.datasource.driver-class-name=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
spring.datasource.schema=xxxxxx
#hibernate config
spring.jpa.database-platform=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect
server.port=8081
The build.gradle is
dependencies {

implementation 'com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2'
testImplementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-test'
}
When I trying to run the app, it is getting below error. This error is showing the driver class not found. I am confused from where the error is coming. So I am posting below stacktrace of my exception.

It is hard to tell where the error comes from exactly. From the error message, it seems that the Oracle Driver has not been resolved correctly. Gradle should report issues of that kind.
Oracle has just recently started to publish JDBC drivers to Maven Central. Read about the official announcement on the Oracle Developers blog: Oracle JDBC drivers on Maven Central.
Long story short, the driver com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2 is not among them. MVN Repository shows that the driver you defined is published on the ICM (polish university) repository. As long as you didn't define the repository in your build file, Gradle could not resolve this particular driver version.
If you're okay to use the latest available driver, try with
implementation 'com.oracle.ojdbc:ojdbc8:19.3.0.0'
If you need the specific driver version mentioned in your question, you can try the following:
Define the ICM repository in your build file and let it resolve from there.
Download the driver to a local lib directory or Maven repository and let Gradle pick up the driver from there (How to add local .jar file dependency to build.gradle file?).
Upload the driver in question to a private Maven repository instance (Nexus, Artifactory) should you have access to one. This is a common setup in corporate environments.
Ensure that , the dependency is in maven central :
http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/oracle/.
When i checked i couldn't find it.
Also ensure that the mavenCentral() or mavenLocal() that you are using has the dependency that you are trying to download. Verify that the jar generated after the build contains the ojdbc7.jar . If it's not present the jar is not getting resolved by gradle correctly and you need to check your configurations.
Also try using the driver in the compile configuration(incase it's an issue with your gradle version) :
compile ("com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2")
If the issue is because of the jar being not there, download it manually and add it to your local maven repo then build with that to verify.
Hi I've just upgraded springboot from 2.0.5 to 2.1.8
First I got this error
The bean 'requestMappingHandlerAdapter', defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/web/servlet/WebMvcAutoConfiguration$EnableWebMvcConfiguration.class], could not be registered. A bean with that name has already been defined in org.springframework.web.reactive.config.DelegatingWebFluxConfiguration and overriding is disabled.
So, I added this in application.properties
spring.main.allow-bean-definition-overriding: true
However I got different error.
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.web.reactive.config.DelegatingWebFluxConfiguration': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: The Java/XML config for Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux cannot both be enabled, e.g. via #EnableWebMvc and #EnableWebFlux, in the same application.

I want to enable only Web Flux and I've added #EnableWebFlux. How to disable the Web MVC?
As it's not recommended to run both MVC and WebFlux in the same application, You have to set the application type to reactive or servlet using the following:
spring:
main:
web-application-type: reactive
NONE
The application should not run as a web application and should not start an embedded web server.
SERVLET
The application should run as a servlet-based web application and should start an embedded servlet web server (MVC).
REACTIVE
The application should run as a reactive web application and should start an embedded reactive web server (WebFlux).

I'm trying to upgrade spring boot 2.0.0 to 2.1.8 and updated Neo4j OGM to the appropriate version mentioned in the neo4j documentation here
I also referred to the migration documentation here. which explains for 2.0 to 3.0 and it looks like the configuration is similar between 3.0 and 3.1. I may be wrong here
here is my code https://github.com/nkumarclm/sprintboot2.1_neo4jogm3.1 and getting an exception while wiring the sessionFactory to the Spring boot data neo4j.
Note: I was originally migrating my application from Spring boot 1.5 to 2.0 as a first step before jumping to 2.1 as recommended here https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/wiki/Spring-Boot-2.0-Migration-Guide#upgrade-to-spring-boot-2
so the provided code https://github.com/nkumarclm/sprintboot2.1_neo4jogm3.1 works fine with the spring boot version 2.0.0 and Neo4j OGM 3.0.1 but not with Spring boot 2.1.8 & Neo4j OGM 3.1.1

I think I'm definitely missing something here and any suggestion related to this would be of great help.
Thanks very much in advance for your time and effort on this problem.
I came a cross a similar error when I tried to upgrade from 2.1.7 to 2.1.8 so you might want to try 2.1.7 and see if that works.
Further I found out the inflicting class had a java.nio.file.Path property which was the cause for my problem.
My gradle:
id 'org.springframework.boot' version '2.1.9.RELEASE'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-data-neo4j'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-web'
implementation group: 'org.modelmapper', name: 'modelmapper', version: '2.3.5'
Maybe it helps.
I am developing Spring Boot + Spring Batch XML based approach. In this example, I developed ABC-Core module which has JPA Model, JPARepository, Custom Entity classes and CustomRepository classes developed and querying using #PersistentContext.
Now This Module (Payment-Batch) I want to import into each independent Spring Boot + Batch module, where this module only contains details and about Batch XML Job details.
When I run the ABC-Core all goes well. Now when I added ABC-Core dependency into the Payment-Batch module I got the below error.
In Payment-Batch module, I have configured exact database.properties and database configurations.

I have configured spring boot 1.5.12 + ehcache and everything was working fine until I upgraded spring boot to 1.5.13
application.yml has the below entry
spring:
cache:
jcache:
provider: org.ehcache.jsr107.EhcacheCachingProvider
config: ehcache.xml
my ehcache.xml is located under resources directory
The error I am receiving is:

It looks like spring boot has started searching for ehcache.xml using servletContext resolver.
p.s. I had made no change in any of source code except the spring boot upgrade to 1.5.13
Am I missing some required configuration here?
I had figured out the fix for this problem. We need to specify the prefix classpath: with the file name to make it work.
My application.yml would look like this now
spring:
cache:
jcache:
provider: org.ehcache.jsr107.EhcacheCachingProvider
config: classpath:ehcache.xml
Hope that helps.
