Spring boot Oracle Gradle : Cannot load driver class: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver - spring

I am creating spring boot app and connecting to Oracle DB in AWS instance.
My config is
spring.datasource.url= jdbc:oracle:thin:#xxxx.com:1521/xxxx
spring.datasource.username=xxxxxx
spring.datasource.password=xxxxxx
spring.datasource.driver-class-name=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
spring.datasource.schema=xxxxxx
#hibernate config
spring.jpa.database-platform=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect
server.port=8081
The build.gradle is
dependencies {
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-data-jpa'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-web'
implementation 'io.springfox:springfox-swagger2:2.9.2'
implementation 'io.springfox:springfox-swagger-ui:2.9.2'
// https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.oracle.jdbc/ojdbc7
implementation 'com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2'
testImplementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-test'
}
When I trying to run the app, it is getting below error. This error is showing the driver class not found. I am confused from where the error is coming. So I am posting below stacktrace of my exception.
org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.orm.jpa.HibernateJpaConfiguration': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through constructor parameter 0; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'dataSource' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/jdbc/DataSourceConfiguration$Hikari.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [com.zaxxer.hikari.HikariDataSource]: Factory method 'dataSource' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot load driver class: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver

It is hard to tell where the error comes from exactly. From the error message, it seems that the Oracle Driver has not been resolved correctly. Gradle should report issues of that kind.
Oracle has just recently started to publish JDBC drivers to Maven Central. Read about the official announcement on the Oracle Developers blog: Oracle JDBC drivers on Maven Central.
Long story short, the driver com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2 is not among them. MVN Repository shows that the driver you defined is published on the ICM (polish university) repository. As long as you didn't define the repository in your build file, Gradle could not resolve this particular driver version.
If you're okay to use the latest available driver, try with
implementation 'com.oracle.ojdbc:ojdbc8:19.3.0.0'
If you need the specific driver version mentioned in your question, you can try the following:
Define the ICM repository in your build file and let it resolve from there.
Download the driver to a local lib directory or Maven repository and let Gradle pick up the driver from there (How to add local .jar file dependency to build.gradle file?).
Upload the driver in question to a private Maven repository instance (Nexus, Artifactory) should you have access to one. This is a common setup in corporate environments.

Ensure that , the dependency is in maven central :
http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/oracle/.
When i checked i couldn't find it.
Also ensure that the mavenCentral() or mavenLocal() that you are using has the dependency that you are trying to download. Verify that the jar generated after the build contains the ojdbc7.jar . If it's not present the jar is not getting resolved by gradle correctly and you need to check your configurations.
Also try using the driver in the compile configuration(incase it's an issue with your gradle version) :
compile ("com.oracle.jdbc:ojdbc7:12.1.0.2")
If the issue is because of the jar being not there, download it manually and add it to your local maven repo then build with that to verify.

Spring boot (2.0.0 to 2.1.8) & Neo4j-OGM (3.0.1 to 3.1.1) upgrade sessionFactory issue

I'm trying to upgrade spring boot 2.0.0 to 2.1.8 and updated Neo4j OGM to the appropriate version mentioned in the neo4j documentation here
I also referred to the migration documentation here. which explains for 2.0 to 3.0 and it looks like the configuration is similar between 3.0 and 3.1. I may be wrong here
here is my code https://github.com/nkumarclm/sprintboot2.1_neo4jogm3.1 and getting an exception while wiring the sessionFactory to the Spring boot data neo4j.
Note: I was originally migrating my application from Spring boot 1.5 to 2.0 as a first step before jumping to 2.1 as recommended here https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/wiki/Spring-Boot-2.0-Migration-Guide#upgrade-to-spring-boot-2
so the provided code https://github.com/nkumarclm/sprintboot2.1_neo4jogm3.1 works fine with the spring boot version 2.0.0 and Neo4j OGM 3.0.1 but not with Spring boot 2.1.8 & Neo4j OGM 3.1.1

I think I'm definitely missing something here and any suggestion related to this would be of great help.
Thanks very much in advance for your time and effort on this problem.
I came a cross a similar error when I tried to upgrade from 2.1.7 to 2.1.8 so you might want to try 2.1.7 and see if that works.
Further I found out the inflicting class had a java.nio.file.Path property which was the cause for my problem.
My gradle:
id 'org.springframework.boot' version '2.1.9.RELEASE'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-data-neo4j'
implementation 'org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-web'
implementation group: 'org.modelmapper', name: 'modelmapper', version: '2.3.5'
Maybe it helps.

Spring boot cannot start with aws starter dependency

I have checked on other posts but version seems to play a role and my spring boot version is
'2.1.8.RELEASE'
Spring boot does not start with the dependency
I have tried several options to get the application to start but get no success.
I only want to make use of S3 and RDS and maybe EC2.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

This error occurs when you run an application locally & not on EC2,
For me excluding the below autoconfiguration worked.
spring:
autoconfigure:
exclude:
- org.springframework.cloud.aws.autoconfigure.context.ContextInstanceDataAutoConfiguration
- org.springframework.cloud.aws.autoconfigure.context.ContextStackAutoConfiguration
- org.springframework.cloud.aws.autoconfigure.context.ContextRegionProviderAutoConfiguration
You have set the cloud.aws.region.auto=true parameter which enables the automatic region detection
There is no EC2 meta data available, because the application is not
running in the EC2 environment. Region detection is only possible if
the application is running on a EC2 instance
See cloud aws documentation here
Set it to false or remove it to avoid getting that error.
If you want to simulate the aws environment locally, the localstack project could be useful

org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'portalStatisticsTransactionDelegateProxy' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Instantiation of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Could not instantiate bean class [com.uig.portal.ws.statistics.service.PortalStatisticsTransactionDelegateProxy]: Constructor threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.apache.axis.client.AxisClient (initialization failure)

Any ideas? I tried referencing the axis jars from my portlet project, but that didn't work.
I think that your client jar interferes with standard websphere libraries. It leads to a situation where two different versions of the same class exist on the server classloader hierarchy. Your application classs loader probably picks the wrong version.
I would suggest to remove the jar from shared/app and configure a shared library instead. Then you associate the shared library with your application. You can find more details in was infocenter.

Spring 3 and MyBatis 3.0.4 / 3.0.6: MalformedParameterizedTypeException

I am trying to use Spring 3.0.5.RELEASE together with MyBatis in a Maven environment. I added the mybatis-spring dependency. This turned out not to work due to a MalformedParameterizedTypeException (a detailed stacktrace is included below).
Stacktrace:

There are quite some posts concerning this iusse, yet most of them refer to the problem as being caused by having some Spring 2 dependency somewhere in the class-path which was not the case for me:
http://mybatis-user.963551.n3.nabble.com/mybatis-integration-with-Spring-2-5-not-working-td2499805.html
http://groups.google.com/group/mybatis-user/browse_thread/thread/42698cff74504603
The first link mentions an imcompatability to Spring 2 because of the BeanFactory being paramterized in Spring 3 but not in Spring 2. Well, it turns out that the real problem was, that I had a separate MyBatis version (3.0.4) in my dependencies. I changed version 3.0.4 to version 3.0.6 and everything worked just fine. Usually, if one does not have a separate MyBatis dependency somewhere in the project (or parent projects!), the mybatis-spring artifact from Maven comes with MyBatis 3.0.6.
Side note: I had some other issues with the Maven dependency management system I was using because the changed pom.xml dependency would not propagate through to the top-level projects. Obviously after running a mvn clean install -Dmaven.text.skip=true dependencies got propagated to the top level projects and everything was working.
