I installed a "prompt" for the "dashboard". I select only one value (1st), but it shows two values (1 and 2). Tell me, is there any error here? Or how to fix this problem? (As far as I remember, these "promt" have always worked)
Here is an example of the error:
This is how the "prompt" settings look:
Have you set a filter on your column (type_) inside your analysis to 'is prompted'? In Russian, it should look like 'вводится посредством приглашения'

I have a question concerning the use of presentation variables:
1) What's the correct syntax for filtering on a presentation variable is used? You allow a user to select multiple values in a filter eg. A and B. If you use the syntax = '#{PV}{%}' it will result in this sql: = 'A, B' which of course won't exist in the data. I'd like to have this result: in ('A', 'B').
I've already found this syntax: (#{PV}['#']) which gives the correct sql, only thing here is that this doesn't work when you have a dashboard prompt where you allow 'all column values'. When no value is passed to this presentation variable, the analysis throws an error. I have no idea how to put a default value in this one. Any ideas on this?
2) Is there any configuration or setting where you can push obi to use a presentation variable in stead of using the 'normal' way of filtering as shown here:
The obi way is that it changes the relation to the relation in the prompt (if the prompt says 'is greater than' it will change here as well, even though you've put here 'is equal to'), but it will also use a value for this dimension if there's ever been a value for this, rather than listening to the value in the presentation variable of the dashboard prompt. I know that you can translate this to SQL but that's not the way to go for me. The behaviour I'd like is (in this exact order):
- when there is a value in the presentation variable in the dashboard prompt, take this.
- when there is a value for this role of the dimension, take that.
The reason why is because we have this dimension 'Afdeling' which can take up many roles but our customer asked for the roles to be hidden from the end user. This means that even though you switch roles, the end user always sees 'Afdeling' and couldn't care less in which role it is looking at its 'Afdeling'. They can switch between different dashboard pages and if I'd put on top of the page the dashboardprompt of the 'Afdeling' in the role it needed to be, the value won't pass through when switching pages to another dashboardprompt of another role. That way the end user would know something was up. So the value needs to pass through the prompt on each page, no matter what the role of that dimension.
After a bit of googling I've found the answer to question 1 myself. Thanks to this website https://www.obieetips.com/2014/05/obiee-11g-using-multiple-value-for.html I now know that the correct syntax is (#{pv_region}['#']{'West '})
I have a few columns in a list and one is called Supervised, the other relevant one is called Co-Supervisor.
I'm trying to force Co-Supervisor not to be blank if Supervised="Yes" but cannot get the column validation to work!
I've tried several different formulas in the Co-Supervisor column validation settings. I always get an error. Please help!
This is an example of one of the formulas I've used:
=IF([Supervised]="Yes",TRUE,FALSE)
I've also tried:
=AND([Supervised]="Yes",(NOT(ISBLANK([Co-Supervisor])))
What am I doing wrong?
Please use below formula:
GoTo List settings
GoTO validation settings
Use below mentioned formula
=IF([Supervised],IF([Co-Superviser]<>"",TRUE,FALSE),TRUE)
I have tested this on my environment and it is working fine.
(Note : Yes/No fields are internally stored as bit/boolean.So IF[Supervised] will directly evaluate to True/False.

I'm trying to get some server hostnames into a Command Line script with Configuration Parameters. I want each option to contain multiple hostnames.
My configuration:
vanmain => rad-ecr1,rad-ecr2,rad-ecr3,rad-myecr,rad-balancer
tor => rad2-bal,rad2-ecr1,rad2-ecr2,rad2-myecr
fvcdc => rad-fvcdc,rad-balancer
bccfa => rad-bccfa
When I select fvcdc in a build, I receive the following error message:
One of entered values 'rad-fvcdc' is not one of valid select item values: rad-ecr1,rad-ecr2,rad-ecr3,rad-myecr,rad-balancer,rad2-bal,rad2-ecr1,rad2-ecr2,rad2-myecr,rad-fvcdc,rad-balancer,rad-bccfa
How do I get the values into my script?
Dunkan,
I successfully reproduced your issue and was able to find out the root cause of it.
On my virtual installation I created a build with select type parameter, let's name it HostValue. Next, in Items field I copy/pasted values from your initial post and tried to reproduce the problem -- but executing the build was successful. Then I decided to reconfigure parameter and toggled Allow multiple checkbox, and viola, same error message as you got!
If you read small text below Value separator field, you will see, that default value is comma: , and as your values contain this symbol you got an error.
So, to solve this problem I can suggest you these variants:
If you don't need multiple choices, you can just turn off this feature and everything should work.
Replace default Value separator with custom one, for example <SEP>. Then whenever you will select multiple values for this parameter you will get something like:
"rad-ecr1,rad-ecr2,rad-ecr3,rad-myecr,rad-balancer"<SEP>"rad2-bal,rad2-ecr1,rad2-ecr2,rad2-myecr"<SEP>"rad-fvcdc,rad-balancer"
Replace comma in your values with some other separator, for example | or :. In this case it would look like:
"rad-ecr1:rad-ecr2:rad-ecr3:rad-myecr:rad-balancer","rad-fvcdc:rad-balancer"
After that you can use the value of this parameter as usual %HostValue% and parse depending on which variant you choose.
Maybe the error message from server could be a little bit clearer. Hope it will help you.
Also I would like to recommend you my plugin teamcity-web-parameters. It will allow you to create dynamic select values from external web service.
Take a look at this thread: https://teamcity-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/206843785-How-to-specify-empty-value-for-Typed-Parameter -- looks very similar to your question.
I've got a strange behaviour on a German surname "Warsoenke".
Check this out:
create table test_warsoe
as
select 'Mister Warsoenke ABC-12' name
from dual;
create index test_warsoe_index on test_warsoe(name) indextype is ctxsys.context;
select name,
score(1) as rating_warsoe,
score(2) as rating_warsoen
from test_warsoe
where contains(name,'definescore(Warsoe%,occurrence)',1) > 0
or contains(name,'definescore(Warsoen%,occurrence)',2) > 0;
The output is:
Mister Warsoenke ABC-12 | 2 | 1
I cannot figure out why? If I type "Warsoe" or "War" it returns score 2. If I type "Warsoen" it works like, as I understand, it should and returns 1.
If I do not use definescore it works in the same direction, just shows different numbers (27 and 13).
For other surnames it works perfectly and clear. But for this one...
I had a guess this is because of German database settings, e.g. "War so e..." but this idea is quite strange and still it is not clear why "Warsoen" works then.
Any ideas?
EDIT
I've found out much more surnames which are not working like the described above. And I still do not see any possible explanation of this...
Just if somebody has the same problem, the problem was in setting of DEFAULT_LEXER:
BASE_LETTER | YES
ALTERNATE_SPELLING | GERMAN
That's what we received after investigation:
To change the behaviour, either one of the two parameters have to be changed, or the additional parameter OVERRIDE_BASE_LETTER has to be set to true (according to docs).
I have an Oracle script that looks like the following:
variable L_kSite number;
variable L_kPage number;
exec SomeStoredProcedureThatReturnsASite( :L_kSite );
exec SomeStoredProcedureThatAddsAPageToTheSite( :L_kSite, :L_kPage );
update SiteToPageLinkingTable
set HomePage = 1
where kSite = :L_kSite and kPage = :L_kPage;
Supposedly the last statement is a valid use of a bind variable but when I try to run the script I get this on the last line:
SQL Error: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1
I'm not sure how to proceed here as I'm not especially proficient in Oracle.
I had a similar error on my side when I was using JDBC in Java code.
According to this website (the second awnser) it suggest that you are trying to execute the query with a missing parameter.
For instance :
exec SomeStoredProcedureThatReturnsASite( :L_kSite );
You are trying to execute the query without the last parameter.
Maybe in SQLPlus it doesn't have the same requirements, so it might have been a luck that it worked there.
Based on the comments left above I ran this under sqlplus instead of SQL Developer and the UPDATE statement ran perfectly, leaving me to believe this is an issue in SQL Developer particularly as there was no ORA error number being returned. Thank you for leading me in the right direction.
I think its related with jdbc.
I have a similar problem (missing param) when I have a where condition like this:
a = :namedparameter and b = :namedparameter
It's ok, When I have like this:
a = :namedparameter and b = :namedparameter2 (the two param has the same value)
So it's a problem with named parameters.
I think there is a bug around named parameter handling, it looks like if only the first parameter get the right value, the second is not set by driver classes. Maybe its not a bug, only I don't know something, but anyway I guess that's the reason for the difference between the SQL dev and the sqlplus running for you, because as far as I know SQL developer uses jdbc driver.
I got the same error and found the cause to be a wrong or missing foreign key. (Using JDBC)
I had this error because of some typo in an alias of a column that contained a questionmark (e.g. contract.reference as contract?ref)
I had issue in SQL Developer because I was using binds incorrectly. Was using this, copied from log:
variable = ?
should be
variable = :variable
Now SQL Developer prompts me for values.
I got the same error sporadically appearing on some user setup, while others were content with the same report. I had my parameters written in altered case and with nordic letters, for example: Henkilö. I changed them to HENKILO, using only upper case and no nordics, and it did the trick.
The driver is some unknown or varying JDBC version to Oracle.
My error desc was originated from some 3rd party bin:
Excel Plugin Error: Failed executing statement (Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 4)
SQL Statement failed. Please verify and correct it!
