In case, I use the Event Information Update (PATCH /users/{id | userPrincipalName}/events/{id}) API, how is the content change (body.content) judgment made?

Thank you for reaching out. Per the update event documentation values that should be updated should be supplied in the event body. Existing properties that are not included in the request body will maintain their previous values or be recalculated based on changes to other property values. In this case, the body should change only if supplied in the request.

Event Parameters List

I am trying to understand what exactly is stored in an event using the SAPUI5 documentation here. Where can I find a list of parameters that come with an Event? For example, I just found out that DatePicker has a parameter called "valid", but how would I know that? Surely I wouldn't have to use getParameters() for every entity right? Also when you define a function to be called in XML, do they all send the same Event type?
In general the parameters depend on the intention of the event, e.g. a change event which indicates that the source object has changed its value contains other parameters than an event which informs you that a file upload has failed.
You'll find the available event parameters in API documentation. To stick with your example: Check the API documentation of the DatePicker control, select the change event from the available events and check the available parameter. You will find the parameter valid with a description. To see the difference between the events you may also check the ListBase implementation, which defines a bunch of events.
It is good style to use getParameter in your event handler to access the parameters values.

How to know what InputParameters values are possible in Dynamics CRM Plugin context?

I'm trying to understand the plug-in sample from here.
There's this condition:

Speaking generally, not just with regard to this sample, on what prior knowledge should I base my decision to access a specific property? How could I have known to test whether the InputParameters contains a "Target" key (I assume I'm not supposed to guess it)?
And on what basis could I have known to ask whether the "Target" mapped value is of Entity type, and not some other type?
I found this post from 2 years ago, and I've found this webpage, saying (emphasis is mine):
Within a plugin, the values in context.InputParameters and
context.OutputParameters depend on the message and the stage that you
register the plugin on. For example, "Target" is present in
InputParameters for the Create and Update messages, but not the
SetState message. Also, OutputParameters only exist in a Post stage,

The best practice for doing this is to use a strongly typed approach. If, for example, you want to know which propertes are available on a CreateRequest, you would do:

It depends on which request we are talking about. See Understand the data context passed to a plug-in on MSDN.
As an example, take a look at CreateRequest. One property of
CreateRequest is named Target, which is of type Entity. This is the
entity currently being operated upon by the platform. To access the
data of the entity you would use the name “Target” as the key in the
input parameter collection. You also need to cast the returned
instance.
Note that not all requests contain a Target property that is of type
Entity, so you have to look at each request or response. For example,
DeleteRequest has a Target property, but its type is EntityReference.
In summary: Look at the actual request, e.g the CreateRequest.

Is it possible to check previous value of a key in beforeSave?

Let's say I want to perform custom logic only, say, when a user's verified field changes from false to true (in order to make sure they are allowed to be performing this operation). Is there a way in Cloud Code to see what the 'current', i.e. about-to-be-overwritten value of a field is?
I would look at changedAttributes(), previousAttributes() and previous("columnName") to see if these have been exposed in the beforeSave handler yet.
Update note: none of those methods help.
The only other option I've seen in some older questions is to check object.existed() and in that case do a get() request to load the original values before the save. Obviously this causes 2 API requests per save.
It would be great to hear back if the changed/previous methods work.

I have since done some more thorough testing, and the only option is to get() the previous version of the record. Nothing else works. This of course requires that you do it in the before-save handler.

How to force Wicket "onchange" AJAX events to be triggered if fields fail validation conditions

The specific case I've got in mind is as follows: an AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior("onchange") is added to a TextField in a form. The behavior verifies the text for certain conditions (either the model object or the form component model, doesn't matter), based on which it might display a message (or hide it, if it has already been shown).
The problem is, there are also validators added to the TextField. One of the possible (and likely) scenarios consists of the user typing in, first, a value that causes the message to be displayed by the AJAX request. If, then, he/she types in a value that doesn't pass validation, the message should disappear, but it does not.
Apparently, either the onUpdate() method for the AJAX behavior is not called at all, or I am failing in my attempts to insert a check for non-validated entries (I have tried to test for both null values and empty strings, to no avail; I have no idea what exactly Wicket's validators do to models when data is invalid).
I am wondering if someone who actually understands validators (or AJAX, actually) has any ideas on where the problem could be.
I can post edit and post code if someone tells me this is not a general issue tying validators and AJAX, but most likely a programming mistake. I still believe the former and thus I'll refrain from posting code sections, in order to keep the discussion on an API/theoretical frame.

When using an AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior, if any of the IValidators fail their validation, onError() will be called instead of onUpdate(). Wicket will effectively prevent invalid user input from reaching the IModels in your components, so the component's ModelObject will not be changed at all. The invalid input will probably remain available by means of getInput()/getConvertedInput() (not sure if it will in an AJAX scenario, it sure is in a traditional form submission).
However, take into account that IFormValidators are not executed when using this mechanism. If you've got any, you might be interested in overriding getUpdateModel() so that AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior will not bring maybe-invalid user input into your IModels, and set modelobjects manually when you're certain user input is valid.
Regarding your specific case, you could perform all the required logic in onError() (or rely on Models that will grab data from somewhere else), and just add the components that need refreshing to the AjaxRequestTarget. This is probably what's missing in your scenario.

GET vs POST in AJAX?

Why are there GET and POST requests in AJAX as it does not affect page URL anyway? What difference does it make by passing sensitive data over GET in AJAX as the data is not getting reflected to page URL?
You should use the proper HTTP verb according to what you require from your web service.
When dealing with a Collection URI like: http://example.com/resources/
GET: List the members of the collection, complete with their member URIs for further navigation. For example, list all the cars for sale.
PUT: Meaning defined as "replace the entire collection with another collection".
POST: Create a new entry in the collection where the ID is assigned automatically by the collection. The ID created is usually included as part of the data returned by this operation.

Well, as for GET, you still have the url length limitation. Other than that, it is quite conceivable that the server treats POST and GET requests differently; thus the need to be able to specify what request you're doing.
Another difference between GET and POST is the way caching is handled in browsers. POST response is never cached. GET may or may not be cached based on the caching rules specified in your response headers.
Two primary reasons for having them:
GET requests have some pretty restrictive limitations on size; POST are typically capable of containing much more information.
The backend may be expecting GET or POST, depending on how it's designed. We need the flexibility of doing a GET if the backend expects one, or a POST if that's what it's expecting.
It's simply down to respecting the rules of the http protocol.
Get - calls must be idempotent. This means that if you call it multiple times you will get the same result. It is not intended to change the underlying data. You might use this for a search box etc.
Post - calls are NOT idempotent. It is allowed to make a change to the underlying data, so might be used in a create method. If you call it multiple times you will create multiple entries.
You normally send parameters to the AJAX script, it returns data based on these parameters. It works just like a form that has method="get" or method="post". When using the GET method, the parameters are passed in the query string. When using POST method, the parameters are sent in the post body.
Generally, if your parameters have very few characters and do not contain sensitive information then you send them via GET method. Sensitive data (e.g. password) or long text (e.g. an 8000 character long bio of a person) are better sent via POST method.

I mainly use the GET method with Ajax and I haven't got any problems until now except the following:
Internet Explorer (unlike Firefox and Google Chrome) cache GET calling if using the same GET values.
So, using some interval with Ajax GET can show the same results unless you change URL with irrelevant random number usage for each Ajax GET.
Others have covered the main points (context/idempotency, and size), but i'll add another: encryption. If you are using SSL and want to encrypt your input args, you need to use POST.
When we use the GET method in Ajax, only the content of the value of the field is sent, not the format in which the content is. For example, content in the text area is just added in the URL in case of the GET method (without a new line character). That is not the case in the POST method.
