I have a series of steps say 1-10 and some of the steps repeat multiple times. I am able to record the time stamp do some simple calculation and write it into a text file at the steps where I want but the problem is when the same step repeats again it is recording it again. How can I record this timestamp only once at the start of the step and not record again when the step repeats?
Thank you!
You haven't provided many details so the answer might be not relevant. As an option, you can use a flag variables declared somewhere outside of your steps. For example for step one:
Private Step1Called As Boolean
Later, when you enter your step number 1 you can add something like this, where RecordTimeStamp is a function creating and manipulating your timestamp:
If Not Step1Called Then
RecordTimeStamp
Step1Called = True
End If

Team,
Occasionally my flow fails and its enough test it manually to running again. However, I want to avoid that this error ocurrs again to stay in calm.
The error that appears is this:
Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Periodo' inputs at line '0' and column '0': 'The template language function 'split' expects its first parameter to be of type string. The provided value is of type 'Null'. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions#split for usage details.'.
And it appears in 2 of the 4 variables that I create:
Client and Periodo
The variable Clientlooks this:
The same scenario to "Periodo".
The variables are build in the same way:
His formula:
trim(first(split(first(skip(split(outputs('Compos'),'client = '),1)),'indicator')))
His formula:
trim(first(split(first(skip(split(outputs('Compos'),'period = '),1)),'DATA_REPORT_DELIVERY')))
The same scenario to the 4 variables. 4 of them strings (numbers).
Also I attached email example where I extract the info:
CO NIV ICE REFRESCOS DE SOYA has finished successfully.CO NIV ICE REFRESCOS DE SOYA
User
binary.struggle#mail.com
Parameters
output = 7
country = 170
period = 202204012
DATA_REPORT_DELIVERY = NO
read_persistance = YES
write_persistance = YES
client = 18277
indicator_group = SALES
Could you give some help? I reach some attepmpts succeded but it fails for no apparent reason:
Thank you.
I'm not sure if you're interested but I'd do it a slightly different way. It's a little more verbose but it will work and it makes your expressions a lot simpler.
I've just taken two of your desired outputs and provided a solution for those, one being client and the other being country. You can apply the other two as need be given it's the same pattern.
If I take client for example, this is the concept.
Initialize Data
This is your string that you provided in your question.
Initialize Split Lines
This will split up your string for each new line. The expression for this step is ...
split(variables('Data'), '\n')
However, you can't just enter that expression into the editor, you need to do it and then edit in in code view and change it from \\n to \n.
Filter For 'client'
This will filter the array created from the split line step and find the item that contains the word client.
`contains(item(), 'client')`
On the other parallel branches, you'd change out the word to whatever you're searching for, e.g. country.
This should give us a single item array with a string.
Initialize 'client'
Finally, we want to extract the value on the right hand side of the equals sign. The expression for this is ...
trim(split(body('Filter_For_''client''')[0], '=')[1])
Again, just change out the body name for the other action in each case.
I need to put body('Filter_For_''client''')[0] and specify the first item in an array because the filter step returns an array. We're going to assume the length is always 1.
Result
You can see from all of that, you have the value as need be. Like I said, it's a little more verbose but (I think) easier to follow and troubleshoot if something goes wrong.
I'm trying to create a flow using Power Automate (which I'm quite new to) that can get the link/URL in an email I receive daily, then download the .csv file that normally a click to the link would do, and then save the file to a given local folder.
An example of the email I get:
Screenshot of the email I get daily
I searched in Power Automate Community and found this insightful LINK post & answer almost solved it. However, after following the steps and built the flow, it kept failing at the Compose step.
Screenshot of the Flow & Error Message
The flow
Error message
Expression used:
substring(body('Html_to_text'),add(indexOf(body('Html_to_text'),'here'),5),sub(indexOf(body('Html_to_text'),'Name'),5))
Seems the expression couldn't really get the URL/Link? I'm not sure and searched but couldn't find any more posts that can help.
Please kindly share all insights on approaches or workarounds that you think may help me solve the problem and truly thanks!

We need to breakdown the bits of the function here which needs 3 bits of info
substring(1 text to search, 2 starting position of the text you want, 3 length of text)
For example, if you were trying to return an unknown number from the text dog 4567 bird
Our function would have 3 parts.
body('Html_to_text'), this bit gets the text we are searching for
add(indexOf(body('Html_to_text'),'dog'),4), this bit finds the position in the text 4 characters after the start of the word dog (3 letters for dog + the space)
sub(sub(indexOf(body('Html_to_text'),'bird'),2)),add(indexOf(body('Html_to_text'),'dog'),4)), I've changed the structure of your code here because this part needs to return the length of the URL, not the ending position. So here, we take the position of the end of the URL (position of the word bird minus two spaces) and subtract it from the position of the start of the URL (position of the word dog + 4 spaces) to get the length.
In your HTML to text output, you need to check what the HTML looks like, and search for a word before the URL starts, and a word after the URL starts, and count the exact amount of spaces to reach the URL. You can then put those words and counts into your code.
More generally, when you have a complicated problem that you need to troubleshoot, you can break it down into steps. For example. Rather than putting that big mess of code into a single block, you can make each chunk of the code in its own compose, and then one final compose to bring them all together - that way when you run it you can see what information each bit is giving out, or where it is failing, and experiment from there to discover what is wrong.
I have time for example I have in records time written in this way: 00:02:24 or 15:22:45, and now I want to make another column (hours), where can be values for example for time 02:43:22 is value 2, or for time 23:22:14, is value 23 and so on. But I don't know how can I do that, I tried number range, but unsuccessfully.
Here is a picture, how i want to be:
Thanks.
You can use the Modified JavaScript Value step.
I do not know which type is your Time.
If it is a String, a var Hour = Time.substr(0,2); will do.
If it is a Date, use var Hour = Time.getHour();.
If the type is something else, then convert in a String first.
To do this:
drag-and.drop the step Modified JavaScript Valueand link it to the data flow provider (in the example a Data grid).
edit this step and add your script. (Note that you can quickly add the input variable with a double click. Note also that clicking on the Transformation Function in the left menu gives you the list of available function additional to the Javascript built-in collection).
Click on the Get variable button, keep the variable you need (here Hour), and define/redefine its type (here String).
That's done: OK and preview.
If needed, adapt to the type of your input flow. For example Hour = Hour+'' to force a type conversion into a String.
I'm stuck on an error in my App Inventor 2 application. I' m using three checkboxes, so the user to pass values to a timer interval in a clock component.
The values are stored in a variable as a list of three values of miliseconds (e.g. 1600, 1800, 2000). I check in code when and which checkbox is checked and then pass it over to a TinyDB database as a tag.
Problem is that, in Do it and on the device running the app, I get the following error as title suggests.
Here is the coding blocks I've used so far:
Does anyone be kind enough to direct me to how solving this error? Is it possible to pass values to a clock component through this logic. I've used a listPicker with success sometime ago, but I need it done with a checkBoxes layout. Thank you all in advance for your answers.
[Edit1]
To overcome this error and before #Taifun's remarks and suggestions, I followed the variable path, to pass values in the timer interval field. Do not now if it is very efficient but it is working for now. Here is the coding blocks:
Bracket pairs like this () represent a list.
The operation TimerInterval cannot accept the arguments: [(1800)]
This is, what the error message is trying to tell you: You are trying to assign a list, which has the item 1800 inside, to the TimerInterval property of a clock component.
You should assign the value directly instead.
Also you should think about the default value: which value should be used, if the user did not store anything in TinyDB... You are currently using an empty string in the valueIfTagNotThere socket... This does not really make sense... A better value would be for example 1000 ... same for the else part in your if-then-else statement...
Writing script in LR for Siebel Open UI. All my requests contains this parameter, with different values. What does it mean?
Examples (from different requests):
"Name=SWEIPS", Value = #0'0'1'0'GetProfileAttr'3'attrName'SBRF Position Id'"
"Name=SWEIPS", Value = #0'0''0'3'1-SQE21A, 1-SQL21E, 1SQE31"
And so on.
Can I simple delete it?
Can I simply delete it? - No, you’re not supposed to delete it.
Compare SWEIPS value by recording twice or trice with different data sets, check is there any date/time values in SWEIPS. If there is nothing to correlate leave as it is, no need to delete.
Ensure to correlate values like SWET,ROWID,SWECount,SWEC and so on.
