In my barcode contains a Norwegian character (Ålesund). But while scanning it on the Zebra device I am not getting the letter (Å) instead I am getting something like this (lesund).
The configuration that I am following the app is,
if (null != _mScanner)
{
if (_mScanner.IsEnabled && !_mScanner.IsReadPending)
{
//EMDK: Configure the scanner settings
var config = _mScanner.GetConfig();
if (null != config)
{
config.ScanParams.DecodeLEDFeedback = true;
config.DecoderParams.Code39.Enabled = true;
config.DecoderParams.Code93.Enabled = true;
config.DecoderParams.Code128.Enabled = true;
config.DecoderParams.Ean8.Enabled = true;
config.DecoderParams.Pdf417.Enabled = true;
config.DecoderParams.I2of5.Enabled = true;
_mScanner.SetConfig(config);
}
}
}
Can anyone please help me to identify what exactly I am missing in the config?
You can set the below reader param. That will solve your issue.
config.ReaderParams.ReaderSpecific.ImagerSpecific.CharacterSetSelection = ScannerConfig.CharacterSet.Iso88591;

I need to check current version of Installed Application and Playstore application version. If it is not same app should navigate to Playstore .
im using xam.Plugin.LatestVersion(2.1.0) To get the latestversion number of application from play console. unfortunately not getting latest version number of application from play store. The below code im using.
private async void ChekAppVersion()
{
try
{
latestVersionNumber = await CrossLatestVersion.Current.GetLatestVersionNumber();
installedVersionNumber = CrossLatestVersion.Current.InstalledVersionNumber;
if (installedVersionNumber != latestVersionNumber)
{
await DisplayAlert("New Version", "There is a new version of this app available. Please update now?", "Ok");
await CrossLatestVersion.Current.OpenAppInStore();
ChekAppVersion();
}
else
{
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
}
}
Im getting the installedVersionNumber, but im unable to get the latestVersionNumber(Playstore).
Please help on this.
They have removed the version from div, now it's displayed with js, but data is still there inside a <script> tag. My current fixed code is:
private bool _lockCheckUpdates;
public async Task<bool> CheckNeedUpdate()
{
if (Connectivity.NetworkAccess != NetworkAccess.Internet || _lockCheckUpdates)
return false;
_lockCheckUpdates = true;
try
{
HttpClient myClient = CreateClient();
if (Device.RuntimePlatform == Device.Android)
{
var bundle = "com.todo.app"; //ANDROID BUNDLE NAME HERE
string url = $"https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id={bundle}&hl=en";
string raw = await myClient.GetStringAsync(new Uri(url));
var doc = new HtmlDocument();
doc.LoadHtml(raw);
var scripts = doc.DocumentNode.Descendants()
.Where(n => n.Name == "script" && n.InnerText.Contains("AF_initDataCallback({key: 'ds:4'"))
.ToArray();
var script = scripts.First().InnerText;
var engine = new Jurassic.ScriptEngine();
var eval = "(function() { var AF_initDataCallback = function(p) { return p.data[1][2][140][0][0][0]; }; return " + script + " })()";
var result = engine.Evaluate(eval);
//var json = JSONObject.Stringify(engine, result); //for debug, check in browser console with JSON.parse(json)
var remote = $"{result}".ToDouble();
var local = App.Version.ToDouble();
return local < remote;
}
else if (Device.RuntimePlatform == Device.iOS)
{
var bundle = "com.todo.app";//iOS BUNDLE NAME HERE
string url = $"http://itunes.apple.com/lookup?bundleId={bundle}";
string raw = await myClient.GetStringAsync(new Uri(url));
var dto = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<AppStoreRecord>(raw);
double local = App.Version.ToDouble();
if (dto.ResultCount > 0)
{
double remote = dto.Results[0].Version.ToDouble();
return remote > local;
}
}
}
catch (Exception e)
{
Logger.Error("CheckNeedUpdate", e);
}
finally
{
_lockCheckUpdates = false;
}
return false;
}
Using nugets
Jurassic to evaluate the script on page,
HtmlAgilityPack to parse html,
Xamarin.Essentials to check if we are online,
and AppoMobi.Specials for .ToDouble() etc
I hope this could also be useful to fix https://github.com/edsnider/latestversionplugin/issues/43 :)
The plugin you are using no longer works for Android https://github.com/edsnider/latestversionplugin/issues/43
You will need to find a new way to get the desired information.
PR has been made on this plugin... it works again ;-)
Does anybody know how to get the serial number of a device?
I know I can do this in a NativeScript-5 application (TypeScript):
import { Page } from "tns-core-modules/ui/page";
import * as platformModule from "tns-core-modules/platform";
export function onNavigatingTo(args: EventData) {
let page = <Page>args.object;
console.log("Manufacturer:" + platformModule.device.manufacturer);
console.log("Model:" + platformModule.device.model);
console.log("UUID:" + platformModule.device.uuid);
}
But I couldnt find any property for the device's serial number.
Anybody an idea? It's alright if your solution only covers Android (since my project is targeting Android tablets only).
Thanks!
Update:
Manoj pointed me to some Java code that probably solves my problem. However, I wasn't able to marshal the following code to TypeScript.
public static String getManufacturerSerialNumber() {
String serial = null;
try {
Class<?> c = Class.forName("android.os.SystemProperties");
Method get = c.getMethod("get", String.class, String.class);
serial = (String) get.invoke(c, "ril.serialnumber", "unknown");
} catch (Exception ignored) {}
return serial;
}
Maybe anybody could help me? That would be awesome!
iOS never allows any confidential information to be accessed by apps, that applies to serial number too. With Android, you may read the serial number with
android.os.Build.SERIAL
I had it tested with Playground
Edit 1:
Manufactures like Samsung seems to have a different serial number which is not same as android.os.Build.SERIAL. Here is another SO thread that seems very relevant for Samsung, the sample code is written in Java.
Edit 2:
Here is how you may get serial number on Samsung devices
let serialNumber = '';
try {
const cl = application.android.context.getClassLoader();
const SystemProperties = cl.loadClass('android.os.SystemProperties');
const paramTypes = (<any>Array).create(java.lang.Class, 2);
paramTypes[0] = java.lang.String.class;
paramTypes[1] = java.lang.String.class;
const getMethod = SystemProperties.getMethod('get', paramTypes);
const params = (<any>Array).create(java.lang.Object, 2);
params[0] = new java.lang.String('ril.serialnumber');
params[1] = new java.lang.String('unknown');
serialNumber = getMethod.invoke(SystemProperties, params);
} catch (err) {
console.error(err);
}
Updated Playground
You can check properties 'ro.serialno', 'ril.serialnumber', 'gsm.sn1', 'sys.serialnumber'
Android: How to programmatically access the device serial number shown in the AVD manager (API Version 8)
In my case Samsung TAB S2 has 2 serials. Property 'ro.serialno' more accurate then 'ril.serialnumber'. So i check it first.
getSerial() {
if (isAndroid) {
let serialNumber = null;
try {
const cl = application.android.context.getClassLoader();
const SystemProperties = cl.loadClass('android.os.SystemProperties');
const paramTypes = (<any>Array).create(java.lang.Class, 2);
paramTypes[0] = java.lang.String.class;
paramTypes[1] = java.lang.String.class;
const getMethod = SystemProperties.getMethod('get', paramTypes);
const params = (<any>Array).create(java.lang.Object, 2);
// Reorder if needed
const props = ['ro.serialno', 'ril.serialnumber', 'gsm.sn1', 'sys.serialnumber'];
for(let i = 0, len = props.length; i < len; i++) {
params[0] = new java.lang.String(props[i]);
serialNumber = getMethod.invoke(SystemProperties, params);
if (serialNumber !== '') {
return serialNumber;
}
}
} catch (err) {
console.error(err);
}
return serialNumber;
}
}

I'm Working on Brother Label Printer QL-710W using Xamarin.Android.
I have created a Android bindings project and Added jar files and .so files as shown below.
I'm using Visual Studio.
Jars >
BrotherPrintLibrary.jar; BuildAction: EmbeddedJar
MobilePrintLib.jar; BuildAction: ReferenceJar
NativeLibraries > armeabi >
libAndrJFPDFEMB.so; BuildAction: EmbeddedNativeLibrary
libcreatedata.so; BuildAction: EmbeddedNativeLibrary

ClassTest.cs
public bool PrintFile(string fileurl, NetPrinter printer)
{
Task <bool> printTask = new Task<bool>(() => {
bool success = true;
try
{
Printer myPrinter = new Printer();
PrinterInfo myPrinterInfo = new PrinterInfo();
PrinterStatus status = new PrinterStatus();
LabelInfo mLabelInfo = new LabelInfo();
myPrinterInfo.PrinterModel = PrinterInfo.Model.Ql710w;
myPrinterInfo.IpAddress = printer.IpAddress;
myPrinterInfo.MacAddress = printer.MacAddress;
myPrinterInfo.Port = PrinterInfo.PortEnum.Net;
myPrinterInfo.PrintMode=PrinterInfo.PrintModeEnum.FitToPage;
myPrinterInfo.PaperSize = PrinterInfo.PaperSizeEnum.Custom;
myPrinterInfo.Orientation = PrinterInfo.OrientationEnum.Portrait;
myPrinterInfo.LabelNameIndex = LabelInfo.QL700.W62.Ordinal();
myPrinterInfo.ScaleValue = 1;
mLabelInfo.LabelNameIndex = LabelInfo.QL700.ValueOf("W62").Ordinal();
mLabelInfo.IsAutoCut = true;
mLabelInfo.IsEndCut = true;
myPrinter.SetPrinterInfo(myPrinterInfo);
myPrinter.SetLabelInfo(mLabelInfo);
myPrinter.StartCommunication();
status = myPrinter.PrintFile(fileurl);
if (status.ErrorCode != PrinterInfo.ErrorCode.ErrorNone)
success = false;
myPrinter.EndCommunication();
}catch(Exception ex)
{
Console.WriteLine("ERROR : {0}",ex.Message);
success = false;
}
return success;
});
printTask.Start();
var isSuccess = printTask.Result;
return isSuccess;
}
I'm getting printers list successfully from network. But when I'm calling above method it is getting exception at myPrinter.SetPrinterInfo(myPrinterInfo); as "Couldn't load createdata from loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[DexPathList[[zip file \"/data/app/PocAndroidArchieve.PocAndroidArchieve-2.apk\"],nativeLibraryDirectories=[/data/app-lib/PocAndroidArchieve.PocAndroidArchieve-2, /vendor/lib, /system/lib]]]: findLibrary returned null"
Please suggest me if any one has idea to work with jar's and dependent .so files.
Thanks in advance.
I recently upgraded to the Xamarin.Mac Unified API. Before the upgrade I was using a FolderBrowserDialog by means of System.Windows.Forms. By upgrading I no longer have access to the System.Windows.Forms namespace. I contacted customer support and they suggested referencing the native APIs. So I added this nuget with its dependencies. The presence of that nuget took away the intellisense errors for the following code:
var dir = Environment.SpecialFolder.MyPictures.ToString ();
var dlg = new CommonOpenFileDialog ();
dlg.Title = "Exclude Subdirectories";
dlg.IsFolderPicker = true;
dlg.InitialDirectory = dir;
dlg.AddToMostRecentlyUsedList = false;
dlg.AllowNonFileSystemItems = false;
dlg.DefaultDirectory = dir;
dlg.EnsureFileExists = true;
dlg.EnsurePathExists = true;
dlg.EnsureReadOnly = false;
dlg.EnsureValidNames = true;
dlg.Multiselect = false;
dlg.ShowPlacesList = true;
if (dlg.ShowDialog () == CommonFileDialogResult.Ok) {
var folder = dlg.FileName;
}
But at runtime it busts citing a System.DllNotFoundException for ole32.dll. Any ideas of how to overcome this? This link doesn't make it sound hopeful. My only option at this point is to revert back to the classic api...and if I do that I don't believe it can ever be put in the app store.
No need for that nuget at all. You can accomplish a FolderBrowserDialog with this code:
NSOpenPanel openDlg = NSOpenPanel.OpenPanel;
openDlg.Prompt = "Select Directory"; //Defaults to OPEN
openDlg.CanChooseDirectories = true;
openDlg.CanChooseFiles = false;
openDlg.Title = "Choose Monitored Directory";
openDlg.AllowsMultipleSelection = false;
openDlg.CanCreateDirectories = true;
openDlg.ReleasedWhenClosed = true;
openDlg.DirectoryUrl = new NSUrl (Environment.GetFolderPath (System.Environment.SpecialFolder.UserProfile));
openDlg.Begin (result => {
var url = openDlg.Url;
if (result == 1) {
//directory selected
} else {
//cancelled
}
});
In my application I am using TwainDotNet library and I am scanning a specific area from flatbed.
public Prasymas scanForm(Prasymas prasymas, bool isItFirstScan)
{
Enabled = false;
_settings = new ScanSettings();
_settings.UseDocumentFeeder = false;
_settings.ShowTwainUI = false;
_settings.ShowProgressIndicatorUI = true;
_settings.UseDuplex = false;
_settings.Resolution =
false
? ResolutionSettings.Fax : ResolutionSettings.ColourPhotocopier;
_settings.Page = PageSettings.Default;
if (!isItFirstScan)
{
_prasymas = prasymas;
AreaSettings = new AreaSettings(Units.Centimeters, 0.0f, 0.0f, (float)(_prasymas.maxScanAukstis), 0.0f);
}
else
{
_settings.Area = !false ? null : AreaSettings;
}
_settings.ShouldTransferAllPages = true;
_settings.Rotation = new RotationSettings()
{
AutomaticRotate = false,
AutomaticBorderDetection = false
};
try
{
_twain.SelectSource();
_twain.StartScanning(_settings);
}
catch (TwainException ex)
{
if (ex.Message == "Error opening data source")
{
_twain.SelectSource();
scanForm(_prasymas, isItFirstScan);
Enabled = true;
}
else
throw ex;
}
catch (Exception exc)
{
if (exc.Message == "Pasiuto skeneris")
{
scanForm(_prasymas, true);
}
else
throw exc;
}
Enabled = true;
return prasymas;
}
but in result when scanning starts and a scan source is Twain driver it scans full page, but if I choose WIA driver I get specifically selected area.
Main Idea is then App starts for the first time it scans full page, next time it scans only specific height of the page.
After reading documentation I found out that just needed to comment out rotation part and everything started to work. I can scan selected area.
