Turn off coloured change tracking areas in Visual Studio 2022 - visual-studio

Visual Studio 2022 now shows if content is edited or new on the left side of the text editor:
I think this used to be in the scrollbar and could be turned off there. Now I don't see it in scrollbar options and can find nothing on google about turning it off.
Right clicking on it does nothing, I've looked around in Options but can see nothing.
How do I turn this off?
thx

Open Visual a Visual Studio Project go to : Tools/Option/Text Editor/ General And turn Off the Flag on 'Track Changes' checkbox.

How to remove git difference indicators in Visual Studio 2022?

I opened Visual Studio 2022 today and got these symbols on my left sidebar.
I didn't enable those, they just appeared. If i click on them, they show this:
They are really annoying, especially since the red arrows appear on the right sidebars in nearly the same color as error indicators.
I couldn't find an option to turn these off, or find a solution online. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?
You will want to turn off Git Line Staging support.
Go to Tools → Options → Environment → Preview Features and uncheck the "Git line-staging support" option and restart the IDE.
Visual Studio Version 17.3 turned this feature on by default. By turning it off, Visual Studio will revert back to having the "green and yellow" change indicator bars instead of these Git ones. It will also remove those red arrows you speak of.

Visual Studio: prevent collapsing folders in solution explorer when opened

Every time I open a project in Visual Studio 2022 all folders in the solution explorer tree are collapsing. This is very annoying and interrupts my workflow. I couldn't find any setting for this. Is there a way to prevent this behavior?
This also appears to happen in older versions of Visual Studio.
As #arkord commented on their own question, the auto-collapse is not coming from VS 2022, but rather from the CodeMaid extension. However they cited the incorrect settings.
In Visual Studio, from the menu bar, select "Extensions" - "CodeMaid" - "Options..."
Then select the "Collapsing" section
Uncheck both the options for:
Collapse solutions when they are opened
If there is only one project in a solution, keep it expanded but still collapse its children
Select the Save button
Now when opening your solutions in Visual Studio 2022, they should not auto-collapse, instead returning to where you last left off.

Visual Studio 2019 - can't change profile settings, opens FolderProfile.pubxml instead

I have a problem with Visual Studio 2019.
From what I have seen in tutorials, during publishing an application, I should be able to change profile settings, by clicking a small pencil (I included a screenshot, it's a little pencil next to "false" and other settings.) However, every time i click it, it opens FolderProfile.pubxml file in Visual Studio instead! Is this indended behaviour, am I doing something completely wrong? How to change that? Screenshot
My problem fixed when I updated visual studio.
Also go to extensions and update all.
Now show UI options.

Visual Studio Permanently Disable Overwrite

I have a minor annoyance with Visual Studio. In the bottom right hand corner of Visual Studio, there is a INS/OVR button to toggle Insert/Overwrite. I always have this button set to INS, and I always want it to be set to INS.
However, sometimes when I build the solution, Visual Studio changes this back to OVR. I have to click on the button to change it back to INS, which is slightly inconvenient.
I do not know why this setting sometimes changes.
Is there anyway I can permanently disable the overwrite mode in Visual Studio or prevent solution builds from changing this setting?
Visual Studio, Tools > Options > Environment > Keyboard, remove the shortcut binding for Edit.OvertypeMode
I don't think you can permanently turn insert/overwrite off. Are you accidentally pressing insert on your keyboard? You can press the insert key on your keyboard or Shift+0 on the numpad to toggle it back again.
Go to Visual Studio Code's settings and type "overtype" in the search bar, and set it to 'never'.
Hope this helped! :)
Sometimes visual studio wont disable overtype even if you hit insert with numlock on, If this happens just close script and open it again and it will work. This is a bug in visual studio.

Visual Studio 2010 - Productivity Power Tools - Highlight Current Line's colour resets on VS reload

I have Visual Studio 2010 Pro installed with "Productivity Power Tools" being the only extention and "Highlight Current Line" the only option enbled on that extention.
I then change the colour of the "Current Line (Extention)" to a darker colour (as my background is black not white and the light grey is to harsh)
BUT every time I open/restart Visual Stuio 2010 the current line is highlighted with the default light grey colour again. I can correct this by opening up "Tools", "Options...", "Enviroment", "Fonts and Colors" and clicking "OK" but I need to do this EVERY TIME I load VS2010.
Does anyone know a work around or solution to this?
Thanks in Advance.
EDIT:
Just to be clear the settings are NOT lost they are just not applied after I start VS2010 until I enter the "Fonts and Colors" option section and just click OK.
I don't even need to change or reapply the settings as they are already there! I suspect a fault in the power tools extension but from what I have read on the site MS aren't updating them now as they are working on the next version of VS.
I know of no real reason this is happening to you. I suggest you get the latest updates of Visual Studio 2010 and Power Tools if you haven't already.
As a work around you might save your settings through the Tools|Import and Export Settings menu. Export only Options>Environment>Fonts and Colors
Disable the powertools option for current line highlight and enable the Resharper current line highlight.
Works like a charm
