How do companies like Google or Microsoft make theme-changing wallpapers? - themes

I was messing around with my ChromeOS wallpapers then I wondered... How do they make it change with your theme? Like the default Windows 11 wallpaper or the ChromeOS Radiance and Element collections?

Change Chrome Dev Tools Touch Cursor

Im currently developing a web app which is mostly in dark colors. The app is operated via touch, so i set my chrome dev tools to emulate a mobile device. The problem is now that the cursor is dark on dark and i find it hard to find the cursor. Is there a way to somehow change the appearance of the mobile cursor?
I'm on windows 10 and have the latest chrome version 107.0.5304.88
I searched the installation files of chrome to somehow find the icon/picture which is used for the cursor but i don't know much about desktop apps so i didn't find anything

Turn off cleartype/font-smoothing and panning # Win CE 7

Hi I got a lil problem with a mobile handheld computer (Motorola MC9200) running Windows CE 7.0.
Within the browser (Internet Explorer + software like Naurtech CETerm) there is some font-smoothing or cleartype. Problem about that is that , and font with a css style of font-weight 900 for example look exactly the same as normal font. So you can't tell the difference.
Another problem would be the panning. I'm running a fullscreen web application and the user shouldn't be able to pan the whole screen 1 cm out. Funny thing is while the user is panning the whole picture the font-smoothing/cleartype is disabled and you can tell the difference between font-weights.
Anyone no a solution to that? I already searched the registry for cleartype and font but didn't find anything helpful. I don't have other WinCE 7.0 devices so I don't know if that problem is WinCE 7.0 related or related to the device.
I don't have a device at hand, but WEC 7.0 offers the SystemParametersInfo function that sounds a bit like what you're after.
Call it with uiAction set to SPI_SETFONTSMOOTHING to disable ClearType on a system-wide basis:
SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETFONTSMOOTHING, FALSE, NULL, SPIF_SENDCHANGE);
Earlier versions of Windows CE had a registry setting to allow OEM's to disable ClearType, but I've been unable to locate this setting in WEC 7.0, so my guess is it's no longer supported and ClearType is always enabled by default.

Resizable panel/grid for Windows 10 Universal App

I need to make a resizable side panel (intended to display numerous properties and tools) for my Windows 10 Universal App. I found there is a GridSplitter for WPF apps, but it seems this control doesn't work for Win10 Apps. Is there any other way how to achieve this functionality?

windows 8 glass effect

I am asking how to make a glass effect for winform in windows 8.
I just saw some methods which call the DWM to make this before windows 8. But it seems DWM was no longer valid in windows 8. So is there any other methods to make glass effect winform in windows 8?
Thanks!
Windows 8 does not provide support for the glass effect of Vista/7. If you want to make your windows display with glass effect, you need to code it yourself, or use one of the 3rd party solutions that do so.

How to support/switch between different color themes in Windows Phone applications

Hi the app I'm developing uses the current system theme resources for what to display, but I'd also like to create 2 additional themes. My questions are what is a good way of doing this programatically, and what would the standard GUI be like to do this? Currentl my app is just a single page/window and would like to avoid using a settings page unless that would be how it's typically done. Thanks!
P.S. - I'm new to Windows Phone and have never actually used anything besides the emulator, so I don't have any exerience using any apps on that platform.
Create your own resources to do that.
Usually on a Windows Phone app we use resources like PhoneAccentBrush for the main accent and PhoneBackgroundBrush for the background theme.
