Hi the app I'm developing uses the current system theme resources for what to display, but I'd also like to create 2 additional themes. My questions are what is a good way of doing this programatically, and what would the standard GUI be like to do this? Currentl my app is just a single page/window and would like to avoid using a settings page unless that would be how it's typically done. Thanks!
P.S. - I'm new to Windows Phone and have never actually used anything besides the emulator, so I don't have any exerience using any apps on that platform.
Create your own resources to do that.
Usually on a Windows Phone app we use resources like PhoneAccentBrush for the main accent and PhoneBackgroundBrush for the background theme.

I have an application with web interface. Unfortunately, it has all disadvantages of being a web page:
It doesn't have a standalone window, so users cannot manage it via the taskbar.
Users see the address line with something like 'http://localhost:8080' that is not a good idea for home users.
If users click on a tray icon, there is no way to activate the tab in a browser, which contain the application interface.
So, it would be nice to have a wrapper application with a browser within.
In case of IE I know it's possible to create a window with Trident ActiveX component. But what if it's Windows XP with IE6 but installed latest Chrome? I'd like to prefer Chrome since it supports a lot more features which the user will never see.
So, is there a way to wrap a page into Chrome/Firefox and make it look like a standalone application, if one of them is presented in the user's system? (The application shouldn't install anything large, so Chromium build is not an option).
P.S. I'm not interested in supporting other platforms than Windows.

I cannot see how you could do this. Windows themes rely on DWM composition which is enabled for the login session. It cannot be partially enabled for individual applications.
Is there any tutorial available for creating Universal UI which can run on iPad as well as iPhone on different resolution. I tried looking in the official documentation, but couldn't find anything about UI files.
I notice you've tagged this question with Marmalade, so I'm assuming you are talking about how to write a Universal app in Marmalade? If so then creating a Universal UI is pretty much up to you to implement in the best way you see fit.
By default all Marmalade apps are Universal apps, though you can limit to iPad only with the MKB setting iphone-ipad-only.
Marmalade does come with the iwui module that allows you to lay out user interfaces with buttons and text boxes etc. but ultimately unless you have a very simple UI you'll need to either provide different UI layouts for each screen resolution/orientation you wish to support, or do some fancy laying out in code.
Apple wisely chose to persuade developers into creating separate UIs for iPhone and iPad since the one-layout-fits-all approach generally looks bad at any screen size.
Is it possible to create a live tile inside our windows phone 7 application? I am asking the similar functionality as in AppHub app "...i'm a WP7!".

Just be careful that it looks good and makes sense in your app - it's a very dynamic control and you can't see the Title of the control all the time.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to create a screensaver that can cycle through some webpages? I would like to create a screensaver that displays various dashboard and statistics pages that are available in our Hudson CI server. This is a windows machine, with firefox and IE available.
Extra bonus points if I can do it in ruby! :-)

I programmed a lot of screensavers in Delphi, but I think the following should be applicable to all sorts of development environments.
You create the main form of your screensaver and put an IE-control on it (or if your development environment does not support it, an OLE-container) and then create a timer which changes the webpage shown by the IE-control.

Ok, so after a few false starts I found a pretty simple solution. I used Visual Studio Express Edition to create a windows forms application. You just need to drag a WebBrowser control onto the form and resize to full screen at startup. Then all you have to do is hook up the event handlers to deal with the mouse and keyboard.
