How to achieve parameterization similar to CsvDataSetConfig using UserDefinedVariables Control In JMeter? - jmeter

In JMeter, I need to parameterize sequence of inter-linked values using "UserDefinedVariables" control. I am able to achieve the same with "CSVDataSetConfig", but I need to use "UserDefinedVariables" as I have only two rows of input data which I am sending to my API request and i will repeat the same values for further iterations.
Example:
Expected Result:
Iteration 1: Yasir,Nisha,India
Iteration 2: Azar,Riya,Dubai
Thanks in advance.

Jmeter - Need to check empty tags in SOAP request

I have a SOAP request. I need to use jmeter to test multiple requests for same method, each time passing one missing element.
How can I achieve this ?
I tried writing the tags into csv using CSV data config , but I am unable to enter empty values in the csv, each time for a different tag in each csv row.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
The CSV Data Set Config will read the value from next line only on the next iteration of the thread (virtual user), you cannot read more than one line within the bounds of a single iteration. You might want to take a look at __CSVRead() function where it's you who decides when to proceed to the next line.
If the __CSVRead() function isn't applicable for your use case be aware that you can build a request body, i.e. XML from CSV file using JSR223 PreProcessor and Groovy language.
See Creating XML chapter of Groovy documentation for more details.

Jmeter can get parameters?

My question is - if I run a test via Jmeter, for example , if it's a site which enables you to book a flight, and you choose your source and destination when you record it.
Is it possible to pass different values to the destination field? I mean, maybe a txt file with some destinations and pass it to the Jmeter test and then, you will have some tests which each of them is running with a different destination?
If yes, how can I do it?
It's not necessary that it will be a txt file. Just a way to pass different values to one parameter.
Important: I'm using blazemeter plugin for chrome.
Thanks a lot,
appreciated.
You can use CSV Data Set Config. It is very easy to use for parameterizing variables in the test plan.
Check this article on blazemeter to understand the CSV Data Set Config quickly.
Depending on what you're trying to achieve you can go for:
HTML Link Parser. See Poll Example which shows how you can use it for selecting random values from inputs
You can extract all the possible values from the previous response using a Post-Processor, most probably CSS Selector Extractor and configure each thread to use its own (or random) value from the input
And last, but not the least, you can use an external data source like .txt or .csv file and utilize __StringFromFile() function or CSV Data Set Config so each thread (virtual user) would read the next value from file instead of using recorded hard-coded values.

Jmeter extract value from Get Request

In this example request 226 is main Post request which internally executes 1 Post and 2 Get requests during run time. how i can extract dynamic code value from one of Get request of 226 which is input for the request 228.
I know how to extract from response using RegEx and Xpath. I this case need help Passing Data From a Request to Another Request
Hopefully you've already found the solution, but I believe that is what you've been looking for:
To extract data from a response, you can go for Regular Expression Extractor in this case which is faster and consumes less memory and CPU compared to other extractors like XPath which is worse.
This blog has decent info on extracting information using Regular Expression Extractor.
You are already saying that you know how to use them. Then it is very easy to pass the value to another request. You just use the variable using below syntax to access the value - ${variablename}. Whereever you need to substitute the value, just use ${variablename}.
Ex: code=${code}&stats=${stats}
Remember: Scope of this variable is within the thread for a thread group.
I don't think you will be able to bypass OAuth 2.0 login challenge using correlation. See How to Run Performance Tests on OAuth Secured Apps with JMeter for feasible options.
you can use beanshell sampler to process the results and have prev to get the list of results
org.apache.jmeter.samplers.SampleResult [] temp=prev.getSubResults();
print(temp[2].getURL())

Anyway to auto set jmeter assertions to initial responses?

I am building out a test suite in jmeter and want to set the assertions to the initial responses that I get from the api calls. Is there any way to do this besides copy pasta?
For clarity each individual call has its own assertion, which for the moment is the response it is receiving.
I want the assertions to be populated by the responses.
If I understood currectly - you are coming up with some JMeter-Baseline script - you also assume that the response you get now is correct - that is what you expect to get it in future as well , so you want to put the response data in the assertion.
If yes, JMeter will not remember the initial responses. So you need to create your script accordingly.
You can have a beanshell postprocessor to write the the responsedata in a CSV file. Later you modify the script to look for the assertion string from CSV file to compare. This is the statement to get the Response Data.
prev.getResponseDataAsString()
As per How to Use JMeter Assertions in 3 Easy Steps guide, JMeter Assertions have their scope.
If you put an assertion at the same level as all requests it'll apply to all of them. See image below for explanation:
I would use a CSV file with the URL and the assertion string you want to match.

understanding one of "jMeter - Reducing resource requirements" recommendation

Can somebody please explain following recommendation on http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/best-practices.html#lean_mean
Rather than using lots of similar samplers, use the same sampler in a loop, and use variables (CSV Data Set) to vary the sample. Or perhaps use the Access Log Sampler. [The Include Controller does not help here, as it adds all the test elements in the file to the test plan.]
This is intended to fix the following:
Suppose you have 2 requests:
test?name=toto
test?name=titi
A basic and bad way to do it would be to create 2 Http Requests one with each request above.
What recommandation says is:
create 1 Http Request with:
test?name=${value}
And create a CSV Dataset with a one column data and a variable named:
value
CSV file will contain:
toto
titi
And use 2 iterations, which will do exactly the same.
Of course here you have 2 rows, but in real life you would have hundreds or thousands.
