I am having issues running my Flutter apps on my iPhone 11 device. The app runs fine on the simulator. It is when I install it on my device with flutter run that the problem occurs. I ran flutter doctor and it said there were no issues found.
What is happening is that the app installs on the device seemingly fine. However, when you launch it (and trust the developer in iOS settings), the app just crashes.
I tried testing this with a fresh Flutter app, to see if it was a problem with the recent update to 1.12.13 hotfix 8. And, even the fresh app is crashing on my phone.
Is there a solution for this problem or am I going to have to downgrade to an older version of Flutter?
Thanks
I'm having an issue running iOS simulator from Expo. I'm seeing these two errors:
Trying to open the project in iOS simulator...
Opening iOS simulator
iOS Simulator device failed to boot. Try opening Simulator first, then running your app.
Error installing or running app. Error: Timed out waiting for iOS Simulator device to boot.
Trying to open the project in iOS simulator...
Booting device in iOS simulator...
There was a problem booting a device in iOS Simulator. Quit Simulator, and try again.
Error installing or running app. Error: No iPhone devices available in Simulator
An iPhone 5s with iOS 11.2 is clearly available and works in Xcode simulator with a simple project ran from Xcode which tells me this is an Expo issue.
I'm using:
Expo version: 3.4.1
Xcode version: 9.2
Mac OS: 10.12.6
Please note - I cannot upgrade my OS. So Xcode version 9.2 is what I must use.
Things I've tried:
set command line tools as correct Xcode version with path /Applications/Xcode.app
delete all simulators and re-add them
start simulator before running app / start simulator after running app
delete all contents under Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/
I know this question has been asked before, but no solid answer has been given. Maybe someone has figured it out since then.
your phone runs a newer version of software, so you won't be able to use Xcode version 9.2, you have to use 11.2 or newer before running it on your own phone.
if you want it to work with a newer version of iOS, you have to link the device files of newer Xcode version to the version you use.
https://community1.pega.com/community/pega-support/question/building-mobile-apps-newer-ios-versions-older-xcode-versions
this link should help you with your problem, just follow their steps
you have to do this because each iOS has its own files which comes with the new versions of Xcode
I hope this helps you;)
When I debug and deploy Xamarin.iOS native app to iOS simulator 8.1 through XS(in Mac), it installs app to simulator but it closes automatically after installation. Though app deployment on iOS simulator 10 works fine. This problem is occurred after updating XS to latest version and iOS SDK update to latest version. My iOS app deployment target is 8.0. Also I made sure that Entitlements.plist is empty.
NOTE: Xcode 8 does successful installation on iOS simulator 8.1 and works fine.
Anyone knows why this problem occurs and how to resolve it ?
Clean the project, recompile it and run on simulator.
Additionally, open simulator logs using Cmd + / hotkey and see what exactly is being printed to the simulator logs when you launch your app.
I've seen similar problems which were related to the app crash on launch actually.
I need to test an application on an iOS6 simulator. Since this iOS version is not part of the current Xcode6 environment, I tried to install Xcode 5.1.1 beside my Xcode 6 installation and use it.
I downloaded Xcode 5.1.1 from the Apple developer pages and installed in in my applications folder. After launch I am downloading and installing the iOS 6.1 SDK from within Xcode.
After that I am trying to launch the simulator (NOT with an app, just a clean launch) but when the simulator window is shown it keeps black. The log says:
Could not lookup service com.apple.iphonesimulator.host_support: 1102
repeatingly. Clicking "Reset Content and Settings..." wont work. I also deleted the SDK file from
~/Applications/Xcode 2.app/Contents/Developer/Applications/
and the 6.1 Folder from
~/Users/username/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/
And made a fresh install. Also no effect. I know there are a lot of similar questions here on stack, but they all suggest the "Reset Content and Settings..." which wont work for me. Any idea what might going on?
When launching an iOS7.1 simulator from Xcode 5.1.1 it starts up and works like a charm. The iOS7.1 comes with the Xcode bundle, the iOS6.1 simulator has to be installed manually. Maybe that's the problem?
Thanks!
Ok,
i probably found the answer here: In OS X 10.10 (Yosemite Beta), How do I Test Using iOS 6.1 Simulator?
In short: iOS6 is not supported under OS-X 10.10 and so the simulator won't work.
Xcode 4.3.1 has developed a strange behavior -
It will download my app to the attached device but will not run them.
I can delete the app on the device and then have XCode download the app to the device (the icon appears) but the debugger does not run it.
What gives?
Restarting the macbook fixed the problem.
