I want to implement a hibernate-based approach for developing read-only DB.
I have implemented the following code but when it comes to executing the
protected Object determineCurrentLookupKey() {
event though the request comes from the #Transactional(read-only=true) it always return "read-only=false" , Why transaction does not successfully process this ? Thanks.

I am trying to Implement InitializingBean on my StudentDaoImpl.class and in the function afterPropertiesSet() trying to execute an expression using ExpressionParser, but Spring is saying that property config is not found or is null even if I have declared config in my App.propperties.
AppConfig.class(Configuration Class)
package config;
import dao.StudentDAOImpl;
import org.springframework.context.annotation.Bean;
import org.springframework.context.annotation.ComponentScan;
import org.springframework.context.annotation.Configuration;
import org.springframework.context.annotation.PropertySource;
import org.springframework.context.support.PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer;
import org.springframework.jdbc.core.JdbcTemplate;
import org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource;
import javax.sql.DataSource;
#Configuration
#PropertySource("classpath:App.properties")
public class AppConfig {
#Bean("jdbcTemplete")
public JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate() {
JdbcTemplate template = new JdbcTemplate();
template.setDataSource(dataSource());
return template;
}
#Bean("dataSource")
public DataSource dataSource() {
DriverManagerDataSource ds = new DriverManagerDataSource();
ds.setDriverClassName("com.mysql.cj.jdbc.Driver");
ds.setUrl("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/springjdbc");
ds.setUsername("root");
ds.setPassword("root");
return ds;
}
#Bean("StudentDaoImpl")
public StudentDAOImpl studentDaoImpl() {
StudentDAOImpl studentdao = new StudentDAOImpl(jdbcTemplate());
return studentdao;
}
#Bean("getProperties")
public static PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer getProperties() {
return new PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer();
}
}
StudentDaoImpl.class (I have removed methods of StudentDao Interface from the code below for you to see properly)
package dao;
import entities.Student;
import mapper.StudentMapper;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.InitializingBean;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Value;
import org.springframework.expression.Expression;
import org.springframework.expression.ExpressionParser;
import org.springframework.expression.spel.standard.SpelExpressionParser;
import org.springframework.jdbc.core.JdbcTemplate;
import org.springframework.jdbc.core.RowMapper;
import java.util.List;
public class StudentDAOImpl implements StudentDAO, InitializingBean {
private JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate;
#Value("${config}")
String s;
public StudentDAOImpl(JdbcTemplate jdbcTemplate) {
this.jdbcTemplate = jdbcTemplate;
}
#Override
public void afterPropertiesSet() throws Exception {
ExpressionParser expressionParser = new SpelExpressionParser();
System.out.println(s);
Expression expression = expressionParser.parseExpression("config");
String result = (String)expression.getValue();
System.out.println(result);
// if(result == true) {
// System.out.println("[Configuration]: Java Configuration");
// } else {
// System.out.println("[Configuration]: XML Configuration");
// }
}
}
App.properties
config=java
Also, I have seen that I was able to access the property from App.properties using #Value but not with ExpressionParser, Please help me solve this issue.
?
You are parsing a String, not the field; use
Expression expression = expressionParser.parseExpression(config);
to parse an expression in field config - however the value java is not a valid expression.
It is not at all clear what you are trying to do.
I have one micro-service named order-service in spring boot.
:: Spring Boot :: (v2.0.5.RELEASE)
in that micro-service, in service layer I have 2 service class 1. OrderManagerService and OrderService. From OrderService I call Repository Interface IOrderRequestRepository which extends PagingAndSortingRepository interface. so The call is basically OrderManagerService -> OrderService -> IOrderRequestRepository.
Right now I am using one data source for the micro-service. Now my requirement is I have to use 2 data source because in OrderManagerService there is one method getCustomerVisitsForMonth(Long customerID) which frequently used and we don't want to give load on prod DB server. Instead we will use prod-replica server for this one particular method.
I have googled a lot of blogs and tried to implement but ending up getting different exception.
below are exceptions:
could not execute query; SQL [SELECT * FROM ....(this is the actual query)]; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not execute query",
Could not open JPA EntityManager for transaction; nested exception is org.hibernate.TransactionException: JDBC begin transaction failed:
Below are my sample code:

I have checked manually in both Database for the query I am running. Data is present. But when I am running from postman to test
for replica, I am getting
Method threw 'org.springframework.dao.InvalidDataAccessResourceUsageException' exception. caused by org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not execute query
for main, I am getting
Transaction was marked for rollback only; cannot commit; nested exception is org.hibernate.TransactionException: Transaction was marked for rollback only; cannot commit
When I am using one datasource, the query is working fine.
The issue was with Entity class column name mapping issue, previously we were not mentioning #Column(name="column_name") , once I added the annotation, it started to work. But still I am confused how it is working fine when using single Data source
The yamlObjectMapper in configuration
#Bean
public ObjectMapper yamlObjectMapper() {
ObjectMapper yamlObjectMapper = new ObjectMapper(new YAMLFactory().disable(YAMLGenerator.Feature

yamlObjectMapper.findAndRegisterModules();
return yamlObjectMapper;
}
The Service to parse yaml file
#Service
public class CustomerService {
#Autowired
#Qualifier("yamlObjectMapper")
private ObjectMapper yamlObjectMapper;
public Customer get() {
try {
InputStream inputStream = ResourceUtils.getURL("classpath:/files/test.yaml").openStream();

} catch (IOException ex) {

}
}
#Data

I guess IO operations are blocking, how this can be done using reactive way?
I would rather use configuration binding since probably you need to read it once.

## Spring DATASOURCE (DataSourceAutoConfiguration & DataSourceProperties)
spring.datasource.url = jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/Account?useSSL=false
spring.datasource.username = root
spring.datasource.password = root
## Hibernate Properties
# The SQL dialect makes Hibernate generate better SQL for the chosen database
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.dialect = org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect
#Hibernate ddl auto (create, create-drop, validate, update)
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto = update
I am using spring boot (data jpa ) but am getting the wrong value in the database.
The #Enumerated is behaving as expected. It's going to return the name of the enum and that's what gets persisted. Remember JPA uses the name() of the enum and not the toString() even if you have overridden the toString(). I would recommend using an AttributeConverter (JPA 2.1+) to control the persistence of your enum. In your case, create the converter to use the getText() method you already have defined in your Enum.
#Converter(autoApply = true)
public class AccountRoleConverter implements AttributeConverter<AccountRole, String> {
#Override
public String convertToDatabaseColumn(AccountRole role) {
return role.getText();
}
#Override
public AccountRole convertToEntityAttribute(String dbData) {
return AccountRole.fromText(dbData);
}
}
Note: #Converter(autoApply = true), tells JPA provider to use it to map all AccountRole enums.
Now you just need to make sure you remove the #Enumerated from your Account Entity:
#Enumerated(EnumType.STRING)
#Column(name = "account_role", length = 40)
private AccountRole accountRole;
becomes
#Column(name = "account_role", length = 40)
private AccountRole accountRole;
Ok you may ask how you use the converter. Well that is the nice part, you don't have to do anything. The persistence provider will use it for all read and write operations. I hope this helps.
Hy,
Having these three classes I have found a problem:
package xpadro.spring.jms;
import javax.jms.ConnectionFactory;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;
import org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.SpringBootApplication;
import org.springframework.context.annotation.Bean;
import org.springframework.jms.core.JmsTemplate;
import org.springframework.jms.support.converter.MarshallingMessageConverter;
import org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller;
#SpringBootApplication
public class JmsJavaconfigApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(JmsJavaconfigApplication.class, args);
}
#Bean
public Jaxb2Marshaller jaxb2Marshaller(){
Jaxb2Marshaller jaxb = new Jaxb2Marshaller();
Class array[] = new Class[1];
array[0]= xpadro.spring.jms.model.Order.class;
jaxb.setClassesToBeBound(array);
return jaxb;
}
#Bean
#Autowired
public MarshallingMessageConverter marshallingMessageConverter( Jaxb2Marshaller marshaller){
MarshallingMessageConverter mc = new MarshallingMessageConverter();
mc.setMarshaller(marshaller);
mc.setUnmarshaller(marshaller);
return mc;
}
#Bean
#Autowired
public JmsTemplate init(MarshallingMessageConverter messageConverter,ConnectionFactory connectionFactory){
JmsTemplate template = new JmsTemplate();
template.setMessageConverter(messageConverter);
template.setConnectionFactory(connectionFactory);
return template;
}
}
Next, the model:
package xpadro.spring.jms.model;
import java.io.Serializable;
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlAccessType;
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlAccessorType;
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlElement;
import javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRootElement;
#XmlRootElement(name = "order")
#XmlAccessorType(XmlAccessType.FIELD)
public class Order implements Serializable {
private static final long serialVersionUID = -797586847427389162L;
#XmlElement(required = true)
private String id="";
public Order() {
}
public Order(String id) {
this.id = id;
}
public String getId() {
return id;
}
}
Next, the listener:
package xpadro.spring.jms.listener;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;
import org.springframework.jms.annotation.JmsListener;
import org.springframework.stereotype.Component;
import xpadro.spring.jms.model.Order;
import xpadro.spring.jms.service.StoreService;
#Component
public class SimpleListener {
private final StoreService storeService;
#Autowired
public SimpleListener(StoreService storeService) {
this.storeService = storeService;
}
#JmsListener(destination = "simple.queue")
public void receiveOrder(Order order) {
storeService.registerOrder(order);
}
}
The class that sends messages:
package xpadro.spring.jms.service;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;
import org.springframework.jms.core.JmsTemplate;
import org.springframework.stereotype.Service;
import xpadro.spring.jms.model.Order;
#Service
public class ClientServiceImpl implements ClientService {
private static final String SIMPLE_QUEUE = "simple.queue";
private static final String IN_QUEUE = "in.queue";
private final JmsTemplate jmsTemplate;
#Autowired
public ClientServiceImpl(JmsTemplate jmsTemplate) {
this.jmsTemplate = jmsTemplate;
}
#Override
public void addOrder(Order order) {
//MessageRegistered with a bean
jmsTemplate.convertAndSend(SIMPLE_QUEUE, order);
}
#Override
public void registerOrder(Order order) {
//MessageRegistered with a bean
jmsTemplate.convertAndSend(IN_QUEUE, order);
}
}
The point is that listener(method receiveOrder()) is not executed when I set a custom message converter in the class JmsJavaconfigApplication. When I dont set it, spring boot sets a SimpleMessageConverter and the listener is executed.
Any wrong or missed configuration?
Thanks
You need to provide an marshalling converter to the #JmsListener to unmarshall the message, by configuring the listener container factory see the documentation.
