How do I add a EULA to a VS2008 setup project? - visual-studio

This is a very simple question with a simple answer, but it is not quite so simple to find the answer on the internet.
I have a simple Setup (deployment) project in Visual Studio 2008, and I have the EULA text. What do I need to do in the project to get the EULA into the install wizard?

This is how you performed the actions in vs2003 an vs2005, I don't believe they've made changes but I'm not running vs2008 yet so I can't be certain.
right click the installation project, select View->User Interface.
In the "Start" section, right click, and select Add Dialog. Choose the license dialog.
point the license dialog to an RTF file.

"Add Existing Item" feature disabled - how to enable / why does it happen?

I didn't use MSVS since v2008 (but I never was good at it). The version I'm talking about is 2012. I work mostly in Emacs, but for the team I must create MSVS projects and maintain them in a workable state. Now once I create a file, MSVS would not let me add it to the solution (click on "Project" in "Solution Explorer" -> context menu -> select "Add" -> "Add Existing Item" is grayed out.)
This used to work two days ago. Since then I've installed a plugin through NuGet that allows adding custom mime-types to IIS used in MSVS for ASP.NET projects. That was all the changes I've made.
How do I troubleshoot this? Why can this possibly happen? What could possibly be the reason for disabling this functionality?
EDIT
Sorry, it looks like it isn't possible to do it while "debugging" the project - somehow I must have fatfingered a debug session w/o noticing it. When I restarted the Studio, it prompted me about the open debugging session. After restarting the Studio the functionality was back. Still, it's strange you can't add files during debugging... or maybe I'm missing something.
I had the same problem today. The solution is to leave the debug mode in visual studio. Then the before grayed out menu point "Add New Item" project is available.
btw: you leave the debug mode in visual studio (2013) with Shift+F5 or click the red square in the gui.
Add Existing option is disable when you are in debug mode please stop debugging then try to add existing item.

Visually Editting AXML file in VS2010

My VS2010 won't allow me to visually edit AXML files. I want to configure the "Open With..." feature in VS to run the visual editor.
The "Open With" feature is available by right-clicking a file in the solution.
Another one of my VS installations has this feature so I know it's possible. There must be something in the Xamarin install that this feature doesn't get setup some times.
Does anyone know how to set this up manually via the "Open With..." selection dialog?
Right now, I switch back and forth between Mono Develop and VS...what a pain...
This should not be the case you should just be able to select the file from the Resources/Layout folder and have the option of either the Source/Design view. If you are unable to do this just use the Xamarin Studio as you have been doing but it might also be a idea to use the DroidDraw website www.droiddraw.org/ in order to have a GUI to design your interfaces.
Hope this helps,
James

Visual Studio 2010 addin /Projects with GUI

I'm trying to figure out how to do a VS2010 add in with gui, (like a simple popup with a few fields and an enter button)
I found stuff on stack that says Visual Studio (2010?) projects is what I need (instead of an addin) but all the tutorials I can find are for VS2008, and dont' apply to vs2010.
Is the answer outdated? what do I use?
Can anyone tell me what technology I need to use?
We have some powershell scripts that take parameters and generate code for us, I want to click on a menu item under tools (or a tool bar button) popup and ask for the parameter values, click ok, and then run the powershell. (someone else wrote the powershell, i just want to creat a built in gui for them)
As a bonus I'd like to add resultant files to the projects, but that's down the line.
Any hint or tutorials you can point me towards would be a great boon.

adding dialog - Visual c++ Express 2010

I'm used to using Visual Studio 6.0 to develop c++ APIs. I've downloaded and installed Visual c++ 2010 Express and now I find myself in a foreign land!
The first thing I did was make a hello blank windows app. That worked ok.
Next I thought I'd try looking at the "about" dialog but darned if I can find it. I also tried to create a new dialog but have no idea how to go about doing so.
So my questions are....
How do I look at the "about" dialog?
How do I add a new dialog?
I see there is a "add resource" if I right click the project directory but is grayed out.
Feeling like an idiot but thankful for any help....
From what I can determine, there is no resource editor in the c++ express product.

What is the difference between the "Checkboxes (A)" and "Checkboxes (B)" dialogs in a Visual Studio setup project?

In a Visual Studio Setup & Deployment Project, I can design the user interface for the installer. I have a welcome screen, a license acceptance dialog, and then an installation location dialog. All good.
I want to include one more dialog, to confirm changing of file associations. I think the way to do this is with a dialog that has a Checkbox.
I can right click the UI node, and select "Add Dialog" and I get this choice:
What is the difference between any of these checkboxes dialogs?
I tried to RTFM but couldn't find the doc on these options.
D'oh! I answered my own question.
