I am trying to do something which I would've thought was very simple, but it's causing me a huge headache. I am using Grails ui plugin to get a dialog box. I have a number of instances - some where dialog boxes need to appear when a button is clicked. This I have got working. But I also need to have some that appear when the page is loaded... for information / warning purposes. But I'm struggling with this.. What should I put as the trigger? I don't want the user to have to click anything before the dialog appears.
Also - has anyone successfully managed to change the style of the gui:dialog ? Mine was originally appearing as text with an invisible background before I added the class=yui-skin-sam to the main.gsp body, but that's had to replace the existing style class I already had on the body! how frustrating !!
Had the exact same problem... got it working by adding "visible=show" to the dialog's attributes. Example:
<gui:dialog title="Modal Dialog" modal="true" visible="show">
This message will appear in a modal dialog when the page loads.
</gui:dialog>

I have kind of unusual issue with one of my subgrids in CRM.
On the Main form for an entity i have several subgrids, each of them for records from different entity.
When creating new record from subgrid, all of the forms are opened as expected, except one. It opens two quick create forms.
Forms are not opened normally, one following another. First one looks fine, except there is display name displayed twice. Another form doesn't display any field, just the close button. You can see the issue in the attached images.
I have checked Command for "New" Subgrid button in Ribbon Workbench, and there is nothing more than standard command. I have also tried to do this in several browsers, but the issue continued to appear. I have checked JavaScript functions and none of them is connected with this form.
Now I have lack of ideas what could cause this issue.
I need help for this if anyone had similar issue.
I have created two CKEditor plugins. Each of them uses an "Iframe Dialog Field", meaning that a dialog box is launched and the contents of that dialog box is a webpage (you can think of the entire dialog box as being like one big iframe).
Each plugin works perfectly on its own. However if I use both plugins in the same CKEditor app, they both end up displaying the same page, rather than two different pages, despite the fact that they point to two different pages. I see no reason why this should be happening. Does anyone know how to prevent this?
To make sure there is no confusion, an "IFrame Dialog Field" is a dialog box whose contents are another webpage.
Documenentation - http://ckeditor.com/addon/iframedialog
[ This is different from using an "IFrame dialog", which I believe is a plugin that lets the user add an iframe to the page.
Documentation - IFrame Dialog: http://ckeditor.com/addon/iframe ]
In terms of usage, when using an IFrame Dialog Field, you specify the url of the page to load in the addIframe() command. Here is an example of using a CKEditor Iframe dialog
https://gist.github.com/garryyao/1170303
Back to my issue - if I use just one of the plugins in my CKEditor, it works perfectly. Each plugin points at a different url, and opens that url as the contents of the dialog box. But, if I use both plugins in my CKEditor, although I see a different icon for each, both end up launching a dialog box which points to the same url. Depending which one I launch first, that is the url both end up opening. It is as if you are only allowed to use one IFrame Dialog Field in CKEditor, and the first one used overwrites all others.
This same question was asked a couple of years ago, with no response on the CKEditor forum. The person who asked the question posted his solution, or rather his workaround, which was to NOT use the IFrame Dialog Field altogether, but to instead use a regular dialog and then put an iframe element within it.
http://ckeditor.com/forums/CKEditor-3.x/multiple-iframedialog-plugins-display-same-dialog
That seems like an OK workaround, but it is a workaround and not a solution. I haven't tried it yet, and don't know what potential issues I will run into if I go down that route. I'd prefer to fix my existing code rather than rewrite the plugins, unless I have no choice.
Any help would be appreciated.
Since I have not found any further information, or received any answers here, I ended up going with the workaround mentioned at the end of my question - I used a regular dialogue box and put a big Iframe within it. This problem doesn't exist with that approach, and It looks pretty much the same as an Iframe dialog box. (Considering the almost total lack of community support with CKEditor customization, I've realized it is better to just adjust your design/concept to do what is more easily accomplished with CKEditor, rather than get CKeditor to do exactly what you want).
When I insert text into ckeditor its showing good and added into database but in edit form it showing all text into one line with scroll.
Note : I notice that this issue is only with Firefox browser
in add form it showing like this
in edit form it showing like this
Working now, I don’t know what was the issue may be some css applied on the editor. so I just download the new ckeditor and applied in my app and its working absolutely fine :)
I have a problem with a component that loads in to a modal window. I am using the Alpha User Points system and it has a component that gives you a full list of yous site's users. It also gives you the ability to order by username, by points etc. If I use it outside of modal window it works fine. If I use it in to modal window, ordering don't work!!! When I put my mouse over table's headers, outside of modal window gives this...javascript:tableOrdering('aup.referreid','asc','');In to modal window I see this...javascript:tableOrdering('aup.referreid','asc','');?ml=1 Using Firebug, I remove this ?ml=1 and it works into modal also!!! So the question is, why in to modal window gives this ?ml=1, what is this? And how will I remove it?
Well here is the answer... I use the Modalizer extension of nonumber.nl. I was loading my component through modalizer's modal box, this is why I had this issue. So, if anyone use Modalizer to popup components and have the same problem with me, just go to modalizer's Plugin Manager, find the option Convert Links inside Window and disable it!!! But, after this, if you want to add link in to modal window and you don't want to show-up the whole front page but only the component or what ever this is, you have to add at the end of the link this &ml=1.
As the title says, I would like to call the reports from forms without actually displaying the form. I am very new to Oracle forms. I tried to do the following but it didn't work:
1)Inserted the code to call the reports in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger.
2)Removed the canvas so that the form won't be displayed.
But I got the error
RM-30173: Module contains no canvases
Is it possible to do this?. I am trying to display the report when a menu item in an oracle forms application is clicked which in turn would call the above form but directly displaying
the report instead of displaying an UI.
Update:
I am using Forms Builder 10.1.2.
As for why I don't want to do this directly in the menu(MMB), the menu doesn't have an option to attach a report and I've already got a working form that generates an report but the code to call the report is written in a button-pressed trigger.
In,
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1107427&tstart=45, I am trying to do what Andreas Weiden, suggested in that thread.
I think your problem may be in limiting your menu options to only opening forms.
For example, you could instead have the menu in your form execute a form trigger which would call the report. Or a web.show_document to the url for the Report.
What version of Forms are you on? It's been a while since I did much with Forms, but this may give you a start.
I am only familiar with Reports 6i, and it was simple to just run the report from the menu.
We created a menu item that was PL/SQL Command Type, dropped the code to run the report module in the Menu Item Code box, and all was good. I'd be surprised if you couldn't do something similar in 10g reports.
Move the code from the form's button into a procedure in a common library. Attach the library to the form and to the menu module. Call the procedure from both the form button as well as the menu.
I solved the problem by creating a blank canvas in the 'dummy form' as 'FRM-30173: Module contains no canvases' was returned when no canvas was found in the form.
The approach suggested by Andreas Weiden here: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1107427&tstart=45 works well.
You could have also just created the report and just call it behind the menu option but hiding the report parameter form and the report would automatically begin to generate. In the menu option just before you call the report name just set the report paramform to hide and destype to screen. This would have save the trouble of creating a blank canvas and maybe having to suppress error messages if any was thrown.
