I am trying to design some simple GUIs with Glade to use with Ruby. I am not having so much luck finding tutorials/references on how to actually interface glade with Ruby however. I have found maybe 1 or 2 hello world tutorials that show how to use a button to change a title of a window but is there a reference that tells me what each of the signals/handlers do and how to use functionality such as comboboxes, listboxes, tree structures etc..?
If you guys had any information to give me to help learn Glade with Ruby I would be most thankful!

Take a look at RSQLiteGUI. It's a small Glade app, so you get an overview really quick. Still it's bigger than HelloWorld and it should show you most concepts.

I was recently thinking of learning a programming language that can interact with Windows Program?Is there any such thing that can do things like open Chrome,navigate to a webpage,Click some buttons,input something?
P.S -> Please don't suggest Imacros :)
I saw one program like that and wonder what programming language it is written in and can interact with programs?
Thanks.
It sounds like you're looking for an AppleScript equivalent for Windows.
Check out AutoIt
The functionality you want is also available via COM.
Most programs that interact with the GUI of other running applications use the Automation/Accessibility APIs built into windows. Take a look at linked overview page for details.
To answer the language part, anything that can call into those APIs will work (C++ and C# being fairly common for this purpose).

I have searched the web and the Swift documentation,
but so far have not found a way to execute a ruby script.
Is there a way to do this? I am assuming the script
exists as a file on the system.
Using system worked for me. The following calculates 5 factorial in Ruby under Swift:
import Cocoa
let value = 5
system("ruby -e \"p (1..\(value)).inject{|a,b| a*b}\"")
This use to be possible in Objective-C through MacRuby, but It didn't offer much benefit over the other options unless you need to interact very heavily between the two environments. MacRuby is more for interacting with the Objective-C world from Ruby than vice-versa, but it does allow you to freely mix the two languages in your project.
Sadly, MacRuby has effectively been dead in the water for a couple of years now. It had a lot of promise, but it didn't have the necessary internal support at Apple for it to succeed.

Due to the various issues with getting hsSDL to work on Windows, I'm looking for another library that can handle keyboard input and drawing images to the screen. Does anyone know of any?
I've successfully used gloss on Windows in the past without issues. It's also very simple (which I like) and is my go-to recommendation for people who want to use Haskell for simple graphics/ basic games.
Edit: It looks like gloss is having issues building on the Hackage server and as a result isn't displaying documentation. Here is the documentation for version 1.8.1.2, which should be about the same.

I'm writing an objective C program which will need to be applescriptable. so, I need to create and edit an SDF file. I'd MUCH rather not have to write XML if I don't have to, so I'm hoping that someone can point me to a good editor... I've found SDEF EDitor but I'd like a couple of options to play around with...
Surprisingly, the applescript editor itself doesn't allow you to edit SDEF files... hrm...
thanks
SDEF Editor is pretty much the only game in town, as far as I know.

I'm planning to perhaps purchase an android phone, and would love to be able to script some simple apps in Ruby on it. I found this article from back in August where the author was able to get the scripts working, but since I'm not a Java head, I had a hard time understanding all the steps.

Do you know of any other tutorials or how to's out there that explain the process in more detail? Do you know if performance has improved since August?
There is a nice implementation of an Android app (irb in fact) based on JRuby in headius's repository on github. He has some details within the readme on how to use it and the source gives a good example of how to implement anything further.
There is a simpler app (think to "Hello world") but shifting to Mirah (formerly Duby) as opposed to JRuby. I know it's not exactly the same, but you get much the same coding experience but significantly more performance.
