MSMQ installation error on 2008 Server - installation

This Windows 2008 SP2
The Error:
Message Queuing: Installation failed
Error: Attempt to install Message Queuing Server failed with error code 0x80070643. Fatal error during installation
The following features were not installed:
Message Queuing Services
Message Queuing Server
Found a msdn blog with the following resolution:
Resolution
To resolve this issue follow the steps listed below:
Go to Control panel and click User Accounts
Select User Accounts and click Turn User Account Control on/ Off
Un-check the check box beside User Account Control
Close the User Account Window, reboot the computer and try to install Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) again
Note: Be sure to turn User Account Controll back on when the issue is resolved
After doing that and rebooting I still getting the same error when trying to installing MSMQ.

Maybe try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility? http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

create a key called MSMQ in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft and then go and delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSMQ. Worked for me on Windows 10 preview and then I was able to install MSMQ.

Oracle 12 C Installation Error

I've downloaded oracle 12c on my personal laptop. Check system compatibility (alls good). However, towards the end Im getting an error stating "Oracle Services for microsoft transaction server" denied".
Please assist,
Googling the error message leads to this as the first result:
http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_ins_20802_oracle_services_for_microsoft_transaction_server_failed.htm
Which basically says to ignore the message and run the Database Configuration Assistant manually to finish configuring the database.
When an installation fails, you should check the installation log for more details.
In my case, the log file said "hostname too long", so I shortened the host name and was able to do a successful install.
I faced the same issue recently and it was regarding [INS-20802] Oracle Database Configuration Assistant failed error. I think the solution for it will of help in your issue too.
I tried several of the following methods for resolving the issue :-
Disabling Windows UAC
Disabling firewall
Disabling antivirus - mine was a fresh VM, so disabled Windows Defender
Adding localhost IP i.e., 127.0.0.1 to the hosts file etc.
but none of them helped.
At last I found this, which suggested installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and this solved the problem in a matter of seconds! I just had to click 'Retry' on the installation dialog.
Do you have local "Admininstrator" rights on the account that your are installing Oracle into?
The Oracle Universal Installer is trying to create the MTS service and access is being denied. This is why I usually don't take the default install, and use the "custom" install and select the components I want. OUI will then work out the dependencies and install the correct components.
With this type of failure, you should have had an option to "ignore/skip" the error and the installer should continue and install the database objects - you shouldn't need to re-install the database objects as the the MTS service component should install after the data objects are created and they are not reliant on each other. Unfortunately the installer status will still show "failed" because of that one component failing.

Barracuda installation not possible on win10

I am unable to install Barracuda Netwrok Access client on any win 10 PC.
Installation wizzard fails on the last screen few seconds after "Install" button was clicked on.
Installation wizzard was run as Administrator. I also tried to change the setup.exe compatibility properties with no effect.
In Windows Event Viewer I have found: "Installation was finished with success or error: 1603". Error 1603 means one of the following:
Folder I want Barracuda install into is encryped (It is not)
I want to install it onto a substitude drive (No)
I do not have full controll permission on the installation folder (No. I also tried to change the folder location - with no effect)
My config:
System: Win10 Pro
Application: Barracuda 3.6
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
I had the same issue with version 5. In my case, there were a couple of services blocking the installation such as:
MongoDB Server
ESET Remote Administrator Agent
but the installer was only saying "The wizard was interrupted... "
To discover which services are blocking your specific situation, follow this procedure:
Run the installer (in my case NetworkAccessClient_5.0.1-12_x64.exe)
Open C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Local\Temp and sort folders by creation date. The last one should be the one containing the BarracudaNAC.msi file. In my case was C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Local\Temp{1FD950A7-EDFE-40D2-8534-1C7960D8B012}
Copy the BarracudaNAC.msi file somewhere in your filesystem.(i.e. c:\Downloads)
Interrupt the installation you started at step 1
Run the installation again using the BarracudaNAC.msi instead of the original NetworkAccessClient executable.
One of the steps is the services check. Just terminate the services that are blocking your installation or select the "Do not close applications. (A reboot will be required)" option:

Hope it helps.

Solved. There must be MS Outlook turned off while trying to instal Barracuda. The problem was caused by MS Lync integration.
Three more apps that need to be closed: Google Chat (browser-based app), Windows Terminal Preview (NB! not cmd or ps), Slack. This list was displayed after "Validating install" message had been up for ~10 minutes. Then again 5 minutes "Validating install" and MS Teams Chat had to be closed (NB! also need to quit it from system tray). Alltogether about 40 min install...

Installation Error 1935

While installing my msi i get the follwing error
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT: 0x800736B3. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.42",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"
I do carry Microsoft_VC80_CRT_x86.msm in my MSI. But the problem is that i do not see this issue in all machines. This is faced only on a 2012 Windows Virtual machine.
Can anyone please tell me why this error would normally come?
I think you have a corrupted windows O/S. Otherwise it is correct to test on VM's configured with a variety of virgin operating systems that you want to support. Additionally I highly advise to never use this merge module. Instead using a bootstrapper/chainer (WiX Burn, InstallShield Setup Prereqs or Suite Installation ) to install the stand alone versions of the redist from Microsoft. This helps draw a line in the sand between a Microsoft problem and a problem with your installer. It also makes upgrade servicing easier.
I got the same error message on windows 7 (32bit).
This was caused by a failure in windows update for my case.
After that, I cannot install any other program on the computer. I searched from internet and found suggestions made by Microsoft engineers: repair the system from Original Installation disc with "update to latest" choice unchecked.
However, I found another simple solution which also works for my case.
1. Click START>> and type “regedit” to run register editor;
2. Find the following directory in register: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control;
3. search by F3 for the key RegistrySizeLimit and double click the DWORD;
4. Change the key value into ffffffff(Hex) or decimal 4294967295, then click OK;
5. restart the computer;
6. run cmd.exe with Administrator's privilege, and type SFC /SCANNOW followed by Enter in command line; this scanning may take several minutes until the status is 100% and finishes;
Then the problem can be fixed!!
I got this error in my Win7x64 VM after I installed .NET Framework 4.5 required by my MSI. I had a fresh OS install with no Windows updates, plus VS2005 SP1. I ran this Microsoft FixIt: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982/en-us, but it did not help until I restarted the VM. Once I restarted the VM, the error disappeared. I think all I needed was a restart, but I provide the above details in case it was the FixIt that actually fixed it.
On a windows 2016 server, I solved the problem by resetting DCOM security to default
launch dcomcnfg
then set Default Authentication Level to Connect
and Default Impersonation Level to Identify

"We couldn't get your developer license for Windows 8", error 0xC03F1014

Whenever I try to get my developer's license in Windows 8 Professional with WMC for Visual Studio Ultimate with Blend, I get this error:
We couldn't get your developer license for Windows 8. (Error 0xC03F1014)
How do I fix this error to get my developer's license?
If your copy of Windows 8 is cracked or activated illegitimately then you'll get this error.
If for whatever reason you don't want to / can't get a legitimate copy, then deactivating the crack to go back to the trial period, acquiring the license then re-activating it should fix this issue.
Try to follow these steps:
Create a temporary user account in windows 8
Install a fresh copy of VS 2012
Now try again. It should work now, then log out again and go back to your normal account. Now develop apps and deploy it. Hopefully it works for you.
You need not re-install the OS or the Visual Studio
Start the Task Scheduler service. This is usually disabled in enterprises/large organizations via Group Policy.
This situation happened to me after installing Windows 8 Pro Upgrade as a CLEAN installation. The problem was that the valid License Key failed to activate because a previous version of windows was not upgraded. Because it wasn't activated properly, the Developer License would also not register.
The following steps enabled me to activate the clean install:
Run the registry editor (regedit)
Find the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OOBE
Change the value for 'MediaBootInstall' from 1 to 0
Open an elevated command prompt (run as admin)
Run the following command: slmgr -rearm
Reboot
Open an elevated command prompt (run as admin)
Run the following command: slui 3
Activate your valid Window 8 Pro Upgrade License Key
After my Windows 8 was properly activated, the Developer License renewed with no problems!
I was facing same issue. Error was due to Proxy Server. I was using internet by setting proxy server. U should have open internet to get the developer license.
See these type off error occurred to me . The scenario was I was connected to a proxy server and my proxy server was not allowing popup logins .
Check your internet connection and If the problem is not solved, reinstall VS
Run Visual Studio 2012 as administrator. It should prompt you automatically for the license. I had to login to my MSDN account at this time. If it doesn't come up, then go to Project -> Store -> Acquire Developmer License. This is what did it for me.
I had the same issue, with the additional information that there was a problem with the network (even though my network was fine).
For me, the problem was that my own user is a limited/normal user and doesn't have administrator rights. I did get a UAC prompt when I tried to get a license and I elevated the process to use my separate administrator account, but it didn't work.
What did work however was logging out from my normal user, signing in as my administrator account and try to get a developer license that way.
So apparently running under a non-privileged user is not something that VS2013 appreciates in scenarios like this. I'm not sure why there is a difference between elevating a process' rights through UAC and actually logging in as an elevated user.
Make sure you have all Windows Updates installed. If you can't update:
Install KB2913270 (x86/x64) (original info by Ahmad Wahid, thanks :))
Other tips:
Check the system date and time (it must not be ahead on their systems)
Try to disable NlaSvc service (Network Location Awareness)

The Windows Process Activation Service failed to generate an application pool config file

I suddenly cannot start IIS anymore on my Windows 2008 R2 server. The depending "Windows Actication Service" does not start.
In the Event Viewer I can see the following message:
"The Windows Process Activation Service failed to generate an application pool config file"
I've checked all IIS config files for typo's, none can be found.
I've tried to remove the IIS role from the server, which results in an error.
I'm totally desperate here. I've looked on Google for several hours, but none of the suggestions I've found helped.
Something has messed up permissions and the user account under which WAS runs does not have permission to create its working files. Probably you installed a service pack or similar.
Rebuild the box and apply all service packs to Windows before you install WAS, and then let it update itself and then install your own stuff.
Rebuilding boxes is no fun and takes far too long. Learn to use virtualisation and undo disks.
If you have another working server, you can import IIS configuration from there via Shared Configuration. I was able to resolve this error by doing so.
