Can I use ListBox control in MS CRM? I want to scroll the list item inside list. But in picklist It seems not possible. So I just want to add the Listbox control in dynamics CRM page. So can I?
Yes, you can add document elements into the HTML using JavaScript. The rendered page in CRM is just HTML (with JavaScript, CSS, of course) so you can use the DOM to manipulate it in places like the onLoad event of the form.
To add an html element into a page, you would need to find the location of an existing page element then use document.createElement() to add a SELECT object into the DOM.
This blog post should get you started on adding and removing items from the list box:
http://timstall.dotnetdevelopersjournal.com/adding_and_removing_items_from_an_html_listbox.htm
Essentially, you're using JavaScript to create an element, then add items to that. Something like this:
var selector = document.createElement('select');
selector.id = 'selTest1';
selector.name = 'selTest1';
cell.appendChild(selector);
var option = document.createElement('option');
option.value = '0';
option.appendChild(document.createTextNode('Test Item 1'));
selector.appendChild(option);
option = document.createElement('option');
option.value = '1';
option.appendChild(document.createTextNode('Test Item 2'));
selector.appendChild(option);
You would then need to manually save the option selected by the user in the onSave, and load that value in the onLoad for a record update.
Overall, it sounds like quite a complex solution for your problem. Perhaps you could explain more about what you say:
"I want to scroll the list item insid list. But in picklist It seems not possible."
There may well be a solution to this problem we can help with. Do you essentially want to scroll the picklist to a value in the onLoad?
HTH.
you can implement the functionality through a simple script in the form onload event
Here is an example

It's written in spanish but js is international ;)
Hope it be helpful, Regards

Is there a way to change the default list page when you click on a entity form to a custom search page? Something like google ( a text box with a search button) to return the results of the list base on the search criteria?
for example,
from this:
to a search page.
Sorry you can't. This page is not customizable. But the dashboards are. You can make a custom dashbard with a single iframe and it can be your default page.
Yes you cannot modify the design of this list page. Dashboard & custom html webresource/iframe is fine.
But I recommend you to customize this list page itself to look like what you want, atleast close to similar CRM UX. First deactivate all the views for that particular entity except Active & Quick find. Rename the system view “Active Details” into “Search” & modify the filter condition to include something like createdon = tomorrow. Hence the grid will be empty, you got search box on right to start with. When user search, Quick find view resultset will be rendered in grid.
I want to get sorted list items from bind object using kendo ui sortable listview. please refer the sample code from below.
http://dojo.telerik.com/#lilan123/eWofa/2
One way would be to use the Kendo event that is fired on the move or change of the sortable list to set the new index value of the item in the ng-repeat that was moved.
You set the event in the "k-on-change".
<ol id="sortable" kendo-sortable k-options="sortableOptions" k-on-change="change(kendoEvent)">
Then you add the event to the scope.
$scope.change = function(e) {
console.log(e);
alert("The e object has stuff like the old index:" + e.oldIndex);
//Get the correct item from the bound list based on index and change the index values in the list to match.
}
It seems like a hack, but then again, it always felt like a hack when using Telerik controls.
Here is a good blog post on using the events with angular, and what they claim are best practices. Hope it helps!
In KendoUI, how do I select a treeview element if it does not have an ID? Like by the style class or something.
I am writing an MVVM application and there are 2 tabs in a kendo tab strip with each containing a treeview. On selecting one tab, I want it's checkboxes to be updated based on what checkboxes were checked in the other tab and then I want to also call updateIndeterminate() on the treeview it contains within it.
Now, since I am using MVVM, I don't want to access the treeview by it's id. All I can find online on searching is $("#treeView") and in the Telerik forums, the example to call updateIndeterminate() is also this -
var treeview = $("#treeview").data("kendoTreeView");
treeview.updateIndeterminate();
Am I missing something here? I wonder why it's so hard to find.
I suppose the reason why it's hard to find is that it goes against the idea of declarative initialization and the separation of view and model. Your code is not supposed to interact with the widget itself. Instead, all your logic should be wired up in your view model which is bound to the UI.
You can certainly find it without an id, e.g. with something like this:
var treeView = $("ul[data-role=treeview]").first().getKendoTreeView();
or by using the .k-treeview class, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you really need to access it in code, you should give it an id.
In Powerbuilder, Does anyone here know how am i going to highlights multiple items on a treeview? Selecteditem function is not doing that. Im looking for a behavior just what Selectedrow id doing.
Thanks!
I've not tried this myself but there is an example on CodeXchange (look for Multi-select TreeView Control).
I think the treeview style datawindow might be easier to do this with.
If not, I found this on the newsgroup, don't know if it helps:
The following script in the
selectionchanged event will implement
a very basic multiselect in the
treeview:
treeviewitem ltvi_item
if KeyDown(KeyControl!) then
This.GetItem(oldhandle, ltvi_Item)
ltvi_Item.Selected = True
This.SetItem(oldhandle, ltvi_Item)
end if
A problem is deselecting the
previously selected items. You would
have to scan through ALL items do look
for the selected ones (once the user
clicks an item without holding down
the control key)
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/powersoft.public.powerbuilder.objects/B2ulHBrSnrs/itwhNBjlyOoJ
One approach to this is to use the CheckBoxes attribute on the treeview, then check the treeviewitem's StatePicture (Unchecked = 1, Checked = 2).
Good luck,
Terry.
I have a grid control displaying data about a Company. I want one column to be "Employee". On click on the any cell of "Employee" column I want to pop up the one Form called "Employee Details" and would like to feel the data.
How can I do this?
As I understand the modal form on click of a jqgrid cell deals with data only related to that row. I want to show different data on the pop up form, i.e. other than the grid data.
Pl help.

Probably you can use unobtrusive links in the column (see this and this answers). The advantage of this technique is that instead of typical links you can define any custom action on click on the link. The look of the link can be defined by CSS, but it seems to the that the link can show the user better as other HTML elements, that the user can click on it.
Alternative you can use a button in the column with respect of the custom formatter, but with the same technique as described before you can free define which action will be done on the click.
Inside of the click event with the parameter 'e' you have e.currentTarget as the DOM element of <a> for the link or <input> or <button> if you use buttons in the grid column. To find the row id you can use var row = $(e.currentTarget).closest("tr.jqgrow") or var row = $(e.target).closest("tr.jqgrow") to find the <tr> element. The row id will be row[0].id.
