Error accessing tomcat web server from my mac - macos

support guys in the office can't help and everything has been fine for the last couple months until today. Running OSX 10.6.3 and 1 of only 2 users on mac. Can access a staging server when remoting in to a pc near my desk but not able to access via any of the browsers on my mac (Chrome, Firefox or Safari). An example staging server would be http://mesoderm:8080/...
Error is simply: Oops! Google Chrome could not find mesoderm:8080.
I can connect to the internet and remote in to a nearby pc as mentioned above.
Strange why it would all of a sudden do this and it's incredibly annoying! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Ryan

Investigate your firewall rules. This is most often the cause of this kind of problems.

Can't access project hosted on ip address from other devices on same wi-fi

I am a frontend developer and I have set up my projects to run on 192.XXX.X.X instead of localhost so I can access it from my phone.
Recently, this stopped working. On all projects.
Ones using webpack and ones using simple VSCode live-server.
Unfortunately I have issues troubleshooting because in the meantime I have installed a lot of things, so I am not sure what could be the culprit.
Most recent things I have done:
Installed parallels
Upgraded to Big Sur
Realized that company provided VPN doesn't work on it
Reverted back with TimeMachine to Catalina
Any suggestions are welcome.

Centos7 firefox(52.2.0 (64-bit)) Browserpush Optin message not coming

I have freshly installed Centos7 Os on my machine and it has been observed that Optin message(Allow / Disallow) of browserpush came for the https site stops working.
I have checked this with multiple websites but none of them is working which is working on chrome browser.
Anyone having any idea how to rectify this?
You are probably using an Extended Support Release of Firefox and web push is currently disabled on that versions.

Testing GKSession between an ipad and simulator (iOS 6)

I am trying to start a GKSession between a simulator and ipad. But i think they are not even connecting because i try to list the clients and servers respectively. Nothing is displayed on both the device and the simulator. I was trying this Ray Wenderlich's tutorial http://www.raywenderlich.com/12735/how-to-make-a-simple-playing-card-game-with-multiplayer-and-bluetooth-part-1 and even the 2nd part of the tutorial. Well I tried downloading their project and tried running it. It does not list the clients and severs so i am assuming that it is not connecting at all.
And i was thinking maybe its because i am using it on iOS6.0.1? Do you reckon its the version issue?
I am not posting any code here because i was just trying to follow the tutorial above. And ofcourse there are no other error.. they are running perfectly fine, its just that the clients and server is not listed.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
I need to answer this, it was because i was trying to run this code in my organization's network environment (the network has restrictions). so when i tried at the home network it did work perfectly fine.

RDP from MAC OS X to Windows Server 2008 R2 License Error

ERROR
"You were disconnected from the Windows-based computer because of problems during the licensing protocol"
I have scoured the Internet and have read it can be fixed...but no one has given me a working fix. I have tried many fixes but still no luck =(.
Anyone know a FUNCTIONING fix for 10.7 and or 10.8
I am using http://www.microsoft.com/mac/remote-desktop-client (the latest version) to connect to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. Running RDS with a 5 User CAL. No Active Directory just basic accounts as the local IT team hasn't a clue how to use AD and I am a thousand miles away.
Did you try Thinomenon RDC for Mac? It properly supports redirect token, which could be the problem.
I found these 2 links which seems to have fixed the issue (Hope it's not the same you tried !!!), esp follow vezard & Martijn Huizer's response:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/8e28b0af-b374-4ca0-a255-5fd854bdc7fa
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2477133
Hope it solves your issue !
Microsoft has released a new RDP client in the app store. So far It seems to work.
I try to be careful where I download from, and I found this Remote Desktop client option on sourceforge.net - a download site I am familiar with and trust:
http://cord.sourceforge.net
From their site:
CoRD is a Mac OS X remote desktop client for Microsoft Windows computers using the RDP protocol. It's easy to use, fast, and free for anyone to use or modify.
I am using Max OS X 10.7

Debugging on Windows Phone 7 emulator causes internet connectivity to be lost

I am currently trying to develop a Windows Phone 7 app and corresponding REST Web API project. I have been encountering problems with the emulator talking to the API. After testing with JQuery and Fiddler I came to find that the emulator is losing internet connectivity with my system.
I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and can recommend something. At this moment the only fix I have been able to find is to restart my entire machine which is not something that makes development either fun or efficient. If anyone can recommend anything I would greatly appreciate it.
Fiddler creates a proxy when running. Gotta reset the Internet Options of the host machine and it usually goes back to working
