Does anyone know of a latex distribution/front end they highly recommend for OS X?
If the front end had some features you recommend, what are they and why?
Thanks!
Use MacTeX and TeXworks (which comes with it). MacTeX is a Mac-specific wrapper around TeX Live including some useful extras.

I'v got access to both, but I would prefer to stay with the Mac, unless there are going to be major drawbacks from trying to develop with TS on the Mac?
No major drawbacks at all. I use TS on mac and it works just fine! If I were you, I would stick with mac. On Mac, everything is just so much easier to use (in my opinion)!

This maybe some ridiculous, but sometimes I need to work on server and there was no X interface. How to use Google and its search results in Unix-like terminal?
There are a bunch of terminal-web-browsers out there, if that's what you're asking. links2 is probably the most famous.

The kernels which are used in various Linux based OS are same or they are different?
They are all based on the version found on kernel.org, but they usually add their own patches and backport fixes and hardware support.
For the most part the differences are not something to worry about.

There is a program that I have been using for about 10 years now: http://matthieu.bizland.com/ colorpad. Unfortunately, it is only supported by Windows however, I need it for Mac OSX. Is there an equivalent? BTW, this is a desktop application not a browser extension.
Thanks!
