When I try to install PyGraphics-1.5.win32.exe it pops up with an error stating:
"The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I have tried reinstalling Python and have had no luck. My installation currently includes PyWin, Pyserial, and PIL on Windows 7 x64.

You could Google for the missing DLL, and copy it into the Python installation directory.
But it's probably easier to just grab the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Redistributable (x86) runtime package from Microsoft. I think you'll need the x86 version of the runtime (rather than x64), since PyGraphics-win32 sounds like a 32-bit library, not 64-bit.

I am installing an old version of VB6. I had installed a previous version of the software, but uninstalled it. Now I get an error saying 'setup has detected that the service pack version of this system installed is newer that the update you are applying to it'. I searched in the registry for the appropriate keys to modify, however I have not found same. Any help would be appreciated.
Which versions do you have installed of VB6 and of the servicepack?
I suggest you uninstall all VB6 related items, reboot, and then install VB6 again.
After that download servicepack 6 from SP6 from the microsoft site and install that.
If you are still having problems you might try to uninstall all versions of visual studio and install in order of release, so first install VB6 and then install VB.net
I did a reinstall on my machines several times (xp, w7-32b, x7-64b) and never had any problems, but I always installed VB6 first, then its SP6, and then Visual Studio (2005) with its servicepacks, and then checked the windows update to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I built an application in C++ using Visual Studio 2010 Express. When I tried to run it on a certain computer today I got this error:

The DLL mentioned is one of the Visual C++ Redistributable DLLs. My application’s installer used to launch Microsoft’s installer for those DLLs but I recently tweaked it just to install msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll alongside my application. The new way worked fine on a handful of other computers, though I can’t rule out the possibility that that was only because the DLLs had already been installed at system level on those other computers.
What is causing this sudden DLL mismatch?
That's STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT, the Machine property in the DLL header doesn't match the architecture of the application.
Do keep in mind that you are likely to have two copies of this DLL on your build machine, the x86 and the x64 version. Later versions of VS have a 3rd copy, the ARM version. So very high odds that you picked the wrong one. Usually you'd target x86, the one you tested your program with is stored in the c:\windows\syswow64 directory. The 64-bit version is in c:\windows\system32.
How these directories got these seemingly backward names is a story for another day :) Favor using the vc/redist subdirectory of the VS install directory as a source for the copy, it is less ambiguous.
This .dll file is related to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x64 Package.
Try removing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x64 Package by using the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel.
Then, install the latest version Visual C++ (file name= vcredist_x64.exe) from the site:

I have not enough knowledge on how to fix this. What I do know is:
Build a Executable in Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 8.1 (hence the 1-2-0.dll)
Running the executable, crashes on Windows Vista with the message: "This application could not be started, because of the api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll"
Under vista you would have the libraryloader 1-1-0 if not mistaken?
this library is linked from mscorlib.dll somehow? But not referencing this dll would not build the project.
Maybe someone could direct me in correct way? Or better have a solution for this?
Is there a way to tell VS to not use this latest dll version?

I got the same problem, in my case I was providing the d3d9.dll and d3d11.dll, that I copied from windows 8.1 windows instalation directory and ofc. I cant use those!
And then all Computers like Vista, Windows 7 and even Windows 8 had that Error:

In my instaler, Installshield, I removed the d3d9.dll and d3d11.dll, so my aplication will use the ones already in OS.
The problem was not in the "EXE" produced by Visual Studio, but in DLL dependecies that I was providing.

Trying to run a Windows 7, Qt 5.2.0 program and it crashes immediately.
I have the mingw48_32 version, and 32 bit version of Qt 5.2.0.
I dont have Visual Studio, although I did download and install some of the
2010 VS SDK and .Net framework stuff, still no luck.
Ive tried searching for these things to no avail. If it is somewhere on my machine

The same thing happened to me today. I found the problem. My program was loading a DLL with wrong version. This can occur when from the PATH or in the folder of the program is found incompatible library, which have references to these "missing" libraries. In the documentation of Windows is explained in what priority folders are searched for DLLs.
I had the same problem. I realized that I have been copy the wrong dll files. They had the same name that the old version (qt 5.0 to qt 5.5.1). So, I just copy the right files and was done.
If qt project depends on multimedia plugin:
in .pro file add
win32: QTPLUGIN.audio=qtaudio_windows

And, of course, my dll -which is linked against vc9- cannot find the crt.
Where's my mistake ?
The link is for the SP 1 version of the runtime. Googling the version number you mention suggests you need the original release, not sp1. You can find it here.
