JQgrid want an ALL option on the navigator - jqgrid

I am working on jqGrid.I had a problem in the navigator rowList.
my data to this field is like this rowList:['25','50','75','-1'].
I am using -1 to display all the records. In the row list,i wish to use "All" instead of "-1" to display all the records is their any possibility to do this.
Thanks in advance.

Phani Kumar

There are no All value as rowNum and in the rowList array. You should also not use -1 (see documentation about rowNum for example) or other negative values. The value -1 was allowed in some cases in the old releases of jqGrid, but it is no more supported in last releases. The value like 1000, 10000 are good enough depend on your requirements.
Having some realistic restrictions in the number of displayed rows is a good idea independent on the jqGrid support. No real user are able to examine 1000 rows of information without data paging, filtering (searching) or at least scrolling of the data in the web browser. So the displaying of about 50 or 100 row as maximum is what I would recommend you. Look at another old answer for more details and see included examples.

Grafana Templating

I am wondering if there is a way to limit the number of rows generated from grafana templating.
I can have a drop down variable "$x"on my grafana page and I can select the row editor and say repeat row for every value under $x.
Based on different criteria, I can have x anywhere between 1 and like 160 rows. I need to only be looking at about 10 at a time. I am wondering if I can control the number of rows shown/change the rows shown somewhere in grafana.
I can manually select items from the $x drop down to show only a few items of course, but its a matter of selecting only say.. 10 items right when the page loads.
Please let me know if I am not describing the problem correctly or if I need to clarify more.
Thanks,
Karan
As far as I know there is no direct option for this but there are some ways you may be able to achieve what you want.
You could select your ~10 default entries and then save the dashboard this will save the selected ones in the dashboards JSON. (or modify the JSON of the dashboard directly)
You could use the regex field in the template settings to filter some of your values and split them in groups this way. (one variable per regex group)
You could change your data in elasticsearch in order to use multiple fields where you can split on.
see PR #5616 as #Daniel Lee mentioned
In general I think you get a faster response to this in grafana directly at github.

Row limt with Groupings and fixed table layout ,in SSRS

I do know sometimes I need to think out of the box rather than sticking with that seem-impossible way out. I have to achieve a report (not complicated I guess, but for me I have no more idea how to get)
Well, the details are as follow:
The report is kind of invoice type.
Like an usual report, it has header, body and footer. In my scenario, there is no footer. Only the report header and the body. The header is ok. The Body consist of a table.
My data rows starts from row 3( because I add some content in row no 1, inside the list, as for row no 2, I have my table column header). So, actually my data row(which is directly retrieved from dataset) is at row no 3. The header repeat correctly. In fact, the table is displaying exactly as I wanted. I have two groups in my table. One is group by ItemCode, and then sort by ItemCode and Department number.
I have subtotal of value by ItemCode and Grandtotal after that. So, there are three rows for my data: one directly retrieved from dataset, one for subtotal and one for grandtotal. The problem is here:
I can't limit the number of row because of the groups. The row number rankings are messed up and that's why I can't limit. The resulting outcome is having inconsistency in showing numbers of rows.
For example I want to limit 10, but in some page, it displays 10(correct), but in the next page it might becomes 12 or 8 or even 4. That is one thing. Another is that I want to replace the missing rows(2 rows in this case) with blank rows if the it just displays only 8 rows(example). My idea is to maintain the same layout of the table in every page.
As for now, I have no more idea how to achieve my desired result. If I really cannot use row limit then how to do next. I have been researching about that for quite a long time, but still cannot get away with a solution.
I hope I have made myself clear explaining what is going on. Some part is not clear enough, then get back to me. I will try my best to explain more.
If anyone has any suggestions, please kindly share. Your help is much appreciated!

how to set dynamic header using BIRT?

I am newbie to BIRT and unfortunately my first task is over complicated.
I want to create table like this
Birt Report Snap
the columns in this picture must be dynamic. the data for the column name is in database and I have to fetch it and create columns on the go. 2nd to put values against it.
kindly tell me if this thing is doable in birt. I am new to this so please don't give negative ratings
thanks.
I believe what you are looking for is called a Cross Tab Table.
Here is a tutorial video on it: BIRT - Cross Tab Table
In addition to SBurris answer, which is the way you should try first, I can assure you from my experience that what you want is in fact doable with BIRT, and even in two different ways.
However, some of the minor aspects might be a bit quite tricky for beginners, e.g. the merged cells in the column header, the different background colours and border widths for the columns. So, these style aspects shouldn't matter at first, you can tackle them later.
The first, by far easiest and standard way to achieve this kind of report layout is a cross tab, as SBurris said.
The second option is - depending on the database backend - to use a "normal" Table report item in they layout and to "create the cross tab" with SQL.
This is more powerful IMHO as the BIRT Cross Tab report item, but also more complicated.
For examples, see here:
Pivot / Crosstab Query in Oracle 10g (Dynamic column number)
Pivoting rows into columns dynamically in Oracle
How to do Pivoting in Oracle 10g
(you get the idea)
To use this with BIRT, you'll have to select the column title values in addition to the cell values.
You have to decide how many columns do/should fit on your page (if you're using PDF output).
You can use the maximum aggregate function in the visibility expression of the columns to hide empty columns.
If the number of logical columns exceeds the number of columns for a single page, you can extend the idea further by dividing the cross tab into several, each with at most N columns.
However, note that this approach will need an experienced BIRT developer...

SSRS sort not working

On a number of reports I have noticed that setting sort options through the tablix properties does not work. I choose the data I'd like to sort by (date) and set the option (Z to A), but the report still shows unsorted. Has anyone else seen this issue? I have read that updating the report xml to include the sort may be what needs to be done because the report builder does not preserve the changes made. Haven't gone down that road yet as I'm looking to see if there's a fix already identified.
Date Type Lead Name State distance Consultant ZIP State 1 Level Reason url
Those are the columns from the export with data filling each column. Can't give too much info because it shows phone numbers and addresses.
One option is to sort the data in your dataset. Then you can leave it and SSRS will honor that.
As the others mentioned, make sure you check the datatype so it's not trying to sort the dates as a string.
Set the sort priorities at the group level, not on the table or dataset properties.
You should never have to edit the XML to get this to work. This is a basic built-in feature that most reports use.
Do you have groups on your tablix? if yes, did you try sorting it with the Row Groups or Column Groups at bottom instead of the sorting properties of the tablix?

Pulling data from Crystal Reports

My data is stored in Oracle and the only way I can run a report with it is using Crystal Reports. I have a set of data that looks like this ,,,,,,,,,,1, or ,1,,,,,,, or ,1,,,,,1,,,,1,. There are more variations.
Each one means a value is true for a record. There are about 54 'ticks/commas' What I want is all records with the one at the X spot. So for one report I may want all records in the 10th spot that have a 1. There may be other times where I want the records where the 1 is after spot 36. I agree it will pull other records but the main once I want is the X spot.
How do I get this? I tried a Like command but that does not narrow the data down far enough. I am familiar with SQL but not Crystal.
Any help would be great. TIA
In Crystal, you might try setting up a Parameter Field to hold a numeric value (1 to 54) then use that in a formula as the Record Selection. You'll be prompted to enter the parameter when you run the report.
In record selection i was initially going suggest the following which would bring back all records with 1 in the 12 spot. But this makes it hard to bring back a range.
split({yourfield},",")[12] = 1
This will bring back the same
instr({#test},"1") = 12
Then for your suggestion above you could use the following to bring back any record if it has a one in any spot after 36
instr({#test},"1") >= 37
As long as there is only one 1 in the field you can use this for other ranges as well.
Actually I don't want to disturb both answerts by Clayton Morris and CoSpringsGuy hence posting my answer.
You need to combine both the solutions to get the desired result.
Create a number parameter and provide either 1 to 57 numbers or keep just a filed to enter desired number.
Now in record selection use the formula given by CoSpringsGuy
if instr({databasefield.column},"1") = {?Inputnumber} --parameter field
then {databasefield.column}
