chrome scrolling issues after some ajax operations - ajax

I am experiencing strange issue with scrolling, After doing some ajax operations on a webpage, which dynamically add & remove contents from the page. Mouse scrolling hangs up (mouse scoll events doesn't work) and pressing UP ARROW key from keyboard solves the problem.
I wonder is there any known issue like that for chrome?
Edit:
I don't have any js errors on the page, I am simply adding contents to div block dynamically
<div id="ContentArea">
<!-- load contents here -->
</div
<script>
loadHtml('/my/target/page', 'ContentArea');
// this contents may vary in size
</script>
Edit:
Similar thing happened to me on StackOverflow when i clicked load (n) new answers while answering some question. (some days ago)

I had similar issues and got them fixed by scrolling to the top/left corner before replacing the content. Just add the following line before you replace anything:
window.scrollTo(0, 0);
I've tested it only with Chromium 9.0.594.0 (67311) on Mac, but I think chances are good that this will work with on other platforms as well.

I've had strange problems with Chrome and scrolling, then I uninstalled the SmoothScroll extension and everything worked.
Try disabling all of your extensions and see if the problem persists (note: disabling does not uninstall them but will help you identify if an extension is causing the problem):
Menu button -> Tools -> Extensions
Then click the Disable link on all of them (and you may want to restart Chrome for good measure)

Alt-click select word behaviour differs to native textarea

I'm using a pretty bog-standard installation of CKEditor 5, and have noticed that alt-clicking on a Mac is acting differently in ckeditor to a basic textarea.
Textarea:
Right click a word, and it will be selected - 100% of the time.
CKEditor:
Right click a word - it seems a little unpredictable - the only way I can make it work every time is if I place the cursor within the word everytime.
This issue was raised as a user pointed out that the browser spellcheck only works on the second attempt, so not ideal.
I created a video showing the behaviour on the ckeditor examples website - with a textarea just thrown in using devtools - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0pDCdbNZpc
Has anyone come across this before and found a solution at all? Thanks!
edit: confirmed as an issue on GitHub https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor5/issues/11898

Popup on Eigen web page blocks content

For some reason the Eigen web page now has a popup blocking content. If you go to http://eigen.tuxfamily.org/dox/, the popup in the upper-left corner of the page doesn't want to go away. Help please! Seems to fail with both the latest Firefox and on Chrome.
Looks like the Eigen developers are aware of this (Issue 1918) and they just merged a fix about 5 minutes ago. I'm not sure how long it takes to update the website, but the documentation bug causing the issue should be fixed.
Apparently the issue was with the JavaScript in eigen_navtree_hacks.js which needed the load function (which is deprecated) to be changed to the on function
$(window).load(showRoot);
had to be changed to
$(window).on("load", showRoot);
and
$(window).load(resizeHeight);
had to be changed to
$(window).on("load", resizeHeight);
I'm not sure what actually triggered the menu to start behaving this way in the first place.

How to make Firebug group computed styles?

Firebug used to to display styles in the Computed panel like this, with computed styles grouped:
But for some reason it now displays computed styles like this:
The only grouping available is "Other" which appears to contain every CSS style. How do I make CSS styles group together?
I am using Firefox 46 with Firebug 2.0.16. The change began seemingly out of nowhere, I did not adjust any settings.
I have tried toggling every option in the dropdown menu. The value of the computedStylesDisplay setting is grouped (default value). I tried switching to alphabetical and then back to grouped but it changed nothing.
This is obviously a bug in Firebug in combination with Firefox 46.0. In Firefox 45.0.x it was still working fine.
I've filed a bug for that in Firebug's issue tracker and already fixed it. I have also created a build with that fix. Now it's up to the Firebug team to make a proper new release.
Note that the Firebug team is already working on Firebug 3, which integrates into the Firefox DevTools. Those tools don't have the grouping yet, but it's already requested in bug 977128.
Update:
Firebug 2.0.17 got released, which includes the aforementioned fix.
Update:
Firebug is officially discontinued, i.e. its maintenance has stopped in favor of pushing the development of the Firefox DevTools.
I've run into the same issue. It doesn't exactly solve the problem but what I've found helps at least a little is to click Options -> Show Quick Info Box. Gives a list of current applied styles to the element you're hovered over in the HTML console but unfortunately doesn't provide the original CSS reference line.

IE8 Developer Tools not displaying Style info

I'm running into an issue with IE8 developer tools where they Style information is not displaying in the pane when I select an element. It is definitely page specific as I can switch to another page and the styles will appear for that page when I select an element.
Strangely, if I add an inline style to an element, the inline element will display in the style pane. The page finds the CSS files just fine since the page is rendering with the styles.
Anyone else encounter such a problem? If it helps, the page I'm developing is a Joomla template. I'm currently doing the process-of-elimination by deleting half the code, then the other half to identify the culprit code but I'd thought I'd throw this out to see if anyone else knows. Thanks everyone.
I saw others mention similar problems in other forums and the common issue has to do with a link tag to an external stylesheet. In my case, it was a Google Fonts Directory link.
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Josefin+Sans+Std+Light' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' />
Removing the link temporarily allowed to style information to display.
I had a similar issue when a stylesheet had an include statement for another stylesheet that did not exist.
Try refreshing the Developer Tools' DOM cache - 4th button in the toolbar, the hotkey's F5. If the element's styles change after the Dev Tools window is opened, the actual DOM and the reported one can differ.
I ran into the same issue and found that developer tools was freaking out on my Typekit JS in the head. There was nothing wrong with it. Developer tools was just being finicky. Imagine that. I commented it out and viola, it worked again.
Another buddy of mine said he had seen developer tools freak out when an HTML tag wasn't closed properly so that might be another thing to look for.

Why is my firefox extension messing with another one's buttons?

I wrote a firefox extension which simply re-formats a page using some JQuery. But, it's interfering with another extension that places a button on the header panel of the browser. Now that button doesn't display. Can some one point me in the right direction as to when this happens. This is my first fire-fox extension.
Update:
The problem is actually being caused by the JQuery source file.
This is a known issue when using JQuery in the overlay.
Your update doesn't include valid chrome.manifest lines. Also, your original style line was totally wrong, and likely the cause of your problem. You should review this page which specifies the syntax to see how this should have been done.
